Do you mix formats within a series?

I would never buy them in different formats from each other. When I collect a series I want all the books in it and all of them in paper format. Paperback and hardcover I might mix if I am backtracking and buying an older series and just trying to get each book and each book cheap, a new series I try to get all in the same, either PB or HC.
I don't mind mixing paperbacks with hardcover or even buying some installments of a series in a different language (if the translator is taking to long to translate it or I feel like training the language more) but I wouldn't mix audio book with normal books. Never.
I have always been both a collector and reader. I love the sight of filled bookcases but the different modes of reading that have recently been developed haven’t just passed me by. I prefer traditional books but my love for reading wouldn’t eliminate other options. If I could acquire a series in different formats, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them.
I would mix paperback with hardcover. I guess I am old fashioned so far I havent even tried audio books or Kindle etc. I truely enjoy a book in my hand and like Thom I also love the sight of filled bookcases.

When I find a series that I like to listening to on audio, I try to stay with that series, such as the Alex Cross series and Prey series by John Sandford. If I have the book in my library, then I would listen and follow along with the readers. I enjoy make my reading time exciting, but that's just me. :D

There a couple of series that I started with Library copies but was lucky enough to find used copies for some of the books, so some I own and some I don't. A couple of series I was introduced to through a free ebook download but have continued with paperbacks.
I don't mix formats either. I buy whatever format I got from the library if I decide that I want to own the series or I buy the edition of the series that I like the most/is the most beautiful (like covers or decorative end pages, etc..)
If I am collecting a series, I want real books. I will mix paperback and hardcover if I have to due to price or availability, but I would prefer for them to all be the same. To me, my Kindle books don't really "count." They aren't "real." I have an Excel spreadsheet listing all my real books, but no listing of my virtual books. I am not a good listener, and don't own any audio books.
Yes I buy whatever I can get the quickest easier way in actual book form when reading a series I really need more of. So, paperback and hardbacks. I generally like to keep them uniform, but I don't care enough to wait lol
I don't think I could mix such different formats in a series. I think I'd find it more difficult to keep track of what's been happening in the previous books if the format changed around like that and my memory is pretty awful to begin with, haha.I was wondering about this the other day, because I've been reading Markus Heitz's Dwarves series and have three of the books on my ereader, but saw the fourth one for sale in paperback. I decided in the end to keep all the books in the same format and get the fourth one on my ereader. Completist thing, I guess?
It's hard not to mix Hardcover and Paperbacks...I don't mix formats though...even if i am running out of shelving and living space LOL
I mix things up if I need to. I read most books on my Nook these days, but some series I have paperbacks, HC, and ebooks. If I find it in paperback on sale, I might pick it up. I don't really care about the format anymore, not like I used to back in my pre-ereader days. Back then I was really picky about everything matching, but I don't have the room for that anymore!

I'm not really talking about paperback vs hardcover but rather radically different formats as mentioned above, where you would have to use different methods to read the whole series.
