What books have you bought lately?

Chris did you mean that you pre-ordered the Deaver book, or another one? I was a little confused on that. Either way it is awesome that you received in on the release date! How awesome to be able to get Deaver to sign a book. I have never been to a book signing, and one of these days I would love for the opportunity.

March Purchases so far:Night of the Huntress

Grimalkin the Witch Assassin
Stories by O. Henry
Janie wrote: "Wow Lucy that was quite the haul there! And a few I would not mind having myself! I still want to get Gone Girl, I have heard so many good things about that book. Soon I shall have it."I bought gone girl because I have seen the reviews about it on here, and it has been recommended to me. I'm just reading Koyasan now (10 pages left lol), and it made me chuckle to discover it was a World Book Day book in 2006, and yesterday when I bought it, it was World Book Day :)
Janessa wrote: "Great haul Lucy I wish I could buy thirty books at once! For the Norther Lights try looking up The Golden Compass it is the same book. Northern Lights is the British title and The Golden Compass is the America title and the one I think more people are familiar with. Hope that helps:)"It did, actually. I didn't know it had a different title in America! Thanks for the tip, have edited it in now :)
And I was only able to buy 30 books (and the two for my son) because it was pay-day and I have no bills due before my next pay-day. They were all second hand too. I don't know what the conversion would be, money wise, but for the 32 books, it cost me just £25.47 - around 80 pence per book. When a lot of them are at least £5 new, I'd say I did pretty well :D
Plus, well, it was World Book Day - I had to buy some books! I keep trying to convince my friends that they are all for decoration, but they don't believe me, somehow, haha.
Oh and I also bought these today:The Memory Keeper's Daughter
The Kite Runner
The Little Prisoner
and
Silent Sisters
:)

His next Lincoln Rhyme book is out in May. Trouble in Mind I just got.
I love to go to book signings and my wife and I go any time we can and there is an author we like. We saw Maggie Stiefvatter last year right at the end of summer. We got our picture with her. Deaver usually comes in every other year so he is due back in St Louis this year.
King has two books coming out? I know of Mr. Mercedes, and I know of Deaver's two books. I'm lost. Lol

Yea I heard King had a couple, but I have not really checked into it. I am sposed to start the Lincoln Rhyme series this month with Kathryn and maybe a couple of other people, but not totally sure on who all is reading along. I think that is awesome that you get to go to the book signings Chris! It has to be nice knowing that Deaver has a set schedule of coming. Hehe, I would never miss it!

I have gotten so behind this year, but I love those books and could easily keep up with the discussion. I can't wait to see what you guys think of these books.

I have a book buying obsession lately. By the time I finish one book, I have bought 5 more to read! My recent purchases: Unwind book one
Red Hill
The Book Theif
Shell wrote: "Picked up The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Ultimatum at an op shop for really cheap. I want to read them before I watch the movies."Awesome books Shell, Robert Ludlum is Fantastic. I loved this series and one of Ludlum's oldies, The Parsifal Mosaic is one of my favorite books ever. I hope you like them!
Susan wrote: "Wowza Jainie! You scored. Have you read the prey series?"
Susan I have not yet read any of them. I don't have the first few books yet, and I know there are a lot to the series. But they sound great. It is another of those series where only the detectives lives carry over, not the cases, so they can be read separately I am sure.

Nice haul Kathryn. The price isn't too bad either!
I just bought The Blue Nowhere by Jeffrey Deaver, I heard that the killer in it is a computer hacker, so this book should be right up my alley.
Susan, right you are! I still have some room on the most recent book shelf hub bought me. So I am good for a bit longer I think. LOL Or at least I hope!
Kathryn great haul girl! So glad you are getting the to die series! So then we can read it together! YAY! I know you will be happy to get them all back on shelves once you get moved!
Corey, I really like Deaver myself and The Blue Nowhere sounds pretty darn good. I will have to check into getting that one and maybe some other of his stand alones.

It was really intersting. I'm sure you are a smart guy but if there are any computer terms you don't know, Deaver put a golossary in the back of the book.

Lol; you've gotten some good book buying in lately! You've been busy....hehe. :)
Yeah I have. The joys of no bills due this pay-day, and having had a friend do a food shop for me, just because they could :)And now I just need to find time to read them. I got another 3 chapters of Black House read today, which is one I have been struggling with, the narrative is just so strange. But I am over half-way there, and will not give up :)

That's cool. :)
Good luck with finishing it. :)
Lucy isn't it nice to know that you aren't the only one that keeps buying books! LOL I am so bad with this. But it is a case of problem buying that I can deal with! Heh!
The only problem with buying books is having enough space on your shelves for them. All of my shelves are full:/
Victor wrote: "The only problem with buying books is having enough space on your shelves for them. All of my shelves are full:/"Yeah, I have the same problem.
I have a total of 8 book shelves in my library, 7 are full and the last shelf that hub just bought me is half full. I have one more spot for a book shelf and then I will have to start double stacking books. I am not gonna move book shelves into the rest of the house, at least I don't think I will.

And some books that I didn't really care for I'd just get rid of.
Crates are another good idea to use for lack of space. Just lay them on their sides and they work great for shelving. I may have to try that myself to fill in spaces.
I just bought Bait over the weekend. It's like The Hunger Games, but with heroin addicts and sharks. All things are infinitely better with sharks.
Went to the bookstore last night and bought Wake, A Burnable Book, a sketchbook, and stuffed Peter Rabbit toy. He is so cute:)
Jen, Angelfall is a must read! And then World After! One of my favorite series so far this year. Book 3 is coming soon just is not titled yet.
I visited Goodwill today and got Odd Thomas and The Phantom of the Opera in paperback for $0.59 apiece, and book 12 of the Wheel of Time series in hardcover for $1.99
