What happens if a reader doesn't like a book?

They SOUND great, but it's not like choosing a book when you can read the sample chapters.

Are you really interested in what a reader like me thinks or do reviews help you sell your books?

Reviews do help sell books. But what the readers think also helps writers do better. My book was free for a few days on Amazon before going back to 99 cents, but I'm sending a PDF copy out to anyone interested in reading & reviewing it.

I ask for readers to read and review my book without asking them to buy it. I send a pdf of my book. I think it is understood by authors that the pdf is for them alone and not to be shared. If they like what they read, they may end up purchasing it, or not. It's completely up to them. If they write an honest review, that is all I'm asking for. So I have to be ready to accept a review by a reader who doesn't like the book. Of course I am interested in what a reader like you thinks. You are a reader and I wrote my book to be read, not to sit in a warehouse. And yes, reviews may help in selling the book. Maybe not. For me, the feedback is what is important. It will make my next book better.
If, in reversing the coin, I offer to read and write reviews for authors, I find it expands my reading repertoire and makes me a better writer and a better person. Afterall, isn't that what reading and writing are all about?
