Squire (srboone) | 141 comments It really is. That photo doesn't do it justice. It's sold out at the publisher.

Pet Sematary is still up for preorder on PS Publishing's site.

Pet Sematary preorder.

Carrie, Skeleton Crew, and Tnhinner are planned for next year.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I just bought Carte Blanche for my Kindle. It is part of their monthly deals books under 3.99. This was only 1.99$. I already have the hard cover but want to get all of Jeffery Deaver's books for Kindle so I have them everywhere I go. Figured I would share this great sale while there was still time.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments Great lot of books! Specially love Eyes of the Dragon :D

That's awesome Chris, glad you got a good deal on it!

message 1358: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well this book had two things I love. Jeffery Deaver and James Bond. Now if only I could get Stephen King and Jeffery Deaver to do a book together I'd be all set.

Heh LOL Chris, makes me wonder about that. Like what type of title they would have? how would the book turn out? more horror or mystery? It would be interesting to say the least.

message 1360: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Very good point Janie, but after reading Joyland I think they could do a good mystery. With king's characters and Deaver's twists it could be an amazing book. But that is just my thoughts. We will never see that book but it is fun to dream.

message 1361: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Yea I agree with that Chris I am sure they could probably spin a pretty good tale together. IDK, I would read it, but I can see a lot of slamming going on at the same time.

Ok so I had to post my book haul because I had a real good one today. I took books in as well that I have no use for and did fairly well. With credit all together I ended up spending $13 on 14 books. So that was great! So here we go. I have been collecting the Alex Cross books by Patterson for awhile. And at this point I need 7 more. LOL The list never ends.

Patterson
Pop Goes the Weasel
The Big Bad Wolf
I, Alex Cross
Cross newly published as Alex Cross
When the Wind Blows
Lifeguard
2nd Chance Gah I duplicated a book again!
4th of July
I also finally got book 2 in Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series, The Coffin Dancer, so now I have 1 and 2 of that. And I will have to see what other ones I have in that series.

I had to get another Coben book so I got Just One Look, looking forward to reading that one. I also got Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. It looks brand new and I got it for $5. So I thought that was decent. I also got The Other Daughter, The Traveler, and Patient Zero. So as you can see it was a pretty good haul today. Oh and btw most of those were on the sales rack. LOL All but 4 of them.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments I liked Miss Peregrine's..... The pics were neat :)

message 1364: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Hey Janie, in the Lincoln Rhyme series, I have The Bone Collector, The Coffin Dancer, The Broken Window, and The Vanished Man. I know the first two are the first two in the series.
I still haven't found book two, etc. in the Kathryn Dance series. I smell a buddy read, though!!!! :)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
hehe I would love to do some Deaver reads with you. I know I have 1, 2, & 3 of the Lincoln Rhyme series for sure I will have to go look at what others I have of that series, and then I have 1, 2 & 3 of the Kathryn Dance series. Which I read XO for the A-Z challenge. But I think it was ok to do. LOL If not I will just have to re read it. I am pretty sure there are only 3 to Kathryn Dance.

Anyway, any time you wanna do a buddy read on the Bone Collector, of the Lincoln Rhyme series, or The sleeping Doll of the Kathryn Dance series, let me know.

message 1366: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Kit I have heard pretty good things about it, so I thought I would get it and check it out. I am pretty sure I will like it. We will see!

message 1367: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Janie all of the Kathryn Dance books are stand alone books just like the Lincoln Rhyme series. Those are a little easier to read out of order than the Rhyme series because Rhyme has relationship pieces that line up book to book.

I wanted to try to do a re-read of all of Deavers books next year if I can swing it. I will keep an eye out for your buddy read with Kathryn and I will join in. I've read them all anyway so if I am not reading it I can add to the discussion.

You and I had talked about doing a buddy read on something else not long ago. Do you remember what, I forgot completely?

message 1368: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Cheney | 57 comments the rune series was the best!

message 1369: by Victor (new)

Victor I have Miss Peregrine's too Janie. Maybe we can buddy read:) I promise it won't be like the Stand buddy read LOL

message 1370: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Chris, yes I think it was for Black Sunday wasn't it? I am dying to read that one so maybe soon? It's good to know that they can be read out of order, I am so glad since I read XO already. I will be sure to keep the Lincoln Rhyme ones in order. If anyone would know I think it would be you :) Yea just keep an eye out for our buddy read and feel free to join.

Victor that will be fun, I will let you know when I am ready for it. Maybe some time in November after The Twelve buddy read.

message 1371: by Victor (new)

Victor November works for me:)

message 1372: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
ok I will set up a thread closer to the time of the read and see if anyone else wants to join in it!

message 1373: by Victor (new)

Victor Okay. I'm super excited! I think the sequel comes out next year.

message 1374: by Rachel (new)

Rachel nice haul Janie!

I really liked Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine, #1) by Ransom Riggs - the pics were great-if I remember correctly-the author collected the photos and then wrote the story around them.

message 1375: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Thanks Rachel. I actually look forward to reading it. I heard a lot of good about it, so we will see! Planning on a buddy read come November with Victor, so that should be fun!

message 1376: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sounds like a fun buddy read Janie. I hope you like it. November is just in time because the second book is coming out in January and this one leaves you at a bit of a cliffhanger. You would be able to move right on to book 2 if you like. I have had to wait I think 2 years for the new one to come out. I can't wait.

message 1383: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I bought four books for 8 dollars:

The Stand by Stephen King hardcover for $3.
The Bodies Left Behind paperback by Jeffrey Deaver for $1.
Roadside Crosses hardcover by Jeffrey Deaver for $2.
XO paperback by Jeffrey Deaver for $2.

I got what went for and even found more than I anticipated. :)

message 1384: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Great selection and it sounds like you got some great deals. I want to buy the stand but it is such a daunting read so I have put it off for now. Loved the Deaver books though.

message 1385: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Chris, I thought you might like the Deaver books I picked up. Janie and I are going to read the Kathryn Dance series soon. You're welcome to join in. :)

message 1386: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I will even if I don't read the book. I still remember quite a bit. I also think it would be a lot of fun to talk these books with you guys. My wife hasn't read them yet so I haven't had a chance to discuss them.

I will try to make this part of my Deaver re-read if I can. I want to read all of his books again in 2014 if I can find the time.

message 1387: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
I went in to see what books I have of Deavers so here they are:

A Maiden's Grave: Read
The Sleeping Doll
Roadside Crosses
XO: Read
The Bodies Left Behind
The Empty Chair
The Bone Collector
The Coffin Dancer
The Devil's Teardrop
The Vanished Man

So a pretty good start, now I just have to start reading them.

message 1388: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 345 comments I'd be in for a buddy read of the Miss Peregrine sequel! :)

Chris I think it would be awesome to discuss with you even if you don't reread. We always seem to have great discussions and I am sure this would be no different. Kathryn any idea when you wanna start on these? I only have 2 reads actually planned for November if you would like to start then?

Kit I will let you know when I get to the sequel. I am reading this first one with Victor in November. So we will see.

message 1390: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Janie, November is perfect!

1. What date do you want to start?
2. Do we want to read them back to back? (If you want to, that works for me!)
3. Are you going to re-read XO?

I AM SO EXCITED!!! My first taste (well, sort of...I know the movie The Bone Collector like the back of my hand) of Deaver! Woohoo!

Kathryn you make me happy! :) whenever I read your responses! Well let's see. The first of November I start The Twelve, and then sometime in November Victor and I are reading Miss Peregrines School...I guess anytime will really work for me, so just pick a date I guess. And yea we can read them back to back. Not sure if I will reread XO though.

message 1392: by Kathryn (new)

message 1393: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Alrighty then! Are we doing Kathryn Dance or Lincoln Rhyme?

message 1394: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I have the whole series of Kathryn Dance, so is that okay?

message 1395: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Yep that is perfectly fine! :) Looking forward to it!

message 1396: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Me too! Me too! :)

message 1397: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Kathryn Dance first showed up in the book Cold Moon which is a Lincoln Rhyme novel. You don't need to read that one first but it was an amazing book.

You need to read Cold Moon before the Burning Wire in the Rhyme series because those books tie in together. Dance is in that one also. Can't wait for you guys to read these. I'm so excited to see what you guys think.

message 1398: by Janie, Group Owner & Book Addict (new)

Janie Johnson | 6303 comments Mod
Chris thanks for the tips they are helpful. I do plan on reading the whole Rhyme series is order. That way I wont get things mixed up. I actually look forward to collecting the whole series. That will be great to have on my shelves.

message 1399: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Chris, as you probably guessed, I'm getting all of the Rhyme series before I start reading them and I plan to read them in order. Tomorrow I'm going to try to go to a different HPB to find some others in the Rhyme series. I think I only need five more in the Rhyme series.
