It's very sweet of you to offer :) Thanks!
I've been a lurker for quite some time now, but have never formally introduced myself. :PHi. I'm an indie author, epicist, and fledgling spoken word poet. My taste in books has changed a lot over the years. :) I started off with YA Fantasy as a kid and then built up to High Fantasy and some Romance and YA Science Fiction. I got into poetry a couple of years ago, and have become addicted to it. Favorites include Coleridge, Neruda, Cummings, Poe (though I disagree with some of his poetic principles); I also used to love Wordsworth. As for Beat and spoken word poets, I like Ginsberg, Sarah Kay, and Taylor Mali.
Outside reading and writing, I like to do musical theater and also bake a lot. :)
Hello everyone! I'm Jester :) bgo plang ako d2 and I'm hoping to make new friends. Most of my friends are foreigners who I never meet personally so why not try making new ones locally? I'm used to speaking in English when communicating, though.
Hi!
I hope I can keep up with the group's activities! :3
(currently fave book: Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta)
Hi!!!!i KNOW I've MISSED a loT...I am no longer a newbie but I have been inactive for roughly three years.. :(
I hope I'm still welcome.. :)
where is jzhun, anyway? :)
Rhys wrote: "hi Lynai! hope you still remember me.. :)"Of course, I still remember you Rhys! Glad to know you're back. :) Jzhun's still here, he's just lurking (in the shadows) :D
JZHUN: Rhys is looking for you o. :)
Hello everyone! I'm Stephen. Like almost everyone here I've been on Goodreads and on this group for a while but haven't been the most active of members. I don't have a favorite genre and my taste is all over the place. I love Atlas Shrugged-- it changed my life (but not in a good way) and On The Road, Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch and Ender's Game, LOTR, Catcher in the Rye. A few faves I could I mention off the top of my head.
It used to be a goal for me to finish every book I've started reading as a matter of principle. (But mostly because sayang ang perang pinambili. hehe) I kinda got passed that. There just too many books to read that you can actually get into. And now I have ginormous amount of half-read books that would prolly stay like that.
I play football and a crazy fan of the sport. I ride longboards for the stoke!
Id love to join Book discussions (though I'm not sure how it works), meet kindred spirits and make new friends! :)
Hi Rigel, it's nice to have indie authors and poem lovers here.Hi Jester, most people here speak in very good English, so I don't think you'll have trouble communicating.
Hi Michiko, pareho tayo na hindi masyadong mahilig sa Pinoy books. Pero darating din iyan.
Hi Sakura, welcome too!
Hi Rhys, Jzhun doesn't show himself much around here. He's more active in other groups, I think.
Hi Stephen, it's easy to join the book discussions. Just show up at the venue and everyone will welcome you.
:)
Hi Rigel -- haha I'm not used to calling you Rigel! :)) Hope to see you in one of the meet-ups, Judd. :PHi Jester - welcome to the group! Like what Angus said, people often speak in English (at least here in the threads, anyway), so we should be able to talk here just fine. :)
Michiko - I used to not read Filipino books, but I got into it. Mahirap lang talaga maghanap ng okay minsan. If you're into chicklit / romance, there's always our group favorite, Mina V. Esguerra. :D
Sakura - hello!
Rhys - Hi! I don't know if nagkaabutan tayo dito sa TFG, but hello. :)
Hi Stephen - Ender's Game! I'm not a huge sci-fi fan, but I really liked Ender's Game. :) Oh, I still have that thing about finishing all books I read, but it only depends on how good my friends' reviews are for the book. I often just put them on hold when I don't feel like finishing it yet. And yes, drop by any book discussion. Newbies are always welcome. We're discussing The Book Thief this month, and the face to face discussion will be on the 23rd. Hope you can join us :)

I read shoujos hihi. tapos mahilig akong manood ng shounen :)
Hi everyone! I've been in Goodreads for years, I don't know why I joined this group just now! So anyway, I'm now here and my name is Veronica Cosio, everyone calls me Nica. I'm a stay at home Mom to two sweet little girls (Summer, 18 months old and Emma, 3 months old). I just recently resigned from my job so I can be a fulltime housewife. So books, aside from my kids, are my daily companions.I'd really love to meet new book lover friends and maybe even join meetups!
Hi, Nica! :-) Welcome to the group! Familiar face! haha. It's so nice to see you here too. We have discussions once a month, usually at the 3rd or 4th weekend. This month we'll be having it on March 23, and we're talking about The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. :) Hope you can join us then. :)
Yay, a tocaya! Hello Nica, nice to meet you. :)Just call me Ronnie. It seems strange to call you by our name - like talking to myself. Haha :)
Hi everyone my name is Amee., this is my first club i ever joined sa tanda ko na ito hahahahaha., i hope you can help me if i have a querry., thanks
Angus and Tina, thanks for the welcome. The community looks awesome!Tina, I finished that book in one sitting- on a computer. That's how I hooked I was to the thing. A movie is coming out later this year, i think and I am freaking out!
I have a copy of The Book Thief in here somewhere. I'll try to finish it before then. :)
Stephen: I was never able to finish Atlas Shrugged. I find it harder to read compared to The Fountainhead, which, by the way, I found extremely fascinating. There's something about Ayn Rand's unearthly characters that give me the chills. Anyway, I read The Fountainhead for the notorious rape scene. HAHAHA. Objectivism, far second.
Nibra - No way. Atlas Shrugged was a breeze for me. It took me a while to finish The Fountainhead though, maybe because I was still digesting Atlas Shrugged. I read the two in quick succession in college. And almost everything by Ayn Rand in the succeding months.I was a mess after that. I bit into her philosophy hook, line and sinker. I was misreading everything and was an objectivist zombie for years. I turned into a mean and narcissistic asshole with a misplaced superiority complex. My present me wouldn't even want to be friends with that past version of me. haha Ah to be young and stupid. Good times. :))
Stephen- That is why one is required to read Ayn Rand as a filter, not a sponge. Her philosophy is just too much, at least for me it was. Too masturbatory. What I enjoyed about Fountainhead however, is the depiction of three different characters: one who ignores the society, one who mocks it, and one who wants to pin it under his thumb. Of course there are others, but these three was Fountainhead in a capsule. More importantly, it isn't corny! Thank God it isn't! The reading experience was exhausting. A corny romantic element would have sent me to the edge. Lol, you read the signs wrong. :)

Hi Theresa here! So I'm new. Well, I'm 20 y/o, a student and currently residing in Taguig City. I'm kinda flexible for I often read whatever book I grab or had known about. My favorite book is Tell Me Your Dreams. Feels great to find a community where you could share your interests. I've often found myself reading until the sun came up in the morning. :)) Nice to be here!
Hi Hannah! It's this group! We conduct face to face book discussions every month. You can check out this month's discussion in this thread :)Hi Theresa! Welcome to TFG :) Oh I think you'll find people who read until the sun comes up, too! I used to be able to do that, but I fall asleep easily, so sometimes a book hits me on the face whenever that happens. :D
Rhys wrote: "TINA : 23? Sunday? I will see..."It's a Saturday :) We'll have the other details posted soon.
We have several activities for April din -- outreach and Louize's F2F, which will be done in the South daw. :)

Hey guys. Jasmin here. :) I'm 18 btw. Call me watever you like, but Ja will really do. I'm really enjoying reading whenever possible, and i also do love to write. :)
Hi Jasmin! I'm just older by a year than you! Welcome to TFG! And cute DP! :'DP.S.
I've been not posting here for quite long, so yeah, for those who doesn't remember me, I'm Chibivy. :)
Hey Chibivy! Nice to catch you here. Good to talk to someone just near my age :) Thanks for the welcome. And i do love your bangs. They're so cute.
Oh no, my bangs aren't cute. It was because of the effect of the picture (plus I just finished having shower that time) so my bangs looked okay. In person, my hair is far from being "cute". :))Yep, I turned 19 just three months ago. When are you turning 19? :)
