What books have you bought lately?
Awesome Kit. I would be interested in hearing what you think about it.
So today I got a few more books. A couple that I duplicated, which I hate when I do that. I forgot to cross them off. I now have the complete set of odd thomas books. I also got The one I left Behind. Have been wanting to read that one. I got 2 more Chelsea Cain books, The Night Season and Evil at Heart. Also got Dan Brown's Deception Point. Hub loves him. And then I also got The lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It is supposed to be an awesome movie that I will watch after I read the book. I also picked up a nice Nicholas Sparks Hardback for $2 The Bend in the Road for my oldest daughter. She loves Nicholas Sparks. So I had a great day for books today.

Janie wrote: "I now have the complete set of odd thomas books."I have read all those and even some of the side ones. I absolute loved it at first but Koontz's conservative spiel got old to me by the end. And there is a lot redundancy in 'em. However, I LOVE IT when Odd Thomas waxes philosophical!
Again I have read like the first and do not remember a thing. I am hopeful that I will enjoy them. I love the Frankenstein series as well.

I have it but haven't felt compelled to read it. I wish King and Koontz would both come out with some new stand alone novels.
Holly wrote: "I loved Interview with the Vampire, J.S.!"The next one, "The Vampire Lestat" is one of my all time favorites.
Today I bought a hardback of The Dead Zone for a few dollars and Hubert Selby, Jr.'s, Waiting Period. :)
Chuck I agree, there is nothing wrong with stand alone books. There are not enough of them. So when you get a good stand alone it is most apprecated!

I loved the first 2 because that was all I could get at the time. Then to find out there are 3 more after that. I finally got all of them, but plan to reread the first 2 again before continuing, it has been a few years.

Best of the whole series IMO.

No doubt. I was really disappointed with the movie, Queen of the Damned. I feel like they could have made something really epic. I did, however, think the movie for "Interview of the Vampire" was one of those rare times when the movie is better than the book.
I came home from work yesterday only to discover that my husband had bought some wall shelves to put most of our DVDs in. The DVDs HAD been in a bookshelf. He said that we needed more room for all my books. :)

Nah, I still liked the book better.

Haha I was going to start it tonight, is that too soon?! If so, just let me know when you want to do it and I'll read something else in the meantime (I still have 37 books to go for my 2013 challenge so I have plenty to choose from!) :)
I can't work out how to do a group message, but just wondering who is keen to read Fight Club? I'm ready to start straight away or we could make a date in a week/fortnight/month if that suits people better?

I've already read it but I'll stop in to join in the discussion. :)
Maybe we can aim for 14th Feb or something like that? Will stay in touch and work it out a bit later :)
I don't mind making it for a later date Veronica, I have stacks of books to keep me going in the meantime! :D
I got some new books in the post today...Youth in Revolt, In the Miso Soup, The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. On Saturday I got some books from a car boot sale for $0.50 each... Like Water for Chocolate, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Gifted, The Little Stranger, My Brother Jack and The Riders.

How about the end of February?

Sounds like a wonderful book haul, Michelle!
I've had the Phillip Pullman books on my "to-read" list for quite awhile.. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on them.:)

I appreciate that, Chuck.:)
I recently purchased
for $.99. It was on sale so I couldn't resist, even though I've never read anything by this author before. I checked out the sample and thought, why not? :)
