Took another trip to Goodwill today and bought The Testament by John Grisham and I bought another copy of Angels and Demons by Dan Brown because the other copy I bought isn't in very good condition, and I'm very anal when it comes to books, LOL! But this book was in better shape so I bought it.

Nice book choices Gavin!
I have done that myself Corey, but I am not all that particular, as long as it is not missing covers or pages and I can read it, I am fine. I really love buying used books.

Yeah Janie, the earlier copy I'd bought was beaten up pretty badly, the cover just looked like it was all torn apart, and I hate that, but as long as all the pages are in it and the covers intact I get it, another thing I always check is, I don't know if you do this but I see if it smells funny like someone had been smoking around it, I hate that, and plus I don't smoke.
Yea smelling the smoke in a book is horrible. I did used to smoke but quit 8 years ago this coming May. Truthfully if I want the book bad enough it takes a lot for me not to buy it. Our local UBS is pretty good though with which books they put out.
I'm glad you quit smoking Janie. Such a nasty habit. On Monday I went to B&N And got ten books. In hardcover I got Reboot by Amy Tintera which came out last summer. It is a duology and the last book is coming later this year. More Than This by Patrick Ness(I was going to get his chaos Walking trilogy but they didn't have it:/) And new releases Silver by Chris Wooding, which I already read and enjoyed, Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith, Halfbad by Sally Green. In paperback I got the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver-Delirium,Pandemonium, Requiem, Delirium Stories which contain 3 novellas. And because Janie and Kathryn have just been raving about Ellen Hopkins for awhile I had to pick up Impulse:)
It was a pretty successful day. I will be ordering Chopsticks by Jessica Anthony and the Chaos Walking trilogy once I get further into my purchases. Knowing my self control I'll probably order them next week though.

Today I got a Jane Austen collection with Pride and Prejudice
and Sense and Sensibility
Also wanted to get
, but couldn't find in English anywhere. I suppose I'll give up and read it in Spanish...
My sister called me from Good will yesterday and yet again she was looking for books for me. She now has over 50 books to bring to me this summer. I gotta say guys I am pretty excited!
I bought some more books today at the Salvation Army family store, I'd never been there in my life, they had a great selection of books, if I knew they had books I would have gone earlier, the store was very well organized and set up, anyway I bought Still Waters by Tami Hoag, Deception Point by Dan Brown, and The Litigators by John Grisham. I saw a lot of other books I could have bought but I try not to buy too many books at once.
I found a little pocket edition of "The Hobbit" in Walmart. Vinyl bound with gold trim.....I was so happy. My husband found me and made me aware of the things that we MUST have, and I had to put it back :^(
I bought today The Dovekeepers, Neverwhere, and Hammer Of The Gods: The Led Zeppelin Saga
I bought File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents by Lemony Snicket on Tuesday. This book was a bit different, but I loved it. It was fun :)
So yesterday I got
Black Beauty
The Possibility of You
Jasmine Nights
To Kill a Mockingbird
Dark Horse
Tell Me
So pretty happy with what I found. One of my all time favorite classics as a kid was Black beauty and I got the storybook cover of it. I also could not remember if I had read To Kill a Mockingbird, it has been far too long since school. So I thought I would read it now.

Made another trip to Goodwill, today I bought The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, The Summons by John Grisham, Empty Promises by Ann Rule and The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly.

Goodwill is a store that sells clothes and they carry used books, so I hang out there a lot, I don't know if there's one where you live but it's a really nice store.
Thea if you ever get the chance, look for some in your area. It really is a treat to go in and search through the books there. Ours is a little low right now, but I am hoping they will refill the shelves soon.
Janie wrote: "Corey another nice haul for you. You gotta love finding books like that for low prices!"You said it Janie, I love buying used books.
Oh my goodness Corey, me too! I am so addicted to our UBS it is not funny LOL Or even the good will or thrift stores in the area. They have so much character to me, not to say new books aren't great, but I am a bargain shopper and most of those are used books and I love them.
Okay, so I really have to stay out of Goodwill. I was there to donate my daughter's bike. So here is what I picked up for $1 a piece:Jurassic Park By Michael Crichton
The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers By J R R Tolkien
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King By J R R Tolkien
Step on a Crack By James Patterson
Kindred in Death By J D Robb
Have you read any of these titles?
I have not read any of those, although I really like James Patterson quite a lot. Going into good will can be dangerous for book lovers
