[General] Introduce Yourself!
Hi po! :) New here. I just saw this group while browsing. I like YA books. Although I read Adult books once in a while. Oh, I like reading Tagalog Pocketbooks first before switching Young Adult. Thanks to Twilight for that. But I'm not a Twi-hard. :P
Gene: Ack, yes, it is heartbreaking. It's a good thing we already had our house renovated a year after Ondoy, so my books are safe. I still get freaked out by some rains, though! BTW, how did you guys do during the habagat? Lubog hanggang first floor for most of our neighbors. Medyo mataas yung pwesto ng house namin, parang 2nd floor level. Handa na kami kaya we evacuated our house as soon as we woke up.
This is what it looks like during habagat, we live behind the orange apartment:

During Ondoy, hanggang 2nd floor niyan ang lubog.
LOL, sorry OT na.
Hallo Lynai and Penda!
Konnichiwa! Im Bevz and like you I like(LOVED THEM!) books. Reading is my pastime and my special key to experience something beyond my limits. I usually read and collect Filipino(PHR, etc,.) books. I also read the English books but I only have a small collection of it on my shelf... and before I forget, I'm from Cebu :) any Cebuanos here?

I read Tagalog romances too but not lately. I find the stories repetitive na kasi. Anyway, nagbabasa parin ako from time to time. Pang-alis umay lang. LOL. :)
Welcome to the group!

Hello! :) I'm Jenny from Manila. I'm a 3rd year college student. I've only been in goodreads for about a year. I like reading YA and gen.fiction books (also those with medical and law related topics) I'm a fan of Sarah Dessen, Jodi Picoult, and John Green. :D I hope to make friends and get along with everyone. :)) Oh, I learned about this group through a good friend/blockmate. Hi, Ingrid! :D
Hello everyone! I'm Airah from Paranaque. I'm a pediatric nurse. Reading is my first love. Nursing is my passion. When I was young, Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries got me really addicted to reading. I also used to read historical romances, from Judith Mcnaught to Jude Deveraux. Then, I read bestsellers like Harry Potter, Dan Brown's novels, Hunger Games, etc.
Now, I read mostly Young Adult or New Adult books. My favorite is The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher. After reading the said book, I felt compelled to sign up for Goodreads, and give it the 5 stars it truly deserved.
I hope to chat with you all sometime! Thanks for having me! :)
Hi Airah! Welcome to the group. :) I like how a book compelled you to sign up for Goodreads. I remember signing up back then because I was hoarding accounts online. Haha! We hope to see you in one of our future meet-ups?Hi Steve! You're very welcome here. I'm not sure I'm familiar with "takimona", so maybe it's a word from the dialect there? But you got Mabuhay and Salamat po right. :) Where are you based now?
Hi Steve! I don't know but maybe it's "teka muna" and not "takimona"? I am just trying to understand within the context. Welcome to the group!Hi Airah! Welcome! Another reading nurse in the group. Yay! :)
Hi guys! I'm Paulyn from Marikina. I am a random fiction reader. But I prefer books that is written in first person's point of view. I joined this group hoping that I can get suggestions of what would be the best next book to read.. Hope to hear book suggestions from you soon! :D

Howdie :) A newbie here in goodreads :) Created an account here in hopes of expanding my book genres. lolMababaw lang akong tao hehe.Ayoko yung masasakit na ulo na babasahin (e.g. LOTR) gusto ko moving lang yung story at easy reading. Im into post apocalyptic, sci-fi,supernatural, inspiring (e.g. about life, love, universe) pang teenagers reading stuffs.
Mahilig din ako minsan sa deep filipino contemporary works pag nasa mood ako maging makata. Hehe
Im a nurse in practice as of the moment na ginagawa ko to. Due to sobrang "toxic" na schedule ng mga nurse, nkakapagbasa nlng ako paminsan sa byahe, (jeep/fx/lrt)yep, im obsessed like that.
Let's exchange thoughts insights and mga kapraningan :) Im so good at that :))))))))) wahaha :))))))))
Hi Chenley! Nakarelate naman ako, nurse din kasi ako, although not in practice ngayon :) Gawd!
Ako nga pala si Aren or Andy. Your pick :)Nice to meet you!

Hi Airah! Yes to Nancy Drew, Jude Deveraux, and Dan Brown!
Welcome and enjoy the group :)
Hello Paulyn, Tintin, Chenley and other newbies I might have missed! Welcome to TFG!Chenley, hindi naman masakit sa ulo basahin ang LOTR. Kelangan lang siguro you have a penchant for reading high-fantasy books or if you want investment in reading.
Panuorin mo na lang sya!
Dear Filipino Group,Hi! My name is John and I have written and published a novel based on my Father-In-Law's World War Two experiences in Manila. I am a newbie to Goodreads and I really don't want to be accused of spamming this group. But what I am looking for is some Filipino feedback on my novel. Is there some way I can do a promotion and/or free giveaway to the Filipino group exclusively? (I'm not sure of the rules about this.) Thank you and Mabuhay!

Hello Newbies, welcome!
Maria, honestly masakit sa ulo yung LOTR, but worth the effort! You will be amazed how throughly Tolkien thought the mythology through, better than any study of anicent civilization, including several distinct languages, poems and songs! Half the beautiful stories are in the footnotes/appendices, so don't miss them! I read through ALL the Tolkien books one long boring summer vacation.
Hello Everyone!I'm back! My role in the big systems implementation project in our company has been defined and it will not be that much. So I guess I will have time for TFG.
Hope you can welcome me back.

Yay!!!
oh hi. newbie here. name is Arbin. i am a chemical engineer by profession but i'd give up my license anytime for a JK Rowling autograph. if i want to be challenged, i read classic literatures (19th century, preferably). if i am utterly depressed i read cancer books to further my approach nadir, when confused i read books with themes pertaining to dysfunctional lives and dissonance, when i feel giddy i go chic lit but eventually insult the books. i've never read filipino novels save Without Seeing The Dawn (no choice). i am colonial minded. i have faint interest in holocaust and civil war literatures.
so yeah. hi everyone.
Hi Arbin, welcome to TFG. I like your honesty. Cheers.Hi Vim, miss u na rin! Hope to see you sometime soon!
Hi Louize, I want to laugh with you again.
