(If red cover set as default, don't worry if it does not immediately show on your series thumbnails; takes a while for goodreads to update all pages/features. If shows correctly on your author page, it did work and eventually will show on series.)

Upload it to your photos and let us know it's there (click your own thumbnail to go to your profile, under your picture there are menu choices for photos).

Or as the author, now that Rivka deleted image, you may be able to go to book page, "edit details" and over on upper right "choose file" and "upload"—your choice.

If you own the book, and have a scanner or camera, you can create a usable cover image that way.

Hi,

Sarah Dessen's books got a new design and I think most of them even have the same ISBN as the old paperbacks. The design-switch happened last year and as far as I know it's only paperbacks that are being published with new designs. Anyway, That Summer by her has the new cover design pulled on the Hardcover edition from 2006 and I guess someone got this one wrong. I don't know what to do but I guess the old Hardcover cover (this one) needs to be added back to the edition and an alternate cover edition (for the paperback with the ISBN 9780142401729) with this cover needs to be added? Can someone please do that for me?

Patrick we cannot use Amazon for anything. However you do have the new cover on your website.

Off to set up your alternative edition.

Once the alternative cover edition is set up you can use that to determine the default cover that shows by going to the book edit page and clicking the link halfway down on the RHS.

Not sure what you mean by a couple of other covers that need to be combined as they are all combined.

Patrick, this is taken from the tips for authors at the top of the librarians group:

"Goodreads recently added a new feature for authors: Goodreads Authors can now choose which edition they want to be the default edition for their books. Goodreads Authors (and Goodreads Employees) are the only people who can use this feature, and they can only do so for books on which they are the primary author.

To use this feature, go to the edition you wish to set as the default, and click the "edit" link. On the edition's edit page there will be a link on the right side, about mid-way down the page and just before the link to refresh stats, to "Set this book as the primary edition for this work".

Patrick I can't see it as I'm only a librarian, if you can't see it I suggest you click the help link at the bottom of each page and go from there.

You'll need to use the contact form under help topics at http://www.goodreads.com/about/contac... and tell a goodreads employee what editions you want set to primary. Generally takes a few business days for a response.

If it helps, checkout the screenshot on this (different topic) thread at http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... - it's showing the righthand side authors get after going to a book page and clicking "edit details"; the very bottom is a choice to refresh stats and right above is the "set this book as the primary edition for this work" menu choice needed.
