Apokripos (apokalypse) | 3321 comments So what are the things that you're researching about...

Does it have something to do with biology or other related branch of science?

Ahahahaha!! ☺☺☺

Apokripos (apokalypse) | 3321 comments Ohhh!!! Interesting...

So with so much knowledge on economics and all, will the Philippine's economy will boom this year?
(It'll also be good if you'll complement your analysis with graphs that I can't understand.)

Ahahahaha!!! ☻☻☻

Just kidding...

Ohhh!! I also like graphs...

Those colorful bars and all...
And yeah they have terrific stories that tell us about the human experience:
others are just taller and some are small; however, they have bright colors which is a consolation. And that's life, graph and all: it isn't fair.

LOLz! ☻☻☻

I'm having this funny feeling that that sounds like something pulled off from a Dr. Seuss story book. It's lyrical in a way it rings in my ear. Hell, I might be the Philippines's very own Dr. Seuss.

Ahahahaha!! ☺☺☺

Eat, Pray, Love is every woman's book! It's so liberating, don't you think? The film version is currently being shot and guess who plays Elizabeth? Julia Roberts!:D
Have you read its sequel Committed, A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage? I didnt like it as much i did the first book.

I agree, its every woman's book and liberating. I saw a tv clip last month of Julia Roberts while the movie was being shot in India. I think its going to be an interesting film so I will definitely watch it.;)

Prior to Eat, Pray, Love, I have read No Reservations: Travels of An Independent Woman by Alice Steinbach. Also a good read but mainly focuses on travelling and social interaction with strangers. Im loving EPL because Elizabeth was able to fragment pleasure, devotion and balance then bring it all together to create inspiration to every woman.

I didnt know it has a sequel. I hope I'll find a copy in Booksale. :D

message 613: by Apokripos (new)

Apokripos (apokalypse) | 3321 comments I'm not into Chic-Lit but, as far as I know Commited is just recently out of the market. It may took a while for the book to be availabe at Booksale.

For sometime I saw a copy of Eat, Pray, Love in NBS for only 99 php. Is it a book a man should also read? Will it make men, or me, ('coz I'm only speaking for myself here, girls) understand his girlfriend more or women in general? Or is it just a "for-girls-only book" that even when men read it he can and will never will relate to what the book is talking about?

According to GQ's review.."its not just for the ladies, fellas." So I guess men will find this book entertaining and enlightening as well. Give it a shot.

message 615: by Apokripos (new)

Apokripos (apokalypse) | 3321 comments Well judging from your comment maybe this is the kind of book that "men can read but don't want their friends (men) catch them reading it."

Ahahahaha!! :D

but I don't know it might caught my fancy one day and buy it.

message 616: by Moe (new)

Moe (moe_b) | 84 comments Eat Pray Love inspired me in a lot of ways, it's my #1! I could not stop raving about it since, on blogs, to my friends and sister.;) I first read it in January 2009, that time when I was at a major crossroads, on hindsight, I believe I made the right choice. I thought the book got into my hands for a reason.

The book's a great factor to my deciding to get all geared up for the most stellar, biggest dream of my life! Also, it is the book that influenced me to go travel SOLO, with just me, myself & I, something I've been raring to do while I was lost in this book's pages more than a year ago. It strengthened my resolve to do what is right, always. It kindled new passions and stirred old ones. It fueled my faith, in God, in myself, in other people, in my dreams, in Courage, in Love.

I remember one time, I wanted to join a book blog contest and my friend Jamaicaska suggested for me to blog about Eat Pray Love, I told her, I can't yet, it's just too beautiful a book that I was afraid I could not place the right words for it or my blog wouldn't measure up to the book's real worth or it won't fit the bill. So I blogged about my #2 book in its stead.

It's a book with all my (and the many many women I share them with)passions mixed into one, with Italy as a lovely bonus. I could relate to it in a soul level, if I may say. It is simply ineffable.;)

Am I making sense? hehe.

I guess even guys could find this book amusing, or even touching, so go give it a try jzhunagev. ;)

And you smart, wonderful Goodreads women, hehe, go check this book out when you can. This is one of my fave quotes off it:

"Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be." ;)

Credit goes to Moe because shes the one raving about this book for the longest time and I'll just shrug and laugh whenever she mentions this (Sheesh..you have to see how Moe raves! Peace out, Moe!) I saw a copy in Booksale for 45pesos and bought it. Im loving it now.

Hahaha!Pardon my refusal for such an honor, your majesty, we are not two little fat men. : ) But frankly, we are like sisters for life.

@Aaron..thornsamongroses is my very best girl friend.

Tweedledum and Tweedledee
Agreed to have a battle; [ WE DONT REALLY ARGUE:]
For Tweedledum said Tweedledee
Had spoiled his nice new rattle.
Just then flew down a monstrous crow,
As black as a tar-barrel;
Which frightened both the heroes so,
They quite forgot their quarrel.

kris: you have to watch it! and if you're willing to splurge, watch it in 3D. let me correct myself, it must be in 3D, you'll see the wonders of Tim Burton's genius in a different scale.

But in fairness to tweedledum and tweedledee, like them we appear identical in some ways, mostly on what we believe in and how we think. We can finish each other's sentences. But we are different in most ways.

I sure love this!
