Jason Koivu | 105 comments Just recently finished reading The Pirate King by R.A. Salvatore. It's 2nd part of the the 3-part "king" series within Salvatore's larger Drizzt series. It's a solid book. Lots of good action scenes with a nice balance between sword fights and sorcery. I'm looking forward to the third.

Enjoyed that one. I hadn't read book one, but I never felt lost throughout.

Yeah. He does a good job of making them self-contained...well, as much as you can with a series of such length.

For some reason the 4th was released as a paperback on amazon and at Innsmouth Gold Press as a PDF. The author was nice enough to send me a copy he converted for my kindle. The 5th is back on Amazon as an ebook.

Aton by Irving A. Greenfield

The first 20 pages are filled with violence, cannibalism, and sex. The reviews on GR genuinely didn't like it, while those on Amazon did. Certainly not for everyone.

Yep

Michael (dolphy76) | 74 comments I just started "Lords of Dyscrasia" on Audible. I'm also reading The King of Elfland's Daughter. I generally read two books at once...one on audible and one written. I usually go through the audibles more quickly.

Jason Waltz (worddancer) | 385 comments @Carrie, Nice! I'm a multi-book-at-a-time reader as well, but I must say, splitting time while reading Malazan, especially just kicking things off, is asking for trouble :) And most likely not going to last, as you'll dive directly into the wonderfully deep world and rush to spend the next year or two reading all of it sans distractions!

Haha, I've been tabbing making notes so I can reference back when I'm lost. But I really don't doubt I'll be spending much of my year in this world. What I've read so far is really good.
