I didn't even think about it, but diction is a great thing to think about when analyzing your audience. You could also use definitions so that everyone is on the same page and you don't have poor communication.

message 63: by Emily (new)

Emily | 6 comments It is important to know and analyze our audience so we know what kind of people we are appealing to when we talk. We can then change what we say in order to make it more persuasive to them, so they will support our ideas more. During the speech you need to analyze your audience because if they seem like they are not interested, change a few points about what they are talking about to make it more appealing to them. After a speech, analyze how they felt about it by opening up the floor to questions and offering to answer all.

I hadn't thought about tone before, but it really does contribute to a presentation.

message 74: by Anthony (new)

Anthony Nguyen | 6 comments By analyzing the audience, an author can base his/her writing on the interests of the decade. When analyzing the audience before doing a presentation, the author can change the work to appeal to the public. By doing so during and after the presentation, the work will continue to adapt and and adjust to further interests. This is important because it allows you to apply the rhetorical triangle in everything you write.
