What are you reading?
So I finished Lady of Light and Shadows and King of Sword and Sky. Moving right on to Queen of Song and SoulsI do like the series but it is also a little irritating the story is moving very slow and just when things pick up the book ends and it starts all over again in the next book.
Finally got my butt in gear and caught up on my series!Finished
- WOW!
- not a bad read. But I wasn't blown away.
- I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to - might actually see about getting by Jennifer Turner
- ARGH! Another series they're just dragging along! It had such promise!! The characters were finally getting somewhere, issues getting resolved... and then they slapped in another obstacle. Huff!
- no complaints on the writing, but Tyler just pisses me off!

- Hmmm. And Just Started on
Finished
. I'll write a review here tonight. I have such a book hangover; I can't believe it's over. What did you think of the very end Zeenat? I found it slightly disappointing for the end of the series, you know?
I was planning on reading that book next, now I feel the need to read the one I am reading faster.... I will not look @ spoilers

The Shambling Guide to New York City by Mur LaffertyWeird, it was interesting, but there was not a lot of story imo.
Time for Tempest Reborn !
be back in a couple of hours....
Today I finished reading
and as a stand alone book it was great, but if I have to rate it as a continuation of a series it sucks. Well, okay maybe sucks isn't a good word but for those who read this series, how could any sane woman forgive Tony for what he have done? Seriously, I want to know. How the hell, after everything that Claire has been through, can she just accept him? I don't get it. If I didn't read Consequences and only have read Truth, I would love Tony, but as it is, I just can't.
Tempest Reborn (Jane True, #6) by Nicole PeelerThese books are another giggle factory for me, in that I find myself rewinding to hear a line again….
I'd never seen anything like it. It was squat, about three feet tall and as wide across. It appeared to be made of... mud? Brown and lumpy, it sort of resembled a toad. Or the nasty brother that gets turned into an actual pile of shit in Weird Science.
I haven’t seen that movie … in like forever. I remember our copy being on a VHS….
"I don't think so," I said, responding to the dragon threats even as I took a fighting stance.
And that's when it really hit me that I was about to fight a mother**king dragon.
That just made me lol, my gamer background still gets excited about killing dragons so I lol’d because … I have said that before. No one will know this, but I said it during my first ToV raid in everquest. (Whole temple of dragons) They were technically wurms, but I was such a noob….
So many quote worthy lines. :)
I'm going to squeal about Jane True in the General Books thread.Everything that's read Tempest Reborn I expect you to join me!!!
I attempted and failed to read
I just cant seem to get into it.now im reading
how wicked is the cover? anyways so far its not to bad, not great but im not dying of boredom

Standalone UF books aren't all that common, I don't think. Hell, standalone fantasy isn't all that common either LOL!One of my favourite standalone fantasy books is
It is quite a thick book though and I don't know if it would be your kind of thing. I absolutely loved it, but it's a bit too wordy for some folks' tastes. Can anyone else suggest a standalone UF book? Or fantasy?

Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. SnyderAnd
Assassin Study (Study, #1.5) by Maria V. Snyder
I <3 bundles most of the time. I skimmed over ratings for the next books in the series … I peeked at some reviews too. I don’t know if I should finish the series now!
I've had Poison Study forever on my Kindle but never got round to starting it. I really want to, though.
I rather liked it and it was a fast read ... the end was kind of whaaaa? to me though. The other books did not get the same sort of rave reviews that the first one did.
Lannister wrote: "I've had Poison Study forever on my Kindle but never got round to starting it. I really want to, though."START IT!!! :P
I just started
. So far I'm unimpressed. I really wish the author would devote a little more time to background and world building. All her descriptions are so vague I'm really not sure what's going on.
@ Mon:I personally love the series, it is not for everyone though. Some people do not like the heroine or the language that downsiders speak for instance.
@claire:
I started that book and gave up on it, I kept feeling like I was missing something. I hit rewind a lot when I tried to read it, and not for funny lines like in other books, I did "wtf?" a lot a bit before I said f'it.

Thanks for the recommendation lannister."
If you like that book I strongly recommend reading Anne Bishops Black Jewels trilogy.

It was :) - I loved it!! now I'm sad cos It's over.
Finished Written in Red. Wow not what I was expecting at all. Anne Bishop just isn't one of those authors that producing a book every year so this series is going to suck waiting for the next. If she plans on more. I loved her black jewels series.
Man, does Chess have issues! Im liking it so far Llaph :)I just add Written in Redto my TBR, you guys are making it sound so good!
Mon, I really like the Downside series, but not everyone can get on board with Chess's addiction. If that doesn't bother you too much, it's a great series (though I can't deny wanting to strangle Chess once or twice!)
