lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments John, we do not delete legitimate books, even if they are out of print. Think of Goodreads as more of a library than a bookstore. Goodreads' aim is to have a catalogue of every book known to have been published. You may wish to read the help file on the topic.

Yes, I can see that reasoning with paperbacks, that are only changed on producing a 'new edition' which can justifiably stand in its own right. Ebooks, however, can be changed constantly at the whim of the author, and it seems a bit superfluous (and irritating to the author) to preserve copies of every transient cockup and mercifully fleeting awful cover. Which is my problem here. It may be something for you to consider in the future.

I'm not a staff member. I do not make the rules, I only follow them. However speaking as a reader and a user of the site, I enjoy the fact that I can add the exact edition I have purchased regardless of whether the cover is ugly, or some other thing is wrong with the work. I as a reader deserve to catalogue the exact edition I have.

Oh, I just noticed on the author's website that it says that it should be published on its own soon as an ebook, but it hasn't yet. Should it stay? (at least I think that the cover and publication details should maybe be modified?) Anyway, I hope that someone might help with that one.

Both have been imported from barnes and noble with a truncated title. I could not locate the ISBN numbers on the barnes and noble website either. These books have not been added by anyone so I think it's safe to delete them. Thanks

James (realjimbob) | 21 comments Hey, can somebody please merge these two editions of Len Deighton's Basic French Cookery Course. They are both referring to the same book with the same ISBN numbers, except one has the ISBN numbers in the correct fields, the other just has them in the description.

I've broken these two editions out into a single book. If the second one could be merged into the first one. Then I'll combine the remaining book back into the other editions. Thanks.
