I did not care for Hearts in Atlantis Corey, but it has been a long time, maybe I was just not in the mood for it when I read it. I will revisit one of these days and see for myself.

I know that it's not all one story, it's got like 3 or 4 different stories that all come together in the end.

So yesterday I bought Prodigy, the 2nd book in the legend series, because I am part of a read along for the series. And I also bought Through the Zombie Glass. I have it on my kindle and it was a great sequel so I wanted it in physical form. Still need to get Queen of the Zombie Hearts and read that.

message 3223: by Corey (new)

Corey | 1411 comments Went out today and bought Saint Odd (Odd Thomas, #7) by Dean Koontz , last copy on the shelf! Now I officially have the whole Odd Thomas series, YAY!

Yay Corey. I pretty much stopped reading them because I did not like the direction it was going. Maybe I will pick up #4 eventually, we will see. I really liked Odd's character a lot.

Squire (srboone) | 141 comments The Whispering Swarm (Sanctuary of the White Friars, #1) by Michael Moorcock --one of my favorite authors. 9 years since his last book!
The Man Who Loved Children by Christina Stead --a book recommended to me on GR; next on my TBR
Into the Shadows (Agenda 21, #2) by Glenn Beck --the first one was pretty good, but felt incomplete.

message 3236: by sanne_reads (new)

sanne_reads Any thoughts on the Percy Jackson series? I was thinking about ordering the box set but I'm wondering if the books are appropriate for my age (22). Because they are children's/YA books? i don't know exactly but i'm hoping some of you do.

message 3237: by Corey (new)

Corey | 1411 comments Made a trip to Goodwill and got a couple new books, On Secret Service by John Jakes and North and South (North and South, #1) by John Jakes .

Sanne I read middle grade books all the time and I am MUCH MUCH older than you. LOL I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I actually just read The first book in the Percy Jackson series, The Lightning Thief and I really enjoyed it. I plan to read through the entire series one book a month.

Corey, I have not been to the good will for such a long time. I fell a need to go and see what they got. Maybe later this month I will get there. :::fingers crossed:::

message 3240: by sanne_reads (new)

sanne_reads Haha okay thank you Janie! I read them too (like the harry potter series which is one of my favorites) but I was just wondering if it was maybe too childish and therefore not enjoyable to read for my age. Sometimes I'm at a lack of words for what I mean for english is not my native language but you understood what I ment though so that's good haha. Will be purchasing the books than.

I think that if we enjoy the books then we read anything ad really who cares what level they are. LOL Let me know what you think about Percy Jackson.
