Had some time to kill today, so guess where I went, Goodwill, where else, right? LOL! Today I got Journey To The Center Of The Earth, and Protect And Defend by Vince Flynn.
Janie wrote: "I have also heard good things, so I hope I like the series."Oh so you've never read anything by her either, well you know what I always say, first time for everything. LOL!
Years ago, I read the first Scarpetta book, Postmortem. I enjoyed it overall but found the writing and character development lacking. I also found it somewhat predictable and cliche.
Yes I know they were a bit predictable but I did enjoy them, especially the early books. I guess at the time it was interesting - forensics before CSI was on TV constantly.

Thanks Corey. The Finisher will be my first one of his novels. Can't wait to check it out. it's his first young adult book too.
Janie wrote: "Great haul for you Lucy! YAY!"I was rather impressed to find several books from the same author in a charity shop. After being recommended the author by a RL friend, I couldn't pass up the chance to get them all for so cheap!

I really hope you like it, Amber. Baldacci's good. I highly recommend Absolute Power.

Stopped by a cute little used bookstore while I was waiting for my car to be serviced today and picked up
. Another one down on my really long (over a decade now, with many breaks) quest to collect all of the Valdemar books :)
I got some books today we went to a really nice Thrift store and they had a great book section. All their books were 50% off too. So I got
The Book of Tomorrow
Cause of Death
A Great and Terrible Beauty
Friend Me
Salem Falls
Mischief

Victor I have too. I have that trilogy on my Kindle, but when I saw the first one for just 99c I had to get it, plus they had 50% on all books.

Janie wrote: "Great books Sam!"Have spent too much time looking for books but then what else do you do when you have to rest your knee lol
We bought books 5 and 6 of the Dark Tower series, Emma, Sense and Sensibility, Lord of the Rings (all 3 in one volume), Full Dark No Stars, and Perfect Storm.
A friend of mine is visiting and she bought me some books :) Evermore, One for the Money, Two for the Dough, High Five and To the Nines :) I already had 10 and 11 of the Evanovich series, so I am rather happy for these ones :)
Holly wrote: "Picked up a copy of Sycamore Row: A Novel yesterday. I'm so excited to read this one!!"Isn't that like a sequel to A Time To Kill, or a prequel? You'll have to let me know how it is Holly, I love John Grisham!
