Jessie Radford (ladysdeath) 9:52 pm, I'm on ebay book shopping. sorry I haven't been on for awhile :x looking for some great book suggestions. any would be appreciated.

message 5602: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Jessie. Anything by Cheryl Rainfield or Randy Attwood is good. I've loved everything I've read from either of them. Vera Nazarian has a lot of great stuff, and so does Matt Posner. That should give you a start!

10:06 p.m. EDT I can't sleep, but I'm too tired to see straight. This is annoying. I think I'll read so I don't end up making editing mistakes, missing something big 'cause I'm half dead over here.

9:52PM Well Hub took us out to Subway for dinner this evening which works out well for me. LOL I had a good workout, then took a swim with Kay & Aeverie. Now I am gonna read some more of Showdown. I wanna finish it tomorrow, so we will see.

Jessie what genre of book are you looking for?

message 5604: by Jessie (new)

Jessie Radford (ladysdeath) I mostly like horror, fantasy, mystery, paranormal/ urban fantasy or anthology. But I don't mind suggestions in any genre

message 5605: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, horror and urban fantasy/paranormal, then you definitely want to check out Tamed! It's crazy cool.

9:40AM Just had breakfast, Aeverie is watching movies. He will for a few more minutes LOL Then he will be in here asking to sit with me and play games lol. Plan on reading Showdown today and would love to finish it, but that will prolly be tomorrow instead.

Jessie, my favorite Paranormal Author is Graham Masterton, he is not the foo foo paranormal type though, he is pretty hard core. Favorite for horror is Stephen King, who else? Also Joe Hill, Robert McCammom is another favorite along with Richard Laymon. LOL I also love mystery, probably my favorite genre along with horror. Favorite in Mystery is Jeffery Deaver, James Patterson, Greg Iles, Lisa Jackson, so many for that genre, and then I also have a favorite for Christian fiction, he writes adrenalin based novels that get your heart pumping, Ted Dekker, he is pretty awesome. Hope this gives you some ideas.

message 5610: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, yeah, Graham Masterson is awesome. So is Robert R. McCammon.

I heard of Masterson a lot, but I haven't read anything yet. Someone told me he wrote for Penthouse or something. I was surprised to hear that. Now McCammon I know all about. He was one of the pioneers of the Horror Writers Association, who awards the Bram Stoker Award. I've read most of his stuff. I'm into the second half of the Matthew Corbett series now, which I think is his best stuff. I would like to revisit the novella BLUE WORLD. Not the short stories but the novella BLUE WORLD itself.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 11:37 p.m. EDT Dmitry ended up being to tired after a double shift to take me out to the birthday party tonight *sigh* Oh, well, I need to do this editing anyway, and have a ton of books I need to read/review before the 8th. Like, at least 10 books. So I have some heavy-duty reading to finish! Just clearing out some e-mail for now.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Good luck with your reading Kathryn. I seem to be back in a reading funk where I just can't seem to find time to read and when I have time, I choose to do other things.

11:24AM Working. Day 2 of 6 in a row so I already have my countdown to my next day off going.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:37 p.m. EDT Less than 100 pages left to edit, then lots of lots of lots of (did I mention lots of?) reading to do! It'll be a crazy weekend/next week y'all!

5:15 p.m. and I'm actually feeling decent physically. Gonna attempt to do some reading. However, the doc has me on some temporary pain meds that kinda knock me out. We'll just see how it goes.

message 5626: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Glad you're feeling better, Cindy!

5:46 p.m. EDT Okay, free for the next week and a half from editing, so time to do some reading *cracks knuckles* Have a three-book series, a four-book series, and 3 1/2 Amazon Vine books to read; the two series have to BOTH be finished by the 9th... WHEEEEEEE!!!

message 5627: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck Katy! I'm gonna catch up on posts and go to bed. Hate it that the pain meds kinda knock me out, but I do like being pain-free for several hours. It really helps. Hope everyone is having a great night. Back to work tomorrow.

message 5628: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:36 a.m. EDT Hitting the four-book series first through the weekend, then the three book series next week, then the Vine books. Just line 'em up and knock 'em down! Wheeee! Will probably need to sleep soon, though...

5:41AM Wow went to bed at 9:00PM Last night. I was very tired I guess. Today is our Six Flags excursion! So the family is pretty excited about that. We got what we needed yesterday but I forgot to make my hummus. LOL I guess I will do that before we go.

Cindy glad the pain meds are working for you and you can have a reprieve from the pain. It is no fun having chronic pain, or any pain for that matter. Have a great morning everyone!

message 5630: by [deleted user] (new)

Hope you have a great time Janie!

9:51am EDT. Having a relaxing morning drinking coffee and checking out GR. I finished 3 books last night/early this am, and I'm starting 3 new ones when I'm done with this post. Reading lots of good stuff lately. Friday=Pizza night--YAY! Hope you all have a great weekend.

message 5631: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:11 AM. Woke up to the beautiful rain. Gizmo slept with me until 6:00 AM, so not only did I sleep better, but it made me happy. I think she missed sleeping with me, too. Going to make some coffee, eat a bowl of cereal, and try to finish my book.

Glad to see Terri post! I've missed her! Janie, hope you and the family have a great time at Six Flags!

Happy Friday, everyone!

message 5632: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:27 p.m. EDT *facepalm* I had read 8 chapters of the book I started this morning ,and was wondering "Why doesn't this match the synopsis? Did the synopsis end up on the wrong book or something?" and then thought to check... and I had opened the wrong book. *headdesk* So, now I have to start all over. Dang it... *pulls hair*

message 5633: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments That's a bummer Katy, but at least you can start on chapter 8 once you get to that book. You are just an over achiever. Good luck with you read-a-thon.

Janie, I hope you guys have a great time at Six Flags, I haven't been to ours in years. No time I guess.

Terri so glad to hear you are having a relaxing morning. Always good to be relaxed with a good book. Really glad to see you posting again also.

Well very glad you are moving along so quickly. Hope you are enjoying it.

Kit, I love watching Tom and Jerry with my son. It is so funny to watch him laugh himself silly as I am sure I did as a kid. Sounds like you are having a good night. Pizza sounds delicious.

8:12PM still at work but I have less than an hour to go. Day 3 of 6 so half way through till my day off. It has been really slow and the boss is on vacation so I brought my book and finished it tonight. Now I actually feel productive.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:50 a.m. EDT This Riga Hayworth series by Kirsten Weiss is awesome. I have no idea where I heard about it, but I had collected half the series when she contacted me to review the last one. I'm really enjoying them!

Cindy, sorry to hear the meds are making you feel sick. I hate when that happens. Hope they at least help some.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 12:34 AM. Beat. Mark and I helped his friend move into his apartment since he and his wife are splitting up. We three were drenched with sweat because it is so humid. We stopped and got Wendy's on the way home because we hadn't eaten yet, took showers, and now I'm in bed. Mark is already asleep, but I am going to try to read a few pages to wind down. Gizmo is already snuggled up with me, which you all know I love when she snuggles! Goodnight GR!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:51 a.m. EDT Feeling pretty wiped out. Every time I try to eat, I'll eat a little and then I'll feel sick, so ... haven't managed to eat much the last couple days. Ordered a big thing of fried rice earlier today, so I'll eat that a little bit at a time as long as I can and hopefully the rice will help things. Anyway, think I'll be going to sleep soon. Hope everyone is having a great day.
