Best of luck today Chris! You got this! :]

What are you going to read?
10:03am EST. Cold and gray, good day to stay in and read. Hub had to work the night shift Sat and now is on 2-11 this week. It really throws our schedule off. So now I'm drinking coffee and waiting for him to wake up. Watching an old Bette Davis movie on TCM. I love to watch movies from the 20s, 30s and 40s. (I would love to have been a flapper or a Ziegfeld girl in 1920 New York.) Son is home from hospital but he hasn't been able to get his meds. He was approved for Medicare part D effective 11/01, but he doesn't have the card and he can't afford his meds without it. I'm kind of worried about him not having them. Drug prices are just so outrageous.
Chris, good luck on your first day!!
Cindy, hang in there. I'm on those kinds of meds too, and it just takes a while for them to be effective.
Happy Monday everyone!

I SO love TCM! The actors then were the real deal. I rarely watch TV anymore but that's definitely my go-to channel when I do.

Good luck today, Chris!!

Chris, good luck!
11:36 a.m. EST Had hoped to sleep a bit more but having a great deal of discomfort this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to concentrate enough to start my editing.
10:37AM Spent the morning watching The Polar Express with Aves. I love that movie. Now he is watching Rudolph. LOL Doing laundry, voted in the GR 2013 book awards, and have not even read one page yet today. LOL

That is the same way I am
4:17PM Dinner just finished cooking Baked Fish, Steam Broccoli, and stir fry rice noodles. First time I ever cooked rice noodles and they turned out very good. Although Kay though it was like having a mouthful of hair. LOL

Good luck Chris, I hope your first few days at your new job go really well and that everyone is really nice to work with :)
8:48 p.m. and just got home. I'm beginning to view the warehouse as my true home, at least until Christmas. Watching The Voice tonight and starting Carrion Comfort in the morning. I'm hyped, but really tired. My hometown girl is still in the running on The Voice. Can't let her down. Gotta watch.

Carrion Comfort is an awesome read. Really creeped me out. One of the best books I have ever read.
**Update: I just added 2 more books to my TBR, and now it is 820!!! WTF??!!! *dammit*

One more day of orientation and the. I'll be at my office Wednesday to get my training materials and start work at home for the next 8 weeks. So far I think I will really love working for this company. Thank you all for the well wishes. I really appreciate you all thinking of me.
11:46PM Have not had much of a chance for reading today, so I am gonna read a bit right now before bed.
Kathryn sounds like you are gonna have a busy week. Enjoy the opera, I don't think I could stand it myself I don't like that kind of music at all. I also am enjoying The Sleeping Doll.
Chris glad to hear that you like this new company. I hope you are happier with this job than you were with your last! Good luck!

Janie, Mark and I have never been to the opera, so it will be a neat experience for us both. It is always neat to find something neither of us have done and be able to do them together. Opera music isn't our thing either, but it is the making of a memory. Lol!
10:51am EST. Had a horrible night. My son, who is only 3 days out of the hospital, had almost a complete breakdown last night. He was in a car accident and did extensive damage to his car. We caught him shooting up drugs in his room. He was so out of it we could hardly rouse him. When he woke up he was belligerent and angry. He stormed out of the house and went for a walk (This was at 11pm.) He ended up walking in the woods in our neighborhood and fell into the creek. The police brought him home, got him some dry clothes, and took him back to the hospital. At this point he is still feeling sorry for himself and trying to place the blame anywhere he can. He kept saying "I"m weak, I can't help it, I should just be dead." It's heartbreaking and so difficult as a parent to deal with this. I just don't know what is going to happen. Needless to say, I'm not good for much today. I hardly got any sleep, and I can't even concentrate to read. So it's just a waiting game at this point to see what happens. Thanks for letting me vent everyone.

Cindy, don't overdo it if you can help it!
Chris, glad to hear you're enjoying the new job so far. It makes all the difference, that's for sure.
12:56 p.m. EDT Feeling a bit better today. Didn't sleep as much as I wanted, but at least I'm not as miserable as yesterday. Need to finish this editing!

6:29PM Had a big lunch so I had a banana for dinner. Did a small workout. Aeverie got his finger caught in the door and it was pretty bad. He is much better now. I read a few more pages in The Sleeping Doll, it is really a good book. Hopefully will get to read more this evening.
Terri I am so sorry to hear about the continued problems with your son. And you are doing all that you can do for him. I know that it is so very stressful, and I can not even imagine dealing with one of my kids going through these problems. I know it does not really help to hear that you can't help him if he can't help himself. But as I have learned, it is such a true statement. We can only pray that he will come to a point in his life and finally decide that he has had enough of it and clean up his life. Please don't feel like any of it is your fault. I am here if you ever need an ear. (((HUGS)))

Wow-- I missed this earlier.
OMG, so sorry things are going so rough for you all right now, Terri. It sounds like you've gone way above and beyond the call of duty, so try not to be too hard on yourself. I imagine that's right next to impossible, though, but we're pulling for you.

10:38AM Having a decent morning. Better than yesterday simply because I remembered the alarm. LOL Aeverie is watching the Grinch! He enjoys that movie. I have read a little bit today so that is good. Hope to read more if Aves allows it. Been hooked on The Twelve, sorry guys I could not stop. Ran into a really great twist! I will try to quit once I hit 150 I promise.

12:38PM Had lunch and now reading while Aeverie eats his lunch as well. I need to switch over to Ashes to Ashes and stop with The Twelve. LOL

Terri, my heart breaks for you. I can't imagine. I don't know any one personally that has gone through this but have heard of some of my friends relatives that did benefit from, http://www.nar-anon.org/naranon/
I know there is an on line production and even a Kindle application. My prayers are with you..

Janie, I could watch the Grinch over and over, sooo cute! Looking forward to all the Great Christmas movies.

Having dinner with my mom and dad, then I go to my new drawing class!

Thank you, Susan! It's not the fanciest, nicest place, but it does have good food. :) It's getting chilly here in Texas, so I agree! It's getting to be fire weather. I'm SO glad we have a fireplace! :) Hope you're doing well! :)

7:15AM Made Spaghetti for dinner this evening, however I decided to just have a salad. Then we took a walk to the playground. I hate that it gets dark so much faster now. So Aves did not get to play as long. But the walk is always good, we even ran a little bit too.
Aeverie went to sleep already. So I guess it was enough to make him tired. I just hope he sleeps through. He is about an hour early. LOL
I am planning on reading some here in a few. Switched over to Ashes to Ashes. The 3 books I am reading are all pretty good. So sometimes hard to decide what I wanna read. I have another buddy read coming up about mid week.
Kathryn it really was pretty chilly today! But I like this weather. We had about 57 this evening and Aeverie still enjoyed the walk as did I.

Janie, it got chilly fast! I enjoy this type of weather, too. It helps me sleep better, actually. It makes for lovely reading and coffee weather. ;)
