i'm (hopefully) getting my hands on some lorelei james at lunch time::have found a bookstore that sells elloras cave and samhain press (i'm in uk and have only seen them on amazon before now)::but only carries a few copies::was in there last weeek and noticed the yhad LL so back there today::i like cowboys!::after a long time away from them i'm back:)::

LMAO... I think a lot of us would queue up for Dante. ;) And you're right, there is very little sex, but what there is very well written.

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments I'll queue up!

message 154: by Sara (new)

Sara (leelan) | 51 comments You know what really bothers me is when the guy on the cover of a book doesn't match the description of him. It makes it hard for me to picture a face then. That was sort of a random thought.

message 155: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne i agree with you there sara::also when the hero's handsome and the cover guy ugly::think some publishers are getting round that one::with::the headless man!!:: and::
don't worry about the random thought::happens to me all the time:)::

message 156: by Sara (new)

Sara (leelan) | 51 comments Yeah I prefer the headless man on the cover. I liked the cover of the most recent Black Dagger Brotherhood. It gave a little bit of his face but not too much. I hated the cover of Dark Side Of The Moon and couldn't get the picture of that guy out of my head the whole time.

LOL I agree with all of you. I like when the images of people are in the background and you can't see much detail.

The worst is when the description of a person is blonde with blue eyes.. and the picture on the cover is a man with dark hair and dark eyes. Jeeze. Read the book before you get models.

message 158: by Sara (new)

Sara (leelan) | 51 comments I know! It makes NO SENSE! I can't remember which Dark Hunter book it was but the guy on the cover had short hair and looked somewhat like Matt Damon but the description of the guy had long hair! Messed with me the whole time.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Ideally, I want the cover photo to match the character perfectly. I'd also request a nude profile shot and well as frontal and rear. Just to help get the visuals, you know.Hey, I'm just sayin'...

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I don't think the sex in Carpathians is nearly as hot as the sex in Ghostwalkers. It seems more flowery in Carpatthians.

Has anyone read the Nauti series by Lora Leigh? I have those on my shelf waiting to be read.

message 161: by Sara (new)

Sara (leelan) | 51 comments I haven't read either of those books. What book is the Ghostwalkers in?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I think I'll give Loralei a try this summer. Closest thing I've read to cowboys is the Carpathian story set on the ranch...can't remember the name of the characters at all. Grown up sister, she's a dragonseeker, raising younger half siblings. Anyone remember that one?

I read the first book and I wasn't that impressed with it

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Did you like her other books?

nude profile shots::you dirty dirty girl moi:)::lol::

message 166: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Oh, Ghostwalkers is not so much with the flowery? Maybe I'll try that one then. I can't stand the Carpathians at all.

Profile shot would be nice. :)

I haven't read any of her others. I keep meaning to get to her breed series, but other books keep popping up that I want to read more

message 169: by Sara (new)

Sara (leelan) | 51 comments I know. I think I could pull some time in jail as long as I could read whatever books I wanted. Well and could kiss some butt too. LOL!

message 170: by Lenore (new)

Lenore (lenorenrr) | 205 comments I have one of the Breed series on a challenge for next month so hopefully that will help get my butt in gear for reading them.

message 171: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne i found 1 of lora leighs wizard books to-day*Menage a Magick:: has anyone read this?::is it any good?::

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I have not read it, though I saw an excerpt. If I recall, though, it's very sexual. Something about mating and only one person can be the mate...something like that. I THINK.

message 173: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne ummm::i dunno: think b/c i/ve already started to read them ::i/m sticking with *bound hearts*::as much as i want to *read the world* my purse can't provide the goods:)::

message 174: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments I started reading Storm Born and there is a very hot scene not too far in. Whew!

message 175: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne that doesn't surprise me lol::i've only read 1 of richelle meads books::it included a scene in a club::on a stage::omg::

message 176: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Which book is that, Adrienne?

message 177: by Adrienne (last edited Jun 28, 2009 01:57PM) (new)

Adrienne succubus dreams::which is book no 3 in the georgina kincaid series::i wasn't expecting it but......well exhibitionism at it's best::what more can i say other than the guy she was with was shocked too!::

message 178: by The Flooze (new)

The Flooze (the_flooze) | 1831 comments Why am I having such a hard time remembering that...hmn. I've read too much in between. I'll have to go back!

message 179: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne ***********SPOILER FOR SCCUBUS DREAMS*********
she has a date::takes him to a club::gets naked in a cage/on stage::and has sex with him in front of the whole club::

message 180: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (shinhbang) | 12 comments Sherrilyn and J.R. Ward. Definitely.

message 181: by new_user (new)

new_user All my favorite authors do. It would kind of kill it for me if they wrote everything else well and bombed the bedroom scenes, LOL. I like when they're creative, gripping, and unique to the characters.

message 182: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (Savhage Temptrest) (savhagetemptress) | 85 comments I think that Lora Leigh's Breed series has some of the most erotic love scenes I have read to date. The beginning of the series has a plot, but has way more sex. As you go on with the series, the plots get more in depth, and there is still a good amount of sex in them as well.

Charlaine Harris wrote a couple of great sex scenes in "Dead to the World" and "Dead and Gone," Nalini Singh does pretty well with her Psy/Changeling series as well, and Jaquelyn Frank writes some pretty sexy scenes in her Nightwalker and Shadowdweller series as well.

message 183: by [deleted user] (new)

Lora Leigh writes some pretty hot scenes, but she bothers me on some level, especially with the Breeds series, because she has a really, really heavy hand with the fait accompli. The destined mates thing leans hard towards force with an afterthought of "see, I knew you wanted me tied to you forever. Aren't you really much happier now?" I think Leigh is still very much an erotica writer, because this is a great technique for erotica, which doesn't usually spend a lot of time allowing characters a choice not to have sex.

In my opinion, the authors who really dance well with the line between Erotica and Romance, and end up writing some of the hottest scenes are Angela Knight and Emma Holly.

message 184: by new_user (new)

new_user Very true, Jennie. I have AK's Time Hunter series on TBR, but I like her other work.

I ♥ Bookie Nookie (bookienookiereviews.blogspot.com) (ibookienookie) Are the Lora Leigh Breed Series books related at all? should they be read in order?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish They are all related, and in my opinion, yes. They should be read in order because it's an ongoing, progressive story.

This is the reading order list and you can get book synopsis there.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm loving Mary Wine's In Bed With A Stranger
