message 2979: by Sam (new)

Sam Arnold (samharnold) Well having said I was not going to buy any books this month I went to Waterstones and brought loads. I had one of those days when virtually every book on my wish list jumped out at me.

I got the following:
Burial Rites - to read before the film comes out
The Handmaid's Tale - as recommended on book tube
American Psycho - another book tube recommendation
City of Fallen Angels
Clockwork Angel

message 2980: by Lucy (new)

Lucy (mesdupmoi) | 336 comments After the OH bought me The Maze Runner for my birthday, I spent a little of the money I got from a friend for my birthday on getting The Scorch Trials. I also bought The One Plus One :) I love Jojo Moyes, have done since I read The Girl You Left Behind

message 2981: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandainpa) | 19 comments Janie, Ollie's is amazing! I made a trip there a few days ago and picked up
Matched
Out of the Easy
The Wind Through the Keyhole
The Good Dream
Flash Point
Illusion

I saw the Vampire Academy series there in 2 box sets for $6.99 each but I passed on them after a lot of hemming and hawing. I just don't think I'd like them, I'm not a huge fan of paranormal (plus I can borrow them from my library if I change my mind.)

I also got a huge bag of mass markets (many Dean Koontz and crime fiction books) at the library. They let you fill a bag with paperbacks for a dollar, it's awesome!

message 2989: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 233 comments Thanks Janie and Susan. It is hard to pass up $1.00-$2.00 books. Plus the money goes to help our local library. It is a win-win situation. We are a family of readers so I was able to get something for each of us :)

message 2996: by Lucy (new)

Lucy (mesdupmoi) | 336 comments My friend bought me The Kill Order, The Death Cure and Plague as a late birthday presents, and the other half bought me The Maze Runner and The 100
I also bought The Scorch Trials and The One Plus One with money I was given for my birthday.
Do you think my friends and family know I am a bookworm?! I rarely get anything but books or vouchers for books these days, lol. Normally get a voucher for my kobo from my 2 kids at christmas too, haha! I feel like a kid when I talk about birthday money haha, but then I realise birthday money is something I have to start thinking of soon, since my boys are 2 and 6 !!
