I remember reading call of the wild in school, or at least I remember the
Title, for the life of me I don't remember the story.

I have read a few classics with mixed feelings. The picture of Dorian Gray was pretty good and not too daunting a task, but I also read Les Miserables' this year and felt overwhelmed.
i think buddy reads will help when the devil gets in the details..

The core of the story is touching, sad and quite elegant; the other stuff .... Victor Hugo's details took away from it. There are times where my eyes literally glazed over. Make sure to read it at leisure.

I plan on it. Whenever I decide to read it, I was thinking of reading another book along with it so I can switch off it it becomes too much.

that is a plan; i did the same thing.

Oh, definitely! With a book like that, I think you NEED to something else to rotate it with.. otherwise, one tends to get burned out. I did the same thing when I read Dickens' Bleak House.

ugh, i have Bleak House on my book addicts challenge, and just cannot get into it. i will eventually read it, but will have to read something else. maybe The Running Man or The Long Walk.... :/

i better enjoy it, or it becomes one of the books that gets thrown against a wall. I have thrown 2 this year and one was a toss... :/

That's great, I have always wanted to throw a book I didn't like but I just can bring myself to do it. Thanks for the laugh.

hahhaha... i don't like to toss a book, but will if it makes me...
Note: Les Miserables' was thrown at least 3 times; then i proceeded to finish it. :?

Well I'm glad you were able to finish it, Alondra!:)

me too, Dustin. that was a big challenge for me...

I could maybe go for a re-read of White Fang... When I was just a kid, I used to read that book every year in winter time, then for some reason in high school I didn't do it anymore. So it's been a long long time since I've read it, though I'd like to read it again one of these days. Just don't know how soon.
Hey Kit I will do the reread with you, but wont be till like December. I have reads out the kazoo for Oct. and Nov. I will post something the closer we get.

Yeah, the book'll be a HUGE challenge for me, as well!

fyi- when throwing annoying books -look before you throw- i dented my wall when i threw a hardcover many years ago (i really hated the ending) lol

Holly, I'd love to do Wuthering Heights, I watched the PBS Masterpiece version and loved it, so I'm very interested in reading it now.
Ha, I seem to be throwing the love around a lot here, sorry :)

I'm still wanting to read "Brothers Karamazov."

That would be great!
I'd love to join the Brothers Karamazov buddy read. I just need to have enough notice so I can get it out of the library. :)

I'd love to read that one, too! I just have no idea when I'll ever get to it..

Mid-March works great for me, Holly. I've got the Kindle copy on my Mac, so I can access it any time, even though I will probably get a copy from the library as well.
Amanda any buddy reads you want you do, go ahead post them under the 'Buddy Read' section. You may get a few bites that way. A lot of us love buddy reads here.
