Would you date an Edward Cullen wannabe?

In the book Becoming Edward, a guy dresses up like Edward Cullen to get a girl. Would you date a guy like that or run a mile?

No, but not because he's emulating Edward. I'd just rather date a real person, not someone pretending to be a character.

If he was genuinely like Edward, sure, I guess.

Well, yeah... maybe if I was into domestic violence or just having every single aspect of my life controlled.

LOL...try two miles.

HEEEEEECK NO. I would run to another galaxy. With the Doctor. Because Time Lords are hotter than sparkly vampires.

I wouldn't date a wannabe in general
Especially an Edward wanna be

I wouldn't date Edward to begin with XD I would date a straight Tyler Oakley

I don't think it's attractive to try and be someone you're not.

Of course! Then I could say he was my 'bling' instead of wearing necklaces and stuff...SO FRWAKING SHINEY!

I saw the title of this discussion, and the first thing i thought was 'Becoming Edward' :D

And probably, to answer your question.

Have you read it. I have a paperback copy- and hope to read it soon :)

If someone isn't comfortable enough being themselves and is more comfortable being someone else, then I question all their motives. Not just their choice in people to emulate.

So, no. I want someone who is true to themselves.

Can't stand wanna be posers. Look the way you want and act the way you want because you really like it but not because you think you will be cool like the one you think is cool.

no thats pathetic

I would in a heat beat. I always compare guys to him, and if I found a guy like him I would cry.

Well, it seems like he's not so much a wannabe as he is trying really hard to get a girl, seems like he just has a lesson to learn (probably around the climax of the book)So it's not THAT big a deal.

But no, I would not be attracted to someone emulating Edward Cullen as I am not attracted to anything about Twilight.

Also since when do straight men read Twilight - and then get influenced by it? Is this scenario really a threat?

Is it a commonly unfulfilled fantasy of young men to fight over a cardboard cut-out of a girl with another dude who happens to be an age-old enemy?

Though I suppose it's no more shallow than the traditional "Rescue the princess in the castle" format of many games and other stories.
