What books have you bought lately?
I bought Weaveworld from Amazon, as I had been going to read this for a while now, but it's on sale for 1.99, so now became the time to buy it, and i'll be reading it next
So I went on another spree lol. I got the day after tomorrow by Allan Folsom. The first phone call from heaven and the five people you meet in heaven by Mitch albom. Tortilla flat by John Steinbeck. Amos fortune by Elizabeth Yates. The almost moon by Alice sebold. Even the stars look lonesome by maya Angelou.
Mikana I got Weaveworld not too long ago. I am not sure when I will get to it though. It does sound interesting though.
Had a few cents to spare:War and Peace. Can't run away from this one anymore. I'll climb this mountain.
The Time Machine
No, Janie I have not read it. It is a short read so I might beable to fit it in in Oct. Lots on the TBR list. Go on without me.
LOL ok Susan. We don't have to continue it till you are ready. Considering this was supposed to be our buddy read lol. I am fine with waiting. I did not even list it on any of my monthly TBR's LOL
It's okay. No problem :-) if Mary can fit it in I will try. On another subject, was it you that said you started the Lincoln Rymes series and became disenchanted?
Susan I should be able to fit it in. I hear that it is a quick read. Hope you can join us next month. :)
Susan yea I liked the first couple of books of the Lincoln Rhyme series and then I just did not like the direction that he took Amelia Sachs. I think Katherine liked it all though but not sure.
I think Fifty Shades is a pretty quick read.
I think Fifty Shades is a pretty quick read.
Argh,.., Janice I just bought wayyyy too many. I probably will not like all of them so some will most likely go back but man there were so many good ones. There were also many good ones that I had already read. Good luck with your choices.
It was my birthday a couple of weeks back, and I've been holding out waiting for a couple of books to come out in Paperback as opposed to Hardback. I bought Four: A Divergent Collection, and Clariel with my birthday cash, and also bought The Shining on payday :)
I went a little bonkers at my local library sale. All the books were $0.50-$2.00. In the Shadow of Blackbirds, The Girl in 6E, Beyond Reach, Unseen, The Madman's Daughter, Nevermore, The Private School Murders, The Paris Mysteries, The Postcard Killers, The Beautiful and the Cursed, Darkfever, The First Counsel, Pushing the Limits, Shutter Island, Darkness, Tell Us, Dead and Alive, Wedding Night, The Island, A Summer Affair, Summerland, The Girl on the Train, A Discovery of Witches, The Bone Garden, Unnatural Creatures, The Alibi, Best Kept Secrets, Breath of Scandal, Deadline, Envy, Fat Tuesday, French Silk, Hello, Darkness,Standoff, The Witness, Smash Cut, and Tough Customer. Plus my hubby and son got a few books too.
I couldn't believe how good the prices were and how great the condition of the books were. I really need to stop buying books. LOL
Wow Andrea! Great haul. I have heard lately that The Girl in 6E is really good. You will have to let me know what you think of it. So many great titles!
I finally made a decision on which books to purchase from Audible's Win Win sale:Blaze
Born with Teeth
The Girl in 6E
The Secret Keeper
Sandman Slim
Great Janelle! Do you have all of the Outlander books now? I am still looking for some. I'm going to have to order from Amazon 3rd party.
Great books Janice! I've been wanting to read The Secret Keeper I'm going to read that after I read The House at Riverton
Janice I hear that is suppose to be good! I haven't read anything by her yet. I will be next month though.
Mary, I only have 1-5. I keep waiting for the prices to get at their lowest and then I make the buy.
I picked up a few books over the weekend:The Bone Clocks
Lover Eternal
The Element of Fire
Wicked as They Come
Their Eyes Were Watching God
The Spider and the Stone: A Novel of Scotland's Black Douglas
That should keep me reading till I'm 90. (Along with the other books in my library.)
This weekend I ordered Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Illustrated Edition and Salem's Lot from Amazon. I also purchased The Shining from Barnes and Noble. From my used bookstore I picked up Gone, Baby, Gone.
Janie wrote: "Nice haul Andrea!"Thanks Janie! I am trying to go outside my box. I haven't been able to locate a copy of Edgewise for the read along. My used bookstore did not have it. My library didn't have it. Barnes and Noble didn't have it and they told me it was out of print. :(
Andrea you can get it Amazon, third party relatively cheap, or if that does not work you can get a free trial of Audible and receive Edgewise for free. It is definitely a book to get ahold of.
This are the books I admit to:Death in the Clouds: A Hercule Poirot Mystery
Death on the Nile
Them or Us
The Bottoms
The Last American Vampire
Cards on the Table (Hercule Poirot Mysteries)
Finders Keepers: A Novel (The Bill Hodges Trilogy)
The Walking Dead, Vol. 20: All Out War Part 1
The Walking Dead, Vol. 21: All Out War Part 2
Agents of Light and Darkness
Nightingale's Lament
Many others were bought last week at multiple UBSs.... :O
Great haul Alondra. I don't buy books as often as I used to, it kind of makes me sad. LOL I did just buy Career of Evil, book 3 of the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith. They had it for half price at Sam's.
I just bought Criminal by Karin SlaughterWritten in My Own Heart's BloodI now have the last 5 books of the Will Trent series
and with the Outlander Series, I'm getting these slowly but for surely. They are just so hard to find. I was going to get the last four books at Half Price Books but they only had the last one in the series. I will eventually have them all. Probably after Christmas because I get several Amazon Gift Cards every year for Christmas.

Oops! I had Marked listed twice instead of the second book in the series, Claimed. Fixed.
The premise does sound good. I love the covers of both books, not that it means they'll be good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
