♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) read Skinned (Cold Awakening, #1) by Robin Wasserman sadly wasn't anywhere near as good as I was expecting after the first part.
also read If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman in like 3 hours this morning was pretty good.

message 2502: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments I finished Roadkilland will be starting Blackout soon. I can see why this book is liked so much. I had fun reading Roadkill and I do love the character development. I think it is my fav book in the series so far.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I'll move the Sookie Stackhouse book to the General book talk thread... LOL I have a lot to say.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Finished Queen of the Darkness (The Black Jewels, #3) by Anne Bishop and loved it. I was crying at the end. Daemon <3 I'll probably read the rest of the series at some point, but not now. Not since I'm pretty sure of something that's going to happen later.

Starting The Pillars of the World (Tir Alainn, #1) by Anne Bishop

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) im reading H.I.V.E. Higher Institute of Villainous Education (H.I.V.E., #1) by Mark Walden its hilariously cliche. its about a top secret school to teach talented teens to be as evil as they can be.

message 2507: by Diane (new)

Diane (FriskyVamp) | 372 comments Wow just read 13 reviews for Dead Ever After {Sookies) last book, everyone of them gave it 1 star saying it was the worst ending of a book they had ever read. I'm glad I saved 15 dollars and didn't buy it. To much to pay for a Kindle anyway.

message 2508: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Apocalyptic Moon by Eva Gordon

I normally don’t read zombie books, but I really liked this one. One of my weaknesses with subjects is books with an apocalypse theme. Plus this one has werewolves and witches mixed in.

$15 for an e-book?? Just adds fuel to my theory that the leaking of the ending was contrived to garner publicity and book sales. :p

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 1164 comments $15!
I'll pass...or waiting until my public library gets it.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I finished Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse, #10) by Charlaine Harris Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris and The Sookie Stackhouse Companion by Charlaine Harris

Hopefully will finish reading Deadlocked (Sookie Stackhouse, #12) by Charlaine Harris and the new and last one Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse, #13) by Charlaine Harris

That would be what 13 books, and a bunch of short stories in 5 days ;)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Well done, Zeenat!

I often need to take a break between books in a series, unless I'm really fond of the series. I find that when you read them back to back any little annoyances get magnified out of all proportion. If it's just a little thing in one book, you can shrug it off, but when you read a bunch of them together you'd like to reach into the pages and strangle someone!!

So, Zeenat, I salute you for reading 13 books from the same series back to back!

message 2512: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I like reading books all together cause it feels like one big epic book, I like doing with tv shows too. I don't like reading one book at a time actually. I don't start a new series by an author I haven't read unless the series has at least 3 books.

message 2513: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments I am pretty much the same way zeenat. except for a few series where I started with them @ book 1 and kept up with them because I loved them.

message 2514: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I can understand the One Big Book thing, but most books tend to be very episodic and have a natural conclusion, and I find it easy to put them down after that and go on to something else. I do enjoy reading certain series back-to-back, but I have to really like them.

message 2515: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments It's just a matter of preference :) I hate waiting for books.

Did I just say that out loud? Oh, shit....

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Just finished The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa an I loved it, but Julie Kagawa is a mean, mean woman to end the book like that and make me wait a year to find out what happens next. Meeeeeeeaaaaaaannnnnnnnnn!

You're brave. I've been circling around this book for a long time now, but I don't have the guts to read it :/. So when you finish it, please let me know if it's as horrible as I think it is, okay?

Anyway, just finished I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1) by Barry Lyga and really liked it.

D.C. (dcmallory) | 152 comments @ Gin and Zeenat - I've read both books in the White Trash Zombie series. I liked them - in fact I kind of waiting impatiently for the next one that comes out on July 2nd. They were not what I was expecting, so that's probably good.

message 2532: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments 'Kay so I just started Passion Unleashed (Demonica, #3) by Larissa Ione . I think I was expecting to be super impressed because everyone raves about Wraith.

I do really like him, but I'm not bowled over. However, I'm remembering how much I loved Zsadist's book in BDB and thinking maybe Wraith will sneak up on me too.

I'm kind of filled with anxiety over how Serena will react when she finds out who Wraith really is. It can't possibly be pretty, but I know it will obviously get resolved.

I've finished it and the sequel. They are quite good, Margo. If there were no POVs from Caleb, though, I doubt I culd have forgiven him. I'm glad you liked I Hunt Killers. I read it last year and loved it. Need to make some time for the sequel.

Finished
Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts and Seduced in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #2) by C.J. Roberts talk about disturbing and heart-wrenching. My heart felt like it was pounding right out of my chest more than a few times. And of course, there was the blubbering.

Starting Shifting Dreams (Cambio Springs, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter

message 2534: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments @ Claire:
Wraith is a jerkface at the beginning of the series and his book. He becomes less so more towards the end of his book though....

At least that is my thought on things.

message 2535: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I can't say I necessarily dislike him...His self-destructive behavior was never meant to harm his brothers. Once he found out it did, he stopped. Wraith does care about his family and tries to do right by them. I can't blame him for being a like messed up, given what he went through.

Well in that case maybe someday I'll read
Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1) by C.J. Roberts but I'm not quite ready for it now :/.

Today I've finished Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga and I really liked it. There were only two drawbacks for me about it. 1st, and most important one, I have no idea when the next books comes out and the ending of this one is a cliffhanger so I really need a next book, like, right now. And 2nd is Connie. What she does in Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga is stupid, reckless and childish and so B horrorish that it's just silly.

Now reading another Connie Suttle's book Blood Double by Connie Suttle

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) read Wolf Blood by N.M. Browne which I thought was pretty good. also read As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott have to say im not really a fan, and the end was just depressing - and not in a good way, more of a confused what the fuck just happened kind of way....
now re-reading Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi as I have just gotten my hands on the next book (Unravel Me) and cant recall everything that happened, plus its an awesome book so I don't mind re-reading it.

I was just about to buy the book soon and my library just put it up today. (I had wishlisted it months and months ago so I had gave up on that.)
Really now, I have read all of the books/stories for the series a bunch of times minus this one…. So nice to know wtf with the small references in the other books, things make more sense to my OCD self now!

That's fine, Margo. The Dark Duet is not a series to be read at random, not really. It's fucked up and if you aren't in the right headspace, you will totally hate it.

I'm glad you liked Game, though. Sucks about that cliffhanger, but I'm going to read it soon, too.

Finished Shifting Dreams (Cambio Springs, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter and really, really liked it. Reading Jabril (Vampires in America, #2) by D.B. Reynolds now.

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I'm reading The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens . I've only read about 65 pages so far, but I'm really liking it. It's kinda creepy and atmospheric and it's sucking me in. I hope it keeps this up and doesn't fade into crappy plotlines.

Anyone else read this?

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments I read it last month, Lannister. I liked it a lot.
