Hey it could happen :-)

message 3452: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Right now I'm watching my six year old try to break a spoon out of ice in a plastic cup.

He's really into freezing things lately.

message 3453: by David (new)

David (bowsertheturtle) freezing things can be fun.. =D

right now i'm in between two rooms watching clips of striptease here and there and compulsively checking stuff on the internet as my wireless cuts in and out.. the crickets stopped chirping in my turtle tank, i wonder if he ate all of them..

message 3454: by RandomAnthony (last edited Oct 18, 2009 03:24PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments What? Striptease? On the internet? Oh, you meant the movie Striptease, David...um...right?

I also want people to know that Heidi's current facebook status reads:

Boys and their lizards can be really funny to watch.

Heh. I don't think she meant that phrase to mean how some people are going to take it.

(And I don't think Heidi's home for a couple hours, so I still have a couple hours to live before she reads this post.)

message 3455: by David (new)

David (bowsertheturtle) yea, the movie is on on the tv in the living room and im in between there and my room where my computer is.

message 3456: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Right now I'm cleaning up the aftermath of pies in the face.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Larry came to Olympia!

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments you lucky ducks!

message 3459: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice picture guys, glad you got the chance.

message 3460: by Knarik (new)

Knarik I am smiling.

message 3461: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) So am I!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Right now I'm answering questions at the youth services desk at the Olympia Timberland Library. I've helped patrons find books about golems and that Orson Welles radio show that made everyone think the Martians were invading, and placed holds on the first two Percy Jackson and the Olympians books.

message 3463: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Right now I'm looking for the silver lining. I know it's around here somewhere ....

message 3464: by RandomAnthony (last edited Oct 23, 2009 02:59PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Sorry, man. Sucks to hear it on a Friday, esp...never a good time, of course...

message 3465: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I will survive. You get stronger at the broken parts. Or something.

message 3466: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I think you're right, Bun. It will involve work.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm sorry, Larry. They don't know what they're missing out on.
*hugs*

message 3468: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) They said I was a very close second. That's worth something. Right?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Definitely worth something, Larry. They might have hired an internal candidate, but would have hired you instead if they could have.

message 3470: by Félix (last edited Oct 23, 2009 03:27PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) There will be others. I have a very good job now. I really can't complain.

message 3471: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Thanks, Bun. I feel them.

message 3472: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) I'm playing with my iRobot Roomba at the moment. I was skeptical at first but this thing picks up a crazy amount of dirt and dog hair.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Now they've moved me up to the adult reference desk, which means helping people get on internet computers.

Not much actual reference anymore at the reference desk. :(

message 3474: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Does it chase the dog around, Dan?

So, Jackie, instead you're what ... doing this.

message 3475: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) No but my dog doesn't like her new sibling very much. Lots of darting at it and running away.

message 3476: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments My dogs, Dan, would chew that fucker up in about thirty seconds. They were chew anything. Socks. My wallet. The wall. No, I'm serious, the wall.

message 3477: by Dan (new)

Dan Schwent (akagunslinger) It feels pretty durable. Mine would probably tell on them if they tried. If the bin fills or the brushes get dirty, a woman's voice says "Please remove and clean Roomba's brushes." I imagine there's a similar message for dog attacks.

message 3478: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments "Please get that freaking dog off of my brushes."

message 3479: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That's hilarious, Dan...yes, I agree, Sher...or maybe the Roomba squirts water at the dogs and says, "Bite me again, motherfuckers. I dare you."

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I am checking to see if there are computers available, and there aren't.
I'm informing patrons that they don't need a password for the wireless anymore.
Stuff like that.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I want a Roomba.

message 3482: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That's right. Jackie hates vacuuming. Somebody tell her husband he's got a no-lose Christmas present idea...:)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I think my cats would hate it, but I don't care. It's all their fault I have to vacuum so much anyways.

message 3484: by RandomAnthony (last edited Oct 23, 2009 04:01PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I don't know, Jacks, maybe the cats would like a rhoomba...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewdbil...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments My old cat probably wouldn't care, but the young one would be totally freaked. It doesn't take much to freak him out.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments He's okay with the familiar, but Larry barely got a glimpse of him. So, yeah, I guess after awhile he'd adjust.

message 3487: by Félix (last edited Oct 23, 2009 05:00PM) (new)

Félix (habitseven) I did see him though. He's a beauty. Those yellow eyes!

message 3488: by Jackie "the Librarian" (last edited Oct 23, 2009 06:32PM) (new)

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Okay, since no one else is posting right now, I'm going to indulge myself and post a picture of the kitty in question, Eddy:

He's blackety-black-black.

Awwww. Speaking of freaking cats out, or freaked out cats, watch this! (I posted it on fb earlier today, but didn't receive the thousand comments I'd wanted.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3sX30...

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Heh. But orange cats are usually male, aren't they?

Oh, never mind me. I know, it's just a joke, why do I have to be so literal minded?

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No, I couldn't play the sound, because my cats were not liking what was coming out of the computer.

message 3492: by Angie (new)

Angie (angabel) What a handsome cat! My first cat was mostly black so they'll always have a soft spot in my heart.

I also love the colors of the blanket he's sitting on.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Thanks, Angie! :)

message 3494: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimie476) | 664 comments I'm at work, putting in some overtime, wishing I was in my comfy cozy bed. Grrr!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I'm listening to Car Talk, getting ready to tackle the dirty pots and pans in the kitchen.

message 3496: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I just tackled mine. I'd be glad to help you with yours.

Of course, mine will just get messed up again later today when I make my signature marinara for dinner.

message 3497: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Those Car Talk guys crack each other up. They don't crack me up, though.

I'm on the couch...back kind of hurts. Might not move for a while. Watching Rear Window off and on when the room is quiet enough to watch and/or the dogs aren't wrestling next to me.

Thanks Sally for posting this!!! An interesting way to begin this weekend.

I'm amazed at whomever made that video. First, did they just stand there while one or both of their pets was nearly in a situation involving teeth, claws, and flying fur? And second, what about that dub job? How much free time does this fella have? How did he know to write the perfect "script" for the scene?

message 3500: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Right now I'm feeling worried, useless and hopeful, although scared. My Mother-in-law was admitted yesterday for a severe stroke. She was without bloodflow to her brain for at least a couple of hours, and although they got the blockage on one side of her neck, she hasn't become fully conscious yet. The doctors have no way of knowing if she ever will.

The thing is, Kathleen is the anchor for my husband, his two brothers and his Dad, and without her I'm worried about all of them. Especially my DIL. They have known each other since they were little, and they've been inseperable for about 50 years now. He's just a wreck and I'm really worried about what he'll do if she doesn't recover.

It's so strange how life is such a rollercoaster, and you have no idea where any of the curves are coming from or where they lead. I'd appreciate any good vibes/prayers/whathaveyou that can be offered up for them.

Thanks guys.
