Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Finished:
Mark of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #1) by Diana Rowland

Not sure what to read next! The 2nd book in this series or 5 in the Dresden files ...

message 802: by [deleted user] (new)

I would finish the Kara Gillian's, as a new one comes out December 31, 2012, and you want to be caught up!

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments We have a thread for Diana Rowland discussion Llaph, but it's full of spoilers. If you decide to read more of the series, head over there to talk about it, cos I just know you'll want to talk about it!! :)

And I agree with Duane. I'd read all the Kara Gillian books first cos I'm counting the days till the new one comes out!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 1164 comments Patience Lannister, less than à month now.

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I'm a little desperate! :D

message 806: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I accidentally got sucked into a re-read of Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance . I think this is something like the 6th time.

I'll probably start the 11th DH book next. Almost to Acheron!

message 807: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments I started the second Kara book last night, I could only get up to 3 so I would have to wait on 4 and 5 when it came out. I can live with that ... I think ...
I know that there is a thread about it, I had to do a search for it. After hearing the name all of the time I went and seen if I could get the books, I did read the thread some, but I stopped myself. I should get a reward for that ...

message 808: by Lannister (last edited Dec 02, 2012 10:01AM) (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Llaph, You can always go over to that thread if you want to talk about the books. Just make it clear where you've read up to and say you don't want spoilers (well, unless you do!) Oh, and don't read any more of the existing posts! :)

message 809: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Oh I know, I have already read most of it. Thank you. :)

message 810: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Finished:
Blood of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #2) by Diana Rowland

Starting:
Secrets of the Demon (Kara Gillian, #3) by Diana Rowland

Makes me feel all nostalgic and stuff with the setting.

message 811: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Just started Devil May Cry (Dark-Hunter, #11) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

The books are starting to get a bit repetitive for me. I may stop if Ash's book doesn't wow me.

It definitely gets repetitive. But some books are really good. I personally liked Devil May Cry. I hope you do too.

message 813: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments I liked reading that book ... I love Sin and Kat. :x

I also liked (view spoiler)

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments The DH books can definitely get repetitive. Especially if you read them one after another. Certain ones still stand out for the things that happen in the book outside of the romance. The various revelations and the way things are changing are what keep me hooked into the series.

Finished Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and it was great. This is the type of book you can read to help you get out of a reading slump.

Starting Running Scared (Sentinel Wars, #3) by Shannon K. Butcher

message 816: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I don't remember if I asked you this yet, Mello, but would you recommend the Sentinel Wars books?

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments I would. They're pretty good and the world building is unique. The characters could do with some classes in communication.

message 818: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments Hmm, okay. I may give them a try!

message 820: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I'll need a break from DH anyway

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Very true. I was able to read all of the DH books back to back, but not everyone can do that.

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments @ Sarah"
Totally forgot about him, too many characters in her world.
Maybe in a few years she will come back to him and we will get to know. Only took a while this time for Styxx' book!

I have yet to read the Dark Hunter series, and after this nasty comment on my review of Hounded, I don't think I will start.

"If you liked because he was old, then you should check out Sherilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. Much better written. Deeper plot. More rounded characters. Etc. Also the main character is 11000 years old. You haven't read enough this year if this is one of the best books you have read all year."

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Rofl @ the quote at the end of your review. That is Richard to a T. Still, I totally fell in love with Richard in Bayou Moon, so I was hoping he would get a book.

That's just rude. And The Iron Druid series and DH are different genres and completely different kinds of books. It's possible to enjoy both for what they are. I can't believe they wrote that comment, though.

message 827: by Llaph (last edited Dec 02, 2012 07:30PM) (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments That was one of the stupidest comments I have read in a while. I love the Iron Druid Chronicles, they are totally something different than DH and it is beyond stupid to compare … (BTW loved the review.) It is too bad that stupid people are so prolific and vocal ... It is no news to me that I can’t think of something to say to that stupid comment other than just, “…” (I have been told that that is not a proper response though.) If you like reading books about dogs you should totally read Cujo, it is the best dog lover book ever …

BTW I went to find the review and did a find on "NG" thinking I was smart to search for those letters ... I got owned again for not checking the spelling of a word. Enjee ... Using that made finding the review a whole lot easier!

message 828: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments That was so rude! I didn't like hounded, but that doesn't mean someone else can't for valid or legitimate reasons!

Everyone's favorite is William, but I also had a soft spot for Richard. Well, I had one for Kaldar, but his book bombed . . . ugh.

message 830: by Gin (new)

Gin | 323 comments I've finished up Inner Demons (Peachville High Demons, #2) by Sarra Cannon and will be moving on to Bitter Demons (Peachville High Demons, #3) by Sarra Cannon
Surprisingly, I've found this series to be quite addictive. It is a little cheesy, but dark at the same time. It kind of reminds me of Morganville Vampires for some reason.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments @Zeenat William is my favorite. I was shocked because I didn't care that much about him in book 1. I fell completely head over heels for him in his book, though. Richard is a close second.

message 832: by Claire (new)

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I can't recall if I put Iron Druid on my TBR pile yet or not. It seems like I keep adding books instead of taking them off!

Margo | 663 comments Finished Wallbanger by Alice Clayton and really liked it. The only thing I didn't like was the ending and I hope that there will be second book about Caroline and Simon 'cause I feel like the story has just began :)

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments I wouldn't mind a second book, either, Margo. I'm glad you liked it. =]
