I know! Some stories have been like that to me. Even if I love one character participating, but I don't like the other... nope, nada.

snap::other than some stuff i read years ago nothing racier than *tiwlight* however i think with reading you tend to start pushing your bounderies until you find something you like/enjoy/rocks your boat:)::
I will say my books are my porn there I said it! hahahaI agree that if the scene is really good it can make all the difference. And SK and Ward write some great stuff.
I really liked her Breeds series. Dawn's Awakening is pretty far down in the reading order, so you might have a bit of confusion, but not much. Leigh usually manages to fill in the gaps pretty well. And truthfully, the books got so much better the further along the story went.
That's great. I am usually pretty good at figuring things out as I go. This one just got the best reviews, and I heard you didn't have to read them in order so... that is the one i purchased.
I started with Megan's Mark, then read a couple others and then decided to start from the beginning. This series is like most others in that there will be a featured couple and the same characters from other stories will be in subsequent books. Make sense?
Totally. I just included it in a challenge so hopefully I will get around to reading it very soon. Leigh had very high praise just about everywhere I went so I decided to give her a try after loving other shifter novels.
Navy SEALs, EliteOPs...I like the stories and the characters alot. They are not like Breeds, they are just human males, but the storyline goes through all the books and as I said, I like them.http://www.loraleigh.com/seals/
http://www.loraleigh.com/eliteops/
I really would recommend reading them in order. EliteOPs is a spin-off (supposedly) of TemptingSEALs, but the characters are the same in all the books, so I would start them and read them in order.
Here is the reading order...
SEALs
Available in bookstores from St. Martins Press
Honk If You Love Real Men (Reno’s Chance)
Dangerous Games
Real Men Do It Better (For Maggie’s Sake)
Hidden Agenda’s
Killer Secrets
Rescue Me anthology (Atlanta Heat)
Elite Ops
Available in bookstores from St. Martins Press
Wildcard
Free Story Night Hawk – St. Martins Website
Maverick (March 09)
Heat Seeker (TBA)
Anthology (Hannah’s Luck) June 23, 2009
The one, Hannah's Luck, didn't come out that I can see, though she did launch a new series, Wounded Heroes in the anthology Real Men Last All Night which came out on the 23rd.

Also, I have the Nauti series, but haven't started those yet. No reason to think they wouldn't be just as good.NOW, if you like this genre but still like a little something "extra" in the men, Christine Feehan's Ghostwalkers is a good series, too.

I have read ALL of her books except for the Drake Sisters.I love the Carpathians, but needed something new and Ghostwalkers was excellent. I might even venture to say I like Ghostwalkers a little better, and I've heard others say that as well. But I did like Carpathians and I will by Dark Slayer when it comes out even though it's in hardcover. *sigh*
Also her Leopard Series is great, too. Well, Burning Wild was great, the first two didn't quite do it for me as well as Burning Wild.
I have thought about reading her books several times, but always pass them over for something else. Maybe this will be that push I need to go ahead and read them since I love several authors recommended if you enjoyed her series.

I liked Feehan's books. My favorite is her ghostwalkers series. I also like the leopard series. Burning Wild was.. hmm.. lol. Let me just say the scene with Emma and the desk was quite interesting

I LOVED Burning Wild... he was soooooo intense. LOL The desk scene I'm still *fanning myself*

LOL!!!! Oh it was...
I was just reading one of Lorelei James' books.. and I had to fan myself. whew. You know a book is good when you literally get hot lol.

What do you recommend by her? I heard someone else mention her. Knowing I love the BDB, Ghostwalkers, Tempting SEALs, etc...what do you recommend?

Lenore wrote: "Let me get this straight...Burning Wild is not a stand alone correct?"The first story is The Awakening, then Wild Rain, then Burning Wild. No, it isn't stand alone, it's part of her leopard series.
If you can find the book called Fever by Feehan, it has both Awakening and Wild Rain in it.

I've only read the first two in her Rough Riders series (I'm on the third one now). It's cowboy invovled. I can't really remember the plot though LOL
The first book is:Long Hard Ride
Lenore wrote: "Let me get this straight...Burning Wild is not a stand alone correct?"No, it is a sequel to Wild Rain

Are the first two as good as the third?
In my opinion, no, they are not. AND, I believe you could probably read number 3 just fine without the others, if you're able to just go with the flow.

Adding those to my TBR list. LOL It's growing faster and faster every day.

That sounds good. I am usually decent at picking up plots from earlier books quickly. If I do not like the first one generally I won't read the second or third. So if I can I like to start with the good ones.

my TBR just keeps getting bigger and bigger lol
Maybe Drake was mentioned in an earlier book, but only as a guide as I recall. If I were you, and I NEVER say this, go straight to Burning Wild. I think Jess agrees.
I liked Burning Wild more than Wild Rain. I still liked Wild Rain but the hero was a little... odd? I guess that's the word. The story was just a little weird. Burning Wild had a better storyline and a better hero
Good to know. I think I will. My dad abandoned me for our "get together" this weekend so he has to take me book shopping tomorrow. **Evil laugh** Not that he minds...

Oh I have. Not that my TBR pile needs to be any bigger but... I can't resist. I have like 6 I want, but I think I have narrowed it down to 3... I think lol
And for extra torture, make sure to embarrass Daddy with all the kinky covers. Narrowing down books? What is this concept? I know it not.
I just ordered 5 more online from B&N. Clearance sale. Some books are going for under $2!
Wow! Well, I'm not sure I am that mean... Actually these covers are fairly clean ;) and he will be off hunting him some books as well. Oh, and never fear. I just narrowed down the ones he has to buy. The others will wind up on my shelf ASAP.
You frightened me with that foreign concept. Narrowing down. ::chuckle:: What new fangled ideas will people think of next. Oh, I recently read You're the One That I Haunt by Terri Garey. I was impressed by the steamy tension between the main character and the uber-sexy Punk/Goth Satan. He is DEELISH.
If I were her, I'd be all for the dark side. Screw being good.
Plus, the dark side has cookies.
Have you read The Makers Song series? 2 books so far, A Rush of Wings and In The Blood. Not a lot of sex, very little actually, but I could "do" Dante.

SHH! We do not speak of that here. lol. No I haven't read them. Are they good? Also I love that saying! Yes the dark side has many cookies.

That is one of the ones I am going to get lol.
The Nicki Styx series is three books in so far. She had a near death experience and now she sees ghosts. The first book gets into voodoo and it is creepy as hell, but in a good way. The main character is also quite sarcastic and even though she finds her new ability ridiculous, she's so practical about it. She's also funky--a little Goth, and she owns an upscale secondhand clothing store. Garey's also good at throwing in plot twists. I'm liking it.
But oh, that Devil. He's been in the last two books and he is utterly delectable. I'm desperately hoping to read more about him as the series continues.
back to christine feehan::i' know i'm late it's diffren ttime zone here::are these racey hot?::i tried to get into carpathians but gave up::without really trying:: but:: if they're *interesting* i'll try them again::thoughts please::UMs right Makers Song::fantastic::
Okay, I have to chime in hear...I've read and loved BDB, SK dark Hunter and Dream Hunter series and loved her book Phantom in the Night.
I also just read Christina Dodd: Darkness books
the first 3 are great and I'm on to getting the final 4th book out so far.
Scent of Darkness, Touch of Darkness & Into the Darkness I believe. They are good reads and the sex/relationship ratio is good.
Happy reading
