Err, interesting.

@amber:
I also liked the first Jane novel better than the rest. I like the others better … when I have re-read the series I tend to skip most of that series sides book 1. Driving Mr. Dead is my favorite of all of the books.

Hrm I am behind on the dark angel’s series by a lot … only have read the first few books. Should get on that. :x

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Reading Pooka In My Pantry (A Monster Haven Story, #2) by R.L. Naquin . The mystery in this book is shaping up to be more impressive. So far I'm pleased.

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments @ Claire:

If you liked that book you might like the series by this author, if you are looking for light fluffy reads:
Janni Nell
The first book is:
Allegra Fairweather (Allegra Fairweather Mystery #1) by Janni Nell

message 2855: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Yeah I need to review book 2 because it was great. There were two bad guys here...and while the "bad" bad guys were a bit flat to me, the secondary bad guy had a real personality and back story. I'm interested to see what happens next.

message 2857: by Margo (new)

Margo | 663 comments So I finished with Jane True series at 2 a.m. today, and I have to say that it was a great read! Eye of the Tempest was good; at the end of Tempest's Fury, I was screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" and "Fuck! Shit! It can't be true!", so I had to just pick up Tempest Reborn and finish it, and I really loved it! Great series!

No I'm wondering what to read first on my list: Darkness Unmasked (Dark Angels, #5) by Keri Arthur or Entwined with You (Crossfire, #3) by Sylvia Day

message 2858: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments @Margo that's exactly what I did with Jane True.

I'm not sure what to read next. I'll hunt around.

One for the Wicked (Dark Mission, #5) by Karina Cooper

Since this was the last book in the series maybe she can just pour all of her time into her st. croix chronicles…. I love that one even though it is steampunk (which I usually don't read) and there are only 2 books so far.

Amber (mixiemoon) | 233 comments Going to start Bloodfire Bloodfire (Blood Destiny, #1) by Helen Harper in between getting ready to move back to the states.

message 2870: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I appreciate the thought =]

I did end up starting Wicked as They Come (Blud, #1) by Delilah S. Dawson and I don't think it's lived up to its cover or back blurb. It literally took half the book to really get the action going. The world is interesting enough that I'll finish the book....but it's really disappointing.

Fire Study (Study, #3) by Maria V. Snyder

Just because I can I think I might read the next 2 books set in that world and start that healer series she began, someone said it was awesome. :P

@ Claire:
See pepsie vs. coke … I like that series, which mean book 1 and the couple of short stories between it and book 2! I didn’t like the first book very much until I read the short stories, then I re-read it all when book 2 came out. It is not as intricate as other books, but I still like it.

message 2872: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments @Llaph I don't even know if I'm going to finish this book. It might be around 3 stars for me. I might just skip to Death Rejoices. I'll pick it back up later but now I'm just not in the mood.

message 2873: by Diane (new)

Diane (FriskyVamp) | 372 comments Claire I can tell that you are having trouble staying interested in this book. I just wanted to let you know that I have read it and I really liked it. So your right you should pick it up later and finish it. You'll have changed your mind by the end of it.

message 2874: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Diane I hope I will. I was really looking forward to reading this book, and so I was sad when it didn't work out. I've made to the point where they arrived at the island in the sub.

The first book after the study series ticked me off 50% of the way through so I skipped them. Bleh!

@ Claire:
If you want to read a fantasy book I found this one as a freebie on amazon to test out my new kindle app. I didn’t finish it, I keep meaning to go back and finish it (but I am a dork). There are at least 5 in the series so far. For some reason it sort of reminds me of cast in chaos series … though it has the steam punk tag to it I haven’t seen evidence yet. Just a suggestion!

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Just read Death Rejoices (The Marnie Baranuik Files) by A.J. Aalto . I might be obsessed. I love Mark Batten almost as I love Pritkin. I love Harry as much as I love Bones. And Marnie is...well she's awesome.

It's almost like what Anita Blake could have been if LKH was a better writer. Seriously. Aalto keeps the gore and the mystery and drama, but it's also sexy and fun at other points. I may go back and read these both again, just because I'm not ready to give up the world yet.

@ claire:
There I christened my TBR shelf on purpose this time. (Not talking about how I added books by accident to that shelf ... or the accidents I had while looking books up and accidently hitting the like button and it going on to my FB account that I never use.) It actually did look like a good read, haven't set -up amazon for me yet though. )Long stupid story ... can't beat .99 either. Haven't checked Ibook though....

It would be great to have more books from this series.

I started the Black Magician Trilogy series with The Magician's Apprentice (The Black Magician Trilogy, #0.5) by Trudi Canavan , The Magicians' Guild (The Black Magician Trilogy, #1) by Trudi Canavan and loved Tiger Magic (Shifters Unbound, #5) by Jennifer Ashley . Right now I'm on Dead Man's Deal (The Asylum Tales, #2) by Jocelynn Drake and Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11) by J.R. Ward .

Still want a Harry.

Long book, I wasn’t expecting the length … I wouldn’t stop reading it so I put off work I should have been doing to finish it. :P
Just 3 things that made me like the book:
1. Her name is similar to my maiden name.
2. She loves frogs
3. My hometown was mentioned and people rarely know wtf it is.
Now to finish my work that I put off before I read the next one.

message 2900: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Are you caught up on your series? I usually like to finish up things that are incomplete if I have nothing I want to read.

Or jump genres. go into something completely different.
