Liz (Bugetta) (bugetta) | 32 comments I'm reading Fortune Hunter Fortune Hunter (Brook Street, #2) by Ava March . I started reading Thief Thief (Brook Street, #1) by Ava March last night and it was such a quick read, I had to move to the next in series.

I decided to pick up Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir Let's Pretend This Never Happened A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson again. I had to return it to the library and then bought myself a copy but haven't been able to get back to it until now. I usually have an audiobook going too, but I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for...

Monica | 17 comments I've been working on The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa for a while, but I think I'm burnt out on vamps. I know, I'm shocked, too.

Listening to Sea Swept by Nora Roberts. Liking it so far, but I am not crazy about the narrator.

Sorry to hear that the narrator isn't good, Monica, because that is such a good series; it's one of my favorites. I hope you can get used to the narrator and enjoy the story!

message 74: by Jonetta (last edited Nov 19, 2012 06:17AM) (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) I agree with Liz, Monica. Next to the Gallaghers of Ardmore, this is my favorite NR series.

message 75: by Monica (new)

Monica | 17 comments I remembered you saying that before, Jonetta. That's the reason I picked it up during Audible's Nora sale. Luckily, the story shines through, and I really like it. The narrator makes Phillip and Ethan sound so weird and nasally, so that's not great. If it's the same narrator for the other books, I will read them instead of listening.

message 76: by Julie (new)

Oh, please do! This series is too special to let bad narration ruin it.

My favorite books by Nora Roberts are her series about brothers, especially the MacKades and that one about the adopted brothers set in the Chesapeake area, the name of which escapes me at the moment. She captures the special relationship between brothers very well.

Yeah, I really like the Chesapeake series, too! I think that the boy's name was Seth. And you're right, she captures incredibly well the relationship between brothers in both the Chesapeake series and the MacKade Brothers!

message 93: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) @Candace. Right above this comment box you'll see a hyperlinked "add book/author." When you select it, you can then search for a book or an author. When you find your book or author, go to the bottom and choose either "link" or "cover" (it defaults to link) and then select "add" for the correct book search option.

It's a good tool to use as each topic will keep track of the books and authors noted in the comments (see lower right column side of his page). Good quick reference.

I love that one as well! She does brother series well. It is the reason I like Sign of Seven series too (they are childhood friends vs being brothers).
