I Just Can't Wait - Books you're waiting to be released
Kim Harrison posted the first 2 chapters of White Witch Black Curse on her publisher's website. She has also posted, for a limited time, the entire book of Dead Witch Walking.http://browseinside.harpercollins.com...
Sarah, thanks for telling us about Harrison's first 2 chapters. I'm really looking forward to the next book!
I'm looking forward to the upcoming release of Gena Showalter's book The Vampire's Bride. It's due to be published next month, and should feature characters from her Atlantis series. Everybody needs more hot vampires to look forward to, right?

Ok.. Now I get into yet another series even though I try to avoid unfinished seried because it's just too much to wait.I can't wait for 'Fragile Eternity' by Melissa Marr. It's supposed to be the sequel to Wicked Lovely. I can't wait to read more about Seth and Aislinn..

i love how the book list came out.. it looks great...
it was a great idea Shanon :)
it was a great idea Shanon :)
Thanks - I'm actually thinking it wasn't my best idea b/c my To-Read list has grown by LEAPs & BOUNDs since starting that list!! Now I'm waiting for more then just my series' to be released.Oh Well - at least I know I've got enough books to read for the next couple of years - and to think before GoodReads I never new what to read next!
The list is awesome Shanon. I don't know if my bank account needed to know all that, but I'm excited.July 28th's gonna be an expensive day for me...
Great job in putting the list together, Shannon. I know my TBR list has grown by leaps and bounds ever since I started hanging out in GR, but I'm so pleased to meet so many book lovers...
I posted this in another forum, but thought those J.R. Ward fans out there, eagerly awaiting the release of Lover Avenged, would like to know she's updated her website to include the new cover and two excerpts. Woohoo!
It looks like she's still using the same cover. I thought they were having the cover re-shot since that cover image got used on another book?
Perhaps the other book got changed? I am willing to bet since this has been posted that that is what happened.
Whomever got the image first I bet had the right to use it?
Just guessing.

The cover is very similar (it's not updated on Amazon yet, so it's not updated here), but it's a bit different. I compared the two and it's a different guy and different tatts, but an almost identical shot. But they gave him his amethyst eye.
Oh, you're right, DarkHeart, it is a different guy. That's interesting... I assumed when she said they were going to re-shoot the cover that they would do something different, not just shoot the exact same cover with a different model. Like maybe they'd do something that fit better with the other covers in the series???
But I like the new one. New guy's pretty cute. :)
Did you guys read the two excerpts? Just at the glimpses, I think Ehlena is going to be one kick-ass heroine. Can't wait for the book.Furthermore, in a recent chat, JR Ward has confirmend that JM and Xhex are definitely a pair, and even though JM's book is coming next after Rhev, we don't have to wait for his book to see more of him and Xhex. Oh..this waiting is killing me..LOL..
Thanks for the list Shannon. More books to add to my tbr list.I finally got my hands on Lover Enshrined (about halfway through) and JM and Xhex will be an awesome pair.
I just read this on Gena Showalter's blog."...I have set Aeron's story aside for the moment. Revisions came in for Intertwined and copy edits for Seduce the Darkness. Plus, I was reminded that I owe my publisher a Lords of the Underworld novella -- which I will probably begin writing while I'm traveling next week for the book tour."
Explains why we have to wait so long for the next LotU novel and gives us something else to look forward to. Looks like she's also going to offer a free download of something called "The Amazon's Curse" on 3/1. Woo Hoo!
Ah... and that's always the tough bit with having put the first three books out in such quick succession, people expect the fourth to be out fairly quick as well (that's my excuse for being impatient LOL). Hopefully she finishes it soon, our Aeron's going to completely loose his mind! ;)
Oh, and since this seems to have missed our lists Bad Moon Rising, Kenyon's latest Dark Hunter book is due out 04 Aug.
I am so excited about this week I am getting like five books:White Witch Black Curse By Kim Harrison
Kitty Raises Hell by Carrie Vaughn
Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione
The Vampire Bride by Gena Showalter
As Shadows Fade: The Gardella Vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason
Thank goodness all but one are in paperback.

Amy...
Did you read Ink Exchange by Marr? I don't know if it's a sequel to Wicked Lovely exactly, but it's set in the same world and Seth and Aislinn do show up. If you haven't, that might tide you over until the new one comes out. :)

I know! White Witch, Black Curse comes out tomorrow. I'm trying to finish up the book I'm on today so I can start it as soon as possible!
Shanon I know right I am going to the bookstore tonight to see if they messed up and put it out early which they frequently do :>
ooh - good luck with that. It's a good idea! I do ebooks so not usually any chance of an employee making a mistake - bummer!
Waiting on book #8 of the Sookie Stackhouse collection in paperback which comes out next month. Yay!!
Paula so is my dad. I didn't get into it though.I wish I could join in on this, but I can't keep up with my books that are coming out. I have too many series. Does anyone know of a good way to keep track of this? I mean I guess I could just start jotting them down, but that won't get done till the summer. I definitely don't have the time. Plus, it would be an extremely long list. With the books not always coming out on a certain date its not like can just say oh fall 2010 on my calendar... We really need to keep on GR about linking series... The next step would be notification of new books!
There are a lot of people on these threads who are keeping track and helping us all out.I also started a (personal) calendar on google docs to keep track of release dates, and I just check Amazon every once in awhile to see what's coming up.
I keep a excel spreadsheet to track my books. One thing I've started doing on GoodReads to track my upcoming releases is putting books that aren't out yet on their own shelf. My 'tr-not-out-yet' shelf. I make a note in the 'Private Notes' section of the release date & then I can sort my shelf by the notes. Super easy!
I read in the GR Feedback group a while ago that they are going to start working on linking series together in the future. I'm sure their To-Do list is SUPER long though.
Feel free to put what New Releases you're waiting for down in a comment on this thread & I'll add it to our list. I repost it every time we get 10 new books added.
Shanon that sounds cool. Nichole I like your idea too. My thing was I just don't feel like making a spread sheet up to keep up with my series. I'll have to stop being so lazy though...My dad said that he was still hackling the one head guy. I'll have to tell him that they have started getting a linking system started. I just hope that they are still leaving it to the good reads librarians to do the linking. Just the option to link the books together is needed.
I don't know if they've started linking series yet... I just know it's one of the many plans in the future to make the site more user friendly. Probably don't want to stop hassling for it to get done yet - The squeeky wheel gets the grease & all.... hehehe
Well, I think it will be easier to track new books as more authors join GR. Right now, some authors send notices about their new releases to friends, and GR just instituted favoriting an author. You go to an author profile, click "Become a Fan" to follow that author, and I think you receive a notice when the author makes a blog post. Presumably, authors post when they come out with new books. Hopefully more authors will join GR and take advantage of this feature! :)

I must admit I'd never noticed it before, but I've now got several authors in my favorites list. =)
I just noticed that Rachel Caine has 2 books coming out this year for her Morganville Vamp series#5 - Carpe Corpus out 6/1/09
#6 - Fade Out The Morganville Vampires out 11/3/09
Ooo, I really want to start that series but I'm trying to get through her Weather Warden series first.

Ooh, fun! I just read the first book on a flight yesterday, and I'm hooked. Happily I packed the next three in my luggage, so I'll make a good start on the series.
I saw Laurell K Hamilton announced the title of the next Merry Gentry book - #8 will be: Divine Misdemeanors. It's not on GoodReads yet but Amazon has the release date as 10/27/09!I can't wait to see what happens to Merry next! That girl has all the fun :)
I thought so too - the plot seemed to be all wrapped up in the last one. I liked Merry & all the fey so I'm excited for more.
Here it is sorted by date This first one is sorted by date.Items in blue have been added since the last post.

Awesome list - as always. I noticed that the release date for Second Skin is listed as May 3rd, but it's actually out today. Just thought I'd clear that up in case anyone else is waiting for it (I'm off to pick up my copy today - more Dmitri! Woohoo!)
Shanon wrote: "I thought so too - the plot seemed to be all wrapped up in the last one. I may have to send one of you a PM later to find out who finally knocks her up. ;)
lol, DarkHeart -I've read the first two and haven't continued on either, though I may at some point.
But I did read some reviews for the most recent one here on goodreads, and at least one of the reviews spilled the beans on that. So if you have time and patience, just go looking through the reviews and you can find out. (It probably wouldn't take that long.)
I won't say here, but it really made me roll my eyes...
