[General] Introduce Yourself!
Thanks po..:DAko ulit si Klaire, fresh grad, a cheerful and jolly elementary teacher. :)
and I love reading and I'm grateful because reading seems to love me in return. :)) And I really prefer reading the actual book than ebooks, sumasakit lang ulo ko kapag ebook at kapag book talaga mas naaappreciate ko yung binabasa ko..:)
Welcome ulit to my fellow newbies
Good Day everyone!
*takes a deep breath*Welcome to Sir Epi, Miss Klaire, Sir Toffe, Sir Alvin, and Miss Shelly~
Wow, andameng bago. Tell me if I missed any name. :3
And hey, we have new two teachers. Hi Sir Epi and Miss Klaire~ You know, I want to be a teacher too. And I will, definitely. Someday. :>
Hope you guys will enjoy your stay here in The Filipino Group. :D
Okay, so many newbies to say hi to! :D (I'm procrastinating from work, so I shall try saying hi to everyone. Hihi)Hi Chibivy! Natuwa naman ako sa intro mo. :) Welcome to the group! I hope you can drop by on Saturday!
Hi Frannie! *kaway back*
Hi to you too, Euriz! :)
Hi Roxanne! Haha glad you finally decided to unlurk. I used to lurk around until I finally decided to say hi..but that was ...erm, 2 years ago. :D Hihi.
Hindi ka newbie, pero Hi Veneficus! Magpakita ka naman ulit! At uuuy sino yung namiss mo? #issue
Hi Izzy! Congratulations in advance! You made me miss my senior year in high school. :) And good luck with Creative Writing! Where are you studying next year?
Hi Berto! Glad to have you around. :)
Hi K! Welcome to you, too. :) I have a character in my current NaNoWriMo novel that I call K, a code for "Kris". Haha wala lang. Hope you have fun here. :)
Hi Thea! Welcome to the group. Bagong bago kayo! :) Wag mahiya magpost at mag-hello at magpakita, okay? :)
Hi Epi! Ooh, a teacher! :) Glad to see you here! Good luck with your novel, and I hope we get to see you around in the meet-ups. :)
Hi Klaire! Welcome! We have a lot of people who hail from QC, too.
Hi Toffe! I come from just the bottom of the mountain of Antipolo, aka Cainta. LOL. What's your course in college?
Hi Alvin! Oh, you'll find a lot of fantasy book recommendations, here! We have a lot of fantasy readers in the club.
Hi Shelly! Curious question -- why is your username Marie? :D First name, second name? :)
Okay there, I've caught up with the newbies! I hope you guys enjoy your stay here. :D Back to work!
@marie (who prefers to be called Shelley. so how bout frankestein? jk) i feel the same way. currently employed as a chemist so i hardly find time to read -.- to while away break time (lunch mostly) i'd end up reading wattpad. in my neon-halo-sainthood days i'd tolerate anything from Taylor-Swift themed amateur novels (meaning: there was a boy in my class with an adorable smirk so Imma write about him!) to genius and flawlessly original stories (note: sarcasm) about a jock and an average-looking girl (who is supposedly smart in the novel but 'reads' out even dumber than the point-A-to-B-minus-brains-in-between narrative and my classmate in elementary who once believed that F. Magellan was crazy murdered by a fish). NHS days happen rarely, and by rarely I mean only on days when I feel completely and utterly sane which, btw, is the sesquipedeliablaaaah way of saying 'almost never' (operative word: almost). So yeah, if you hate your self so much and want to vent out frustrations on your ephemeral neurons, wattpad is the best place to be! Read about girls secretly wishing gawng-bawng with One Directions (or singling them out coz they've been actual to wars and know the downside of 'gluttony', hypothetical or not) or girls writing books about how drop-literally-dead gorgeous vampires (who insult Edward Cullens but they were patterned to EC anyway, whoarewekidding?) and how they sink stuff (go figure) into them or the grossly disgusting bestialities about alphas and their mates (i miss the innocent days of dogs like Old Howler, Balto, Lassie, Hachiko and Megan Fox).
Not being sexist (or maybe I am, a little) but really the girl writers there compel me to bang the wall (not that 'bang', the other platonic-esque 'bang').
Sorry for the ramble. I'm stressed out so Imma go to Wattpad now and read Kathryn B. & Daniel Padilla fanfics. They should file those under horror or paranormal categories -.-
Pardon my horrid grammar. Trees are crying right now. i made mockery of their papery sacrifices apparently -.-

Thank you Miss Tina~! :'>
And yes, I hope I could drop by on Saturday. But I am not sure because I have matters to attend to. Maybe just a short "peek" on how you guys are like, if I could.
Hahaha.

I already applied for UP Diliman and La Salle Taft. I have an upcoming exam on December for UST :)

I feel so welcome here already. Kahit it's only been 3 days since nakasali ako :)

Hi everyone! Pwede bang re-introduce yourself? :)I'm Erinn and I've been lurking since 2010, I think. Already introduced myself waaay back then ata but not active.
I'm a graduating college student sa UST. Then law school next year. Walang buhay. Haha.
Obviously, I love to read (and buy) books. I'm a bit picky with what I read, mainly sticking to several authors and genres. I'm not a critic and I just read for enjoyment. YA/Fantasy, mostly, and trying Sci Fi now.
Hope I'll be active this time around :)

@Chibivy: It's never too late to be a teacher. I hope you become one in the near future. :D

@Tina: Thanks for the prod. Hopefully, I don't stumble upon writer's block, I can complete this before I start graduate studies.
Hi everyone! I'm not that active in goodreads, so please bear with me..pero i'd really want to meet people who i share interests with and have new friends! I read for enjoyment like Rin, Hi Rin! and I just graduated last year from college..i'm kinda a yuppie na? hahaha..reason for not being online that much..i like music and watching series & movies too! well, who doesn't? :) anyway..i'm probably rambling here..hahaha..goodnight.. :)
ooh..ooh..you can just call me clai for short..hahaha..goodnight..
hi newbies! Nibra, thanks for promoting Wattpad... but no thanks, I prefer not to dwell on Daniel Padilla and hear him sing "Hinahanap-hanap kita", I love Bamboo, no one else sings it better and that is a fact.
Clangclangclai, you seem familiar, a certain roll in my tongue tells me I have twisted it months before just pronouncing your name (or it got something to do with a sigsheet from a past life, I do not really know, maybe I am confused)
Hi to teachers Epi and Klaire!
Hi to Izzy, K, Rin!
Hi to Shelly and Alvin too!
hope i did not miss any other newbie.
@ranee i don't even know he sings, or sing a little, or microscopically. i even throw my cousin to the television to shut it when his show comes up. i don't buy the idea of fanfic business in general. it's too masturbatory.
Hi to Miss Rin~ And welcome to the other newbie, Miss Clai~Epi wrote: "

@Sir Epi: Yes, I will definitely become a teacher, someday. That's my goal. :'>
Nibra wrote: "i don't buy the idea of fanfic business in general. it's too masturbatory."lol you got that right.

Hi Rin! I'm also a Thomasian graduate, and I finished law school at UST, too. Welcome to the group! :)
Hi Ranee! i've introduced myself..a year ago I think? maybe that's why..hahaha..
Hi Chi! Is it alright if I just call you chi? ;)

I have a used bookshop here in Baguio majority of stocks come from the US and Hongkong. . . Im one of those readers who read anything basta well recommended. Hope to drop more often to check what others say about what they have read. . . . BTW should you have any books to sell or swap or if you are looking fos some titles, baka meron po tayo. Magandang Umaga!
Hello, everyone! My name's Marc, a business and I.T. student at the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. I'm fairly new here in goodreads and I can say that my interest in reading increased only quite recently because both my older brother and younger sister read a LOT of books, and I realized that there is so much to be learned and experienced with reading. I'm glad I finally joined this group and I'm equally glad to see that the Filipino community here is active.I enjoy reading science-fiction, among other things, and I've to say that one of my favourite authors is Neil Gaiman. His work, for me, is just pure awesome and I instantly acquired an obsession reading his graphic novels and short stories, not to mention his novels; Gaiman is quite the storyteller. I also enjoy reading Kurt Vonnegut and his novels of satire. Recently, I've also started reading Murakami and I like his work as well. I am currently reading Tai-Pan from James Clavell's Asian saga (historical fiction) and I must say I am definitely hooked. It's exciting being immersed in the story of a really long novel, absorbing its plot and its characters.
Oh, I also enjoy music a lot --all kinds, and I believe that music has a direct connection to our soul and our emotions. I've been both active and at times stagnant in my band life, performing and constantly learning for the past seven years or so with such incredible and talented individuals I've met, and I am glad that I call them my friends.
Anyhow, that's it for now. I'm really happy to be here and I look forward to meeting all of you interesting people. =)
Peace and love everybody!!

Hi, everyone! I'm reintroducing myself too. Hahahah. I'm Trina/Katrina, an MA in Language and Literature student at DLSU-Manila. :) Currently I am still exploring all sorts and forms of literature/books/reading materials. Hopefully this time I'll be more active in the group as well ( and be more consistent in my reading habits). :P Despite currently being a lit major, there are only a few books that I've really read (I had a different major for my undergrad). I want to be a voracious reader -- just like most of you guys. :D
May ilan akong kakilala at online friends dito. 'Hi' sa inyo at 'Hi' sa lahat!
Nibra: you mean engineering stud's/engineers? I'm raising my right foot.Btw, it's as if the newbies' month. Andami! Welcome all! :)
Welcome to all newbies!Hi Ryan!
Rollie: sometime soon you'll have to introduce yourself here again. We have not seen you in a long while.
Ella, bigla kong naisip ang mga tao sa NBS Warehouse noong mabasa ang note mo. As in. Nakapunta ka na ba?Ryan, welcome to TFG!
@Clai. Congrats on graduating. And i really like your name "Claclangclai" hihi :)
@Nelz. Welcome to the group :)
@Marc. Hello and welcome :). I love your definition of music. And your in a band and performs and all? Cool :D. I always wanted to be in a band but I get shy performing in front of others :3
@Katrina. Hello po :). I actually just took an entrance exam there at DLSU-Manila last October 14. I'm really hoping to pass.
@Nikka. Welcome to the group :). Sounds cool, being a scientist.

Sisingit lang ako. I haven't been to the sale considering na ang lapit ko lang. Hahaha. I shall go later. Last chance. Hahaha

@Izzy: Thank you! And yes. Hahaha :) I've performed in all sorts of gigs, music festivals, and whatnot. Most recently was the Fete de la Musique, that was a solid experience. Honestly, though, there really is no reason to be shy about performing in front of an audience, it just seems scary. Once you're up there, it's just all about expressing yourself and sharing your energy with the people. Likewise, the audience feeds off it and you in turn absorb their energy through their emotions. :DMight sound confusing but that's the only way I can put it ha ha! :) Anyway, my advice is goooo for ittt!!
Hi Everyone!! I am not sure if I already introduced myself..but anyway, hi! i'm still new here...('^.,_______________,.^")
Hi Izzy! Thank You! here comes the real world.. *dungdungdungdung* (suspense thriller sound effect) hahaha..you're name reminds me of a character in grey's anatomy..said character was played by katherine heigl.. :)
@Marc. Yea'. Thnx for the advice :). I have classmates that keep asking me to be their lead guitarist, but it's just that I get conscious that I might make a mistake. So I tend to be shy :)
@Clai. Oooh yeah. I love Katherine Heigl :). There's only the difference in spelling, I think. Her name's Isobel and Izzie is her nickname. Mine's Isabelle and Izzy. :)
@Izzy! Yes! YES! You're definitely right! :)
Hey there! I'm from New York and read actual paper books when I'm not reading the news online or checking blogs on my phone.
- The original source for the classic movie is as close to a perfect book as I can imagine. As for contemporary Pinoy-centric lit, I was surrounded by talented NY-based writers who also happened to be my professors in Asian/Pacific American Studies classes. Thanks to the environment and working in the community, I read Jessica Hagedorn, the playwright David Henry Hwang whose mother was an Chinese emigre from the Philippines, but my favorite so far is R. Zamora Linmark. (Oh, and full disclosure, I'm a graphic novel/comic snob.)Sige! Looking forward to stimulating discussions!

Hi! Jas here, owner of Avalon.ph. Started on the Library Thing (early 2008), moved to Good Reads (Aug 2008) and finally joined The Filipino Group a few months ago.First book I bought was Asimov's Magical World of Fantasy: Devils (favorite story: That Hellbound Train by Robert Bloch). It was quickly followed by Cosmos by Carl Sagan.
Favorite authors lately: Kelly Link, Jeffrey Ford, Ted Chiang.
I'm both a collector and seller of books, and involved in the online (sometimes offline) trading of books since 1999. Lots of funny, cool and regrettable stories throughout the years I can say! Hopefully I get to share some in this group.
See you around!
Jas
Hello I'm ching2x. I have recently got back to reading eversince I got here in manila for reasons that i needed some distraction from the heavy traffic and I got addicted eversince. :) Pala first time ko nag basa ng book was when I was in elementary yung mga stories na may pictures tapos nung highschool yung mga sweet valley high tapos mga pakunti romance novel then college I got into detective stories. Ngayon lang ulit after 5 years nakapagbasa ako kahit ano nalang yung pinupulot ko sa bookstore. gusto ko sanang mag basa ng classic kaso lang i find it really challenging. sana maka hanap din ako ng advise pano ba maka get pass a page na stuck ka lalong-lalo pag classic.
i'm looking forward to finding friends here and hopefully more books pa na marecommend sa akin.
Welcome fellow readers: Pam, Jas and Ching2x :)
