Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:52 a.m. EDT Okay, wow *gasping a bit* just spent close to 3 hours setting up all the posts for blog tours and cover reveals and such over the next week and a half. I have a bunch of posts scheduled, but of course I won't be around much to let folks know. Anyway, I have something on almost every day for the next week or so, so watch my blog and leave me some comment love! *laugh* Now I can settle in to read. My husband is looking at the schedule and taking some notes of things we want to do at DragonCon (Klingon Karaoke? Oh hells yes...), and while I STILL don't have a wheelchair... we'll I'll ask my doctor later this morning if he has any advice or can maybe loan me one for the weekend... So next I have to give my husband the address for my friend's tour on Thursday, and hopefully he'll work out where registration is and all that. Wow... back in October it seemed SO FAR AWAY and suddenly here we are... O.O Time does fly, doesn't it? Right, now I have to finish e-mail.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:55 AM. Good morning, GR! Watching a bit of news while I get some laundry started. I didn't do any of it yesterday as I had expected. Anyways, I really need to go to the grocery store, but that is going to wait a while. For now, it's coffee and some of A Game of Thrones. I really need to focus and get more of it read today.

10:28AM Got some much needed sleep. And what a beautiful morning! Kay did go to school today even though she has caught this nasty cold. Randy stayed home again today. He will return to work tomorrow. I have not caught it yet, thank goodness. Ended up getting quite a bit read yesterday even though I had Aeverie in the latter half of the day. I got just about 175 pages read. So that makes me happy. Today I am gonna read more of Gingerbread Man and maybe get that done before the month is over. It really is a good one. I am enjoying it. Good Morning GR friends!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 11:57 a.m. EDT Oh, wow, I'm so hungry! I was planning to grab something on the way back from the doctor's office, but Dmitry informed me at 5 this morning he had to be to work at 10... O.O so I had to call the doctor's office as soon as it opened to reschedule. *sigh* Guess I'll have to have something delivered, or see if the sourdough bread is still edible. Anyway... I just finished this amazing book: Yonni Hale and the Cosmic Wind. As near as I can tell, it's only available on Smashwords. Now, the problem is that it's a diamond in the rough: it needs some serious polishing. But if you can look past that? What a wonderful story! I'm the only one with it on my shelves here on Goodreads, and was the first to review it on Smashwords despite it being out for almost two years, so ... also an undiscovered diamond in the rough! I hope some folks will take a chance on it. And it also led to me completing my A-Z challenge this morning! wOOt! Hope everyone has a great day!

Alondra Miller 8:21pm ET. Finished The Passage last night and wrote my review. I really loved this book, and it is definitely worth a reread.

Time to eat another piece of chocolate and start reading ... I don't wanna go to work... wwwaaahhhh

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 7:45 PM. I had a great workout earlier, took a shower, then went grocery shopping. I have been cooking dinner: French fried onion chicken, red potatoes with butter and fresh dill, and steamed fresh green beans. After I clean the kitchen, I am going to try to read. Notice I said "try"....lol

Hey Sean! How are you? Life is good here, for the most part.

Alondra, chocolate sounds good. I've got your favorite: brownies. :) Hope you have an enjoyable night! :)

8:16PM Had a good work out after dinner, then walked to the playground with Aves. We played there for a bit, then walked back. Got home and Aves had his bath and here I am. I think he will fall asleep relatively early tonight. Been stuck on Gingerbread Man. It is pretty darn good. I really like the detective, he is very likeable. A first time read for me with this Author. So I wanna finish this one up by tomorrow. Got to 250 on A Game of Thrones, will read more of that when Aves is not here lol. Hard to focus on it when he is here. My reading has been good for this month though. So that makes me happy.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:45 PM. I read some earlier, but decided to come to bed to continue reading. Feeling a little blah..I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and put moisturizer on, and now I'm in bed about to read again.

Just thinking: I miss Terri and Cindy tonight. I hope they are both doing well. :)

message 6162: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, yeah, we haven't seen either of them for a couple days. Hope all is well!

1:11 a.m. EDT Dmitry found a couple wheelchairs for sale around town for between $65 and $85, which is probably less than renting one for a weekend (but more than stealingborrowing one), so we'll be making some calls tomorrow. He has to play chauffeur to some of his coworkers tomorrow and drive them to Atlanta, then again on Thursday to pick up my friend from the airport and do DragonCon registration, then again Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday... there will be MUCH driving to Atlanta over the next week! Still, we're hoping to meet some of our favorite authors, like: A.J. Scudiere, Jim Butcher, John Ringo, George Takei... I have metallic colored sharpies and a pen and a journal and we'll take our e-readers and ask for autographs... it'll be EPIC!!

I keep saying that, but for some reason, I alway get distracted. I managed to read some last night, though. Coffee, here I come!

11:21AM Been up a few hours and managed to finished The Gingerbread Man. It was a really good story. So today I wanna focus on A Game of Thrones, but Aves is still here so I am not sure he will let me focus enough. I guess I will get started and see what happens.

Ouch Jordan, I have been there so I know what you mean. I hope you feel better. My son has done that to me several times when he was younger. Good luck with the kiddos.

12:20PM and I'm working today. I have also noticed a lack of Terri and Cindy. I hope they are doing well and can pop by for a visit soon too.

Good luck to everyone on your reading today, I am hopeful to get something read today even if it is just my audio book.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, geez, Jordan - ouch. Take care of yourself!

1:57 p.m. EDT Dmitry is out picking up my new wheelchair and then we're going to do lunch. I'm thinking about picking up a cell phone, one of those pay-by-the-minute ones, and maybe cutting my hair. Haven't quite decided on that one yet, but the ends are a mess today and it's making me nuts so I sort of just want it OFF...

message 6171: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:00 PM. Dinner is eaten and cleaned up. I made Jambalaya with sausage and steamed cabbage. It was yummy! I had an awesome workout earlier, and the weather cooling off seems to be helping. I want some grapes, so I think I'm going to rinse some off and drink some coffee while I read. Wait...who am I kidding? I think I'll have a brownie with coffee, but maybe the grapes before so I can get my fruit in. :)

8:17PM Well Aves is asleep already, I just hope he stays there. I did not get to read any of A Game of Thrones yet today. :/ Oh well. Had Tuna Salad sandwiches and some fresh peas today for dinner, did my work out and I feel pretty good. Got out of the shower and had some coffee, just finishing up with that. And now hopefully settle in with some AGOT. I really just wish I was done with it LOL.

Kathryn still in the high 90's here ugh. I am so ready for fall!

1.02pm thought I'd catch up with my lovely GR friends during my lunch break. I was going to try and squeeze in my grocery shopping so I wouldn't have to do it after work, but the list was too long :/

It's such a dreary day here today. Hopefully later tonight I can cozy up on the couch and watch some Breaking Bad. I am so badly addicted to that show. I've just started season 4 and trying to get through it as quickly as possible since season 5 only has a couple of episodes until it's finished... this obsession is probably the reason I'm not getting any reading done!

message 6179: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Rest well, Cindy.

12:34 a.m. EDT Just clearing out e-mail, turning off FB notifications and generally preparing for the tornado this weekend will be. The wheelchair Dmitry found is very nice, although it has only small wheels so he'll have to push or I'll have to use my feet to pull myself... *laugh* Still, it'll beat the pain walking would cause. Going to the airport tomorrow to pick up my friend, then preregistering. Have our weekend scheduled fairly well, and looking forward to the fun!

message 6180: by [deleted user] (new)

7:37am EDT. Hey, everyone! I haven't posted in quite a while so I'm trying to catch up with everyone. Just been on a real downer lately for no particular reason. I've been losing myself in books to try and cope. So now I"m enjoying my coffee and checking out GR. I've got the laundry going and that's my only task for today. It's been so hot and humid here, I've been pretty much house bound.

Kathryn, have you been keeping up with Project Runway? It's one of my guilty pleasures. It's been an interesting season so far.

Have a great day everyone!

message 6181: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 8:22 a.m. EDT Well, as is typical, when I'm exhausted and really need to sleep and only have a limited time within which to do it, I just ... can't. So, I'm running on empty and the weekend is only starting. *frustrated* Oh, well. Maybe I'll nap in the car or something. Anyway, guess I'll read for awhile. Need to wake Dmitry up soon, we have to head out at 10 to reach the airport in time. Hope everyone has a great day!

7:45AM Had a good nights rest, Kay feeling a little better today was able to go to school. Randy and I will be taking Aves home today. My son Derek will be leaving for work shortly. Made us all breakfast of Eggs and hash browns. Aeverie is watching Bolt, and in a few hours we will be heading out for our day. Once we drop Aves we will be on our own today. Will be nice for just the hub and I to be together. We don't ever get days like that. Have a good day everyone.

Cindy hope you got some much needed rest and I hope you get to read after work today.

Terri I hope your days get brighter. We are so fortunate to have books to kind of take us away when we need it most.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:45 AM. I have been up for a while. I didn't sleep too well last night, but thank goodness for coffee! I'm happy to see a post from Terri this morning! The kitty girls are happy today, especially because Gizmo girl has been extra snuggly at night. She has been sleeping next to my neck between Mark and me. I'm going to get some coffee going here soon so I can read more of AGOT.

Terri, I didn't know you watched PR! This has been an interesting season for sure! I'm not sure who my favorite designer is yet, but I do like some of Kate's, Dom's, and a few others' designs. I was glad Tim saved Joshua last weekend. I didn't think what he made was as bad as that yellow beach dress what's her name made. How about you?

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:46 PM. After my 50 minute run, my friend and I went on a 3.5 mile nature trail hike. Then, I ran to the store on my way home, picked up a few things for dinner, put gas in my car, took a shower, made dinner, and now we are watching Project Runway. I am worn out! Going to be sore tomorrow! Hope I get to read some tonight. I ended up not getting to read because I felt so sick all day until about 3:30. Feeling much better now. Oh, and I'm so happy I'm here with my sweet Mark. Love him. :)

It's been a very busy day, starting with a run at 6.30am... it was good and bad... bad because I used to be able to run the 6km in 35-40 minutes and today it took me 45-50, but good because it was nice to be outside in the fresh air and getting the heart pumping. Rushed around in my lunch break buying birthday presents for 3 people, fathers day pressie for my brother and last minute ingredients for entertaining the friends and family this weekend! Now, off home to begin the cooking process. Hoping to start The Husband's Secret this weekend - it sounds fantastic.
