13% (view spoiler)[ I'm not very happy with how this is going so far. Kat is stupid. I don't see how she can like such an a-hole. He's horrible to her and yet for some reason she keeps fantasizing about him for no other reason than his being hot. Which brings us to my second problem with this and all other paranormal books, why are the freaks always so much hotter than humans? They're supposed to look "human" to blend in. They don't look human. They're not blending in. They're standing out. Way way out. Going back to the first problem which is how dumb Kat is, what is wrong with her? He keeps moving much too fast for a human being and she questions it for half a second before she goes back to admiring his body and hating his attitude and it doesn't seem like she hates it enough. I want to know how this is going but so far. I. Am. Not. Happy. (hide spoiler)]

Daemon is being cryptic. And it's not the good kind. Not the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen. It's the kind that makes you go

Really Daemon? How's she special exactly? Because she gardens? Because she keeps staring at him? How exactly? I'd love to know.



"I could tell from the stiff set of his shoulders, this places was special to him. Just knowing that kind of made my stomach flutter."
Can ya? Can ya tell really? Because it seems to me that you're trying so hard to make all his actions about you even though he's a complete jerk to you.

And the worst part is I know this is how it's going to turn out in the book which pisses me off even more. (hide spoiler)]

Then there's the whole being "coerced" into going swimming with him in the first place because her mom misunderstood. Can't you just tell your mom? Do we need the drama? Do we really?

He stared at me a long moment, then jerked his chin toward the woods. "Want to go on a hike?"... I watched him go down the steps as I chewed my lip. This was crazy. I'd been dying of boredom for days. Rolling my eyes, I called out, "All right, let's do this."



I wouldn't say crazy. I would say a lot of things but crazy is definitely not one of them. Desperate maybe the word I'd use. I'd say Kat has a very peculiar definition of the word "crazy". (hide spoiler)]

She just has some trust issues. I mean then there is this one part in the second book oh. Hahhaha Mira you're so funny... I know the feeling and unfortunately even though I really did like this book, Kat is so dumb and annoying get's even more annoying as the books progress... I must say though that the "first kiss" scene in this book is one of my all time faves

Daemon and Katy's attraction is off the charts man!
And when he's answering her questions, he had to show her that he had those working parts... you know what I'm talking about

@Rachael IKR! I'm glad you agree. I'm starting to get into it but I seriously dislike her. It sucks that she's just gonna get dumber and more annoying. I was hoping she'd get less dumb and annoying as the book progress. Oh well at least I have that scene to look forward to!

@Christina I'm still at 44% and I have other buddy reads this month so I highly doubt that I'd be able to read Onyx soon. I can read it later if I end up liking this one but not anytime soon. Sorry :\

Finished. Okay I like it. (view spoiler)[ The story turned out to be not half bad. The alien powers are pretty cool. I was incredibly happy that Katy actually saved him both times which defies the usual damsel in distress cliche. BUT I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have considering I'm into sci-fi and paranormal books. How can I ever enjoy a story when the narrator is annoying the hell out of me? I'm still working on that question.

The final scene when they were deciding whether or not to start dating put me off. I couldn't buy the whole hard to get attitude from her after the make out session that ended with "now you're barely glowing." Also in the scenes from Daemon's pov he points out "If I didn’t know better, I’d think she liked our little fights, too." I was glad someone liked those "little" fights because I sure did not. And it looks like there would be from where that came from in the next book so I'm not entirely sure I can handle that. Though I did like the story and want to go on with it, I'm not sure how I am going to put up with those people again. (hide spoiler)]

@Christina (view spoiler)[ Her attraction is bordering on stalker! And with the way he treats her it's downright desperate. That scene you're referring to, while weird and creepy, was kind of funny. I expected something to happen after that but nothing did which made it creepier. Who does that?!
