Enlightening discussions and discoveries in the best spirit of the writing world?Erm.
*replaces the 40 Watt bulb with a 60*
How's that for enlightening?
Welcome RE.
If you've spent any time looking round, you'll know we are mostly a bunch of readers, many of whom also write. For the most part though, we are people who care about one another.
We also spent a lot of our time giggling. :)
Hi My name's Ben Hatch and I'm the author of Are We Nearly There Yet? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Are-Nearly-Th...It's about an 8000 mile roadtrip in a Vauxhall Astra round Britain and it involves Billie Piper's pyjamas, a Nazi ghost and something very embarrassing that happened to me with a toothbrush. I'm hoping the book is about to be made into a British movie and it made John Cleese laugh.
Come and say hi. I am now off now to eat four digestive biscuits. (More bragging) And I will manage this in JUST EIGHT BITES!
lol Your book sounds great fun, Ben! I must take a bite out of it soon. I wish you great success.smiling at you

called Tai, today!lol
Hello and welcome Ben.I couldn't resist your book and have just downloaded it. The Astra holds many happy memories for me as it was our very first 'brand new'car and hubbie surprised me with it when he collected me from hospital following the birth of our son in 1986.

Welcome to our happy band, Ben. May I recommend that you open a thread in the Meet the Authors section? It gives us chance to discuss your writing and books with you, although some of our authors seem to talk about everything but in theirs.
This thread gets regularly scrubbed, so it's not really the best place to promote your writing.
Hi everyone,Im a new author here, and im just starting to get the hang of things, my name is Hammed Al-Tamimi im 27 from Kuwait, my new book is called Divine Innocence ... I hope everyone here is well and happy.
Thanks all
Hi to all,I'm plunging in with both feet here having just uploaded my first book for younger readers - Benjamin Blake and the Curse of Silver and Sunlight. The button on the Kindle version has just been pushed so I cling to 'great hopes'. Beyond that, everything is still a learning curve for me; I've gone from zero to having Twitter and Facebook accounts in the space of a couple of weeks (I can't keep up!) and Good Reads was a surprise find, promising a pool of like-minded people for an enjoyable exchange of ideas/experiences. If you're out there, I look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Paul! (I think I've greeted the others?)Pull up a floor and sit down. This is the sort of group from which you get the best if you join in.
Hello Hammed and Paul, welcome to our little group on the prairie. As I advised with Ben, open a thread in Meet the Authors so we can all get to know each other much better.
Hi All,Hi Hammed, I lived in Salmiya for four years......
I was there the year you were born!

If it travels both ways, Mhairi, you definitely have the poor end of the deal, as I'm receiving nothing but calm, peaceful thoughts here.Hey, was that a dragon?

No. But I'm here now! ;)
Hi allI am Robert Carter and I write novels, either set in the past or fantasy, and have had seven published through mainstream publishing. But now I have made the move into indie and have published two more novels this year - Death Valley Scotty and Sheer Purgatory. My big learning curve is social media, but having mastered Twitter (as novelrob) I am widening my vista and looking forward to conversing with like minded individuals ...
Hello and welcome to our lovely group Robert,we enjoy meeting new authors. Looking forward to finding out more about your books.
Hi Ignite - have been a bit quiet on Twitter recently just been re-tweeting and promoting my books, but I have a new idea to share some of the millions of hours of historical research that I have done over the years. As soon as I start going I shall let you know!Rob
Hello again Robert,I'm Sarah.Have you opened an author's thread yet? You can use it to post links to your books so we know where to find them.
Hello and welcome Adam!
Hi Sara and welcome. Have a runtle through the Meet the Authors thread, you'll find lots of interesting work there that will appeal to you, I'm sure.
Hello!I am new to the group: foremost a reader, enjoying lots of genres but particularly psychological/contemporary/suspense/crime/literary.
I am also a writer: my debut novel 'Black is the Colour' (link in Meet The Author) has just been released by my agent as an ebook on Amazon. I'm happy to answer any questions about it and hope that some of you might read and review it too!
Thanks for having me,
Helen Howe
