Maybe The Cannibals of Sunset Drive?
"Mike is convinced that the neighborhood monastery, complete with ancient rock tower and 13 graves, is home to cannibalistic monks, who are cousins to vampires and whose favorite meals are 10-year-old boys. With three months to go until his 11th birthday, he suffers night fears and the dares of friends to climb the narrow wall that encircles the castlelike building..."
There's a pic of the cover at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/CANNIBALS-OF-SU... and the colors seem right.

-A boy is the protagonist. I believe he rides a bike often, and he looks out his window at night and sees a creepy building at the top of a hill
-There is a monastary involved, and I'm pretty sure there are monks involved too.
-I recall something about honey, and something about roses and/or strawberries.
-There was a stone wall that was significant.
Sadly, I don't remember the author's name at all. The book I read was hardcover, and I remember it had a dominating peachy-orange color scheme. It started out kind of like a thriller, but it wasn't actually a scary book. I really liked it, and I can't remember it for the life of me! Nobody else I've talked to (all avid readers) remember it, either. Does anyone here know what it is?
