Ladies...

Nominations are closed as I mentioned above. Its voting time. Go to the polls to place your vote.

BTW, for future reference, if something has already been nominated, it does not need to be nominated again. thanks!

I´m so sorry! I thought I was voting by saying the name of the book here xD

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I wanna do this right so: can we vote for a book each category or jsut one book in total?

Oops, I read right over it! So glad it's there ... ;o)
BTW, is it just one vote for each category?

JG (Introverted Reader) I voted for AGATB. It's been on my list forever, I need a push to get it to the top. And I've already read ICTC on Fiona's recommendation, so it's (G)Emma's turn. I will get to Howl's one day though. I promise!

Liz, each poll will only allow you to vote once. So yup.... one per poll. I figured creating two polls was the best way to get more than one vote in, and using two different catagories stops people from voting for the same book twice... hee hee...

Its been working out well so far :)

Liesl (lieslm) | 170 comments Me too, Fiona. It's one of the reasons I'd so like to see In the Time of the Butterflies chosen. I added it to my TBR in November because it looked so interesting and it's really what I want to read next.

message 170: by julie (new)

julie (maguire708) I just got A Course Called Ireland as a GR First Read win and the first 5 pages have been really good (and I am a TOTAL non-golfer, so if it was more golf than Ireland I would tell you!) Anyhow, that's my pick as an Irish book for March since I'd love company on this journey.

I will be posting discussion threads for these two novels on the first of the month.

In the meantime, who is joining us for these reads?
I've heard tons of great things on both of them, however, I dont own either one of them.... So I might have to choose which I would rather read more........

message 177: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Yay!! I can read both and use both for the Spring Challenge! This is the first time that I will be able to participate in a discussion, since I can only read what I already own.

message 178: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Haha... I know what you mean Fiona. I've got some long ones coming up soon. I'm going to have to make a reading schedule and stick to it in order to finish everything I have planned.

message 179: by Ann from S.C. (new)

Ann from S.C. | 1395 comments I have read both of these books and loved them both!! Great choices, but I don't think I will be rereading them.

message 180: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 23, 2009 11:38PM) (new)

Nuts... yet again I don't own either of the winners ... I've read Angel's Ashes, but I don't have my copy any longer ... I'll see if I can get it at the library, otherwise I'll wait for April *sniff*

message 181: by Claire (new)

Claire | 30 comments Angela's Ashes is great - an appropriate Irish read. Though - I don't think I'll read it again at this stage.

Water for Elephants - that means I have to go shopping... Danger Danger! I'll join in if I finish two of my current books in the next week.

message 182: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinsullivan) | 997 comments I'm definitely "in" for Water for Elephants - I just did this book for a "face2face" book club. I'm not sure about "Angela's Ashes" - Not sure it is "my cup of tea".

message 183: by Angela (new)

Angela | 1934 comments I read Water for Elephants and was surprised how much I liked it! I will be interested to see what group members post. I may read the other book....

Gretchen | 53 comments i read water for Elephant and its one of my favs! im going to have to go shopping for Angela's ashes... hehe! hopefully its an easy find because im not going to be able to go the book store for a bit. is it a popular book?

message 187: by Jen B (new)

Jen B (jennybee618) I'm a little bummed...In the Woods was holding its own for a long time! I think that will be my Irish read. However, I've wanted to read Water for Elephants for awhile, and Border's just sent me a 25% off coupon to tempt me to buy it. If only I could work it into my Spring Challenge. Think an elephant qualifies as a spring animal? :)

i want to but i dont know if ill be able to find it!

message 191: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments I've read Water for Elephants so will join in on that one. Angela's Ashes is on my to-read somewhere down the line, so maybe I'll jump on that as well. Just depends on if I'm able to find it at one of the used bookstores or on one of the swapping sites. I'm trying to stay out of the big bookstores for a while, too expensive ...

message 192: by Sera (new)

Sera Water for Elephants is awesome - enjoy!

I have AA but never read it so I will be joining the group this month for that read. YAY!

message 193: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1000 comments Angela's Ashes is one of the few books I have reread...I love it! I may just read it again with the rest of you.

I haven't read Water for Elephants yet but I am excited to try it!

message 194: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 1045 comments I have read Water for Elephants. It is great! I will participate in the discussion of it. I hope you who haven't read it have a good read.

message 195: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melitious) I've already read Water for Elephants, so I'm happy to join in the discussion and I'm "mooching" a copy of Angela's Ashes, so I can participate in that one.

message 196: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I read Angela's Ashes a long time ago, but I think it was a little too depressing to read again. I DO want to read Water For Elephants, so I will probably get it this weekend.

it would be great to encourage me to finally after al those years not just pick up and put back Angela's ashes to finally read it also now....it jsut give me a feeling of pesimism when i pick it up.

message 199: by Andrew (new)

Andrew (dad-man) | 155 comments Excellent! Two books I own and have yet to read! Couldn't get any better than that. =-)

message 200: by Joanie (new)

Joanie | 714 comments I've read and loved both. Angela's Ashes was close to 10 years ago so I might re-read that one but I just read WFE over the summer.

Jen, I was hoping for In the Woods too-want to do a mini group read?
