Linking video to a book

I was asked by an author if I could link her book trailer to her book page. The trailer is on her profile but doesn't appear with her book. I think this may be because she didn't click the drop down menu that comes up when you add a video and add the title of her book. I can't see anywhere to edit this, and if I try to add a new video, it says I can't as the author had full editing rights to her information, but she's been unable to edit it either. Should I tell her to delete the trailer, then add it again making sure she's clicked the drop down menu to add her book title? I'm not sure what to advise her.

I believe that once a video has been uploaded, any librarian can edit it. Also, links to the items in question help.

Okay, thank you. Well, despite being a librarian it wouldn't let me edit it so I'm not sure what's going on there. I'll get her to contact GR.

Pippa, your profile shows you as a Goodreads author, but not a librarian. Authors have limited editing privileges over their own works, but not the ability to add or change information on other authors' works.

I don't think it shows anywhere on a profile that you're a librarian once you've got an author profile. Mine no longer says that I'm a librarian, but my librarian powers have not gone away. I'm an author and a librarian. I added a video and linked it to my book today. This page seems to show it linked correctly:

The video shows up on my author page - should it also show up on the book page? I don't mind having it on the author page, but the book page is where I'd like it since it's about the book and not about me so much :)

Actually, all videos uploaded to an author page have to show up there. However, if you specify a book, then it'll show up on the book page too (like it does here).

Goodreads has been accepting the newer embed code from YouTube for quite some time. This is an old thread.

Yes. Thanks, Rivka. For some reason it wasn't accepting the new embed code for me, so I had to source the old code. I couldn't tell you why, as I'm no code expert.
