Thanks Janie, I was so glad to see some thing at Barnes and Nobel on sale that I was actually interested in adding to my library. Most of the time they are books I would not read. So.. Yay. The Poe book is large and just a lovely addition.
Susan wrote: "Went to B & N after dinner and they were having a $2 sale on hardbacks."Great additions! Everytime I see a sale at B&N, it's for books I already have (or some I've decided I don't wan/need.)
Susan my Poe book is this one:
. I got it from Recycled Books for $6 I thought it was a great price and was happy to find it.

I've bought three new cookbooks and one of them is called Jerusalem which has all types of middle eastern food. I can't wait to experiment with new recipes. Susan, nice haul!!
I can't wait to get started on it, it has really mixed reviews. I'd like to know what you both think of it when you read it :)
I love Poe. I've have a super old anthology of his short stories. I've been meaning to download the audiobook for them from Audible: Edgar Allan Poe - The Complete Short Stories
Kathryn wrote: "Received confirmation Night Film shipped today! Yay!"In my top 8 from last year. A little crazy... So good.
Chuck I love Poe too, I always have! My favorites are The Tell Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Raven. He has such great talent. Now I wanna go read The Tell Tale Heart.

I have just been to the library for my niece but returned withMonsters of Men and A Dying Fall
for myself
A special edition of The Shining from Subterranean Press (was waiting for me when I got home after being snowbound in my hotel for two days!):
This one turned out darker than I wanted :-(:

The "special" editions have to be preordered up to a year in advance of publication (sometimes longer) and a lot of them sell out prepublication. I find them by scouring small specialty press sites such as:Cemetery Dance Publications
Subterranean Press
Thunderstorm Books
Dark Regions Press
Earthling Publications
PS Publishing
The best way to get word of them is to sign up for their newsletters.
Warning: the editions can get expensive (The Shining was $95). Cemetery Dance currently has a Signed/Limited edition of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn available for pre-order for $75. Expensive, but it will be a beauty! This offer has been up for 5 or 6 days, so it may not last too much longer.
Thanks, Janie. And VERY additons from UBS.I'm a slow reader, so I don't mind spending gobs of cash (that I don't always have) on nice shelf copies of books I've already read and reread. But I buy these special editions to be read as well. So the next time I read The Shining, that's the copy that I'll read!
I just love that fairytale look to the book. We don't get to see that as much anymore. You are very fortunate to find them Squire and I am a little jelly. ;)

Beautiful addition, Squire. One of my favorite books ever.
I bought This Star Won't Go Out last night. It's a memoir of Esther Grace Earl who John Green dedicated The Fault in Our Stars too.

Heather wrote: "Oh my I didnt know Where the Heart is was a book too I loved the movie!!"Is this about the Walmart baby? It's been on my To-Read list for ages!

On the recommendation (more like insistence) of my 13-year-old niece:
She also told me not to waste my time with The Hunger Games. So I won't.
