There are books published under Katrina, and some published under Kat, but even if they are the same person, I don't see any reason to link the two profiles. I merged the two Kats, though.

According to the NYPL, the Russian book is a translation of Why Mermaids Sing.

Question: when there are empty profiles like this (no works, no fans, no quotes, etc), do we still need to report them here or will they get deleted by an automatic script eventually (I seem to remember that)? I ask to know if we can save both our and Rivka's time.

If they are completely empty as you outlined above, then the automatic script will get it.
We should still post them here - even if they may appear empty - in case there are quotes or book lists or group discussions they may be included in. - anyway - that's what Rivka told me sometime back. I'm assuming it is still so.

If the choice is between merging them into NAB or Unknown or whatever, it's better to post here, in case an empty-seeming author isn't. But if they are really empty (no fans, no quotes, no books), the script will get them the next time it runs.
As far as discussions and links, those do NOT get moved when authors are merged, whether GR Author Program members or no.
