I just finished this book, You'll LOVE it. Damian Stark is another dark and twisty, HOT, dominate male. He's right up there with Christian and Gideon.

Bared to you is about a billionaire,Gideon, who is very Dominant and meets Eva who is strong willed but submits to him. They both have a dark past that affects them, and they try very hard to make it work. It is very similar to FSoG but without the kink. (so far)I like that series better because Gideon is more realistic!

YES, it's very similar, but of course it doesn't top Christian Grey <3, yum.

message 113: by Bebe (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bebe Found a new erotic romance that made me reminiscent of 50 Shades of Grey. The "Up in the Air" series is a better story that 50 shades and is better written, but is similar in numerous ways. There 's a virgin, a Dom billionaire and suspense. Check it out. It won't disappoint!

message 114: by Pearls (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pearls If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones is a great read, it is actually two stories in one: Sara, who is reading the journals of Rebecca. You can also download additional Lost Journals. IIWY is on sale right now, too. I liked 50 Shades so much, I made a book club for chatting about romance/erotic novels. Join us at www.InnerGoddessForum.com or our Goodreads Inner Goddess group.

message 118: by Amelia (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amelia Try the Inferno (M.S. Shadlock.) It's about a sex casino in Vegas and it's far hotter and better written than 50 Shades. I just finished it. Really, really fantastic read and totally original. http://www.amazon.com/The-Inferno-Veg...

Lynette Anjali wrote: "OMG OMG OMG!!! Try reading when I'm with you and because your mine series! WOW JUST WOW! I had to turn the ac on in January !"

Anjali- who writes these books?

message 120: by Bebe (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bebe Beth Kery. If you have a Kindle you can get them for 1.99 each. They 're really short though.

Lynette Bebe wrote: "Beth Kery. If you have a Kindle you can get them for 1.99 each. They 're really short though."

Thanks! I'm not a huge fan of these novellas that span over numerous books though- so thanks for the heads up...seems like a rip sometimes :(

message 122: by Dawn (new)

Dawn I saw that someone wrote they read Knight by Kristin Ashley which I agree is a very good book. Her next book is also just as good called Creed.

Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) by Kristen Ashley ;

Natalie T They are good books by Kristen Ashley. Creed is first then knight and now there is raid.

message 126: by Tack (new)

Tack Pinz Crimson's Captivation is very similar to Rice's Sleeping Beauty. It has that fairy tale feeling and is set in the historical backdrop of the Great Northern War (1700s). Best of all, not only is it hot like Sleeping Beauty, the author has includes vampires and werewolves. An exciting read. http://www.melange-books.com/authors/...

Martine I love this discussion!! Thank you all for the recommendations! I'm always looking for new authors to read, and I am never disappointed by all your posts! :)

Claiming of Sleeping Beauty was too much for me, I could hardly get through it and did not finish the series. I am ok with BDSM but not against someones will, I like both participates to be willing.

message 131: by Pearls (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pearls Amy, I completely agree with you!! I couldn't finish it either.

I just read a compelling murder mystery that has the heroine trying to choose between two wealthy lovers that both like rough sex. Trudy is very cheeky. The two former friends are both suspects. It is called The Object of His Desire by P.J. Adams

Anna Jeffrey

message 133: by Pearls (new) - rated it 4 stars

message 135: by Anna (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anna I just read that the release date for the 50 Shades movie is August, 2014. I'm really curious to see what they'll do with this in a movie, given that movies are visual media and most of the book was about character-building and sex.

If BDSM happens against someone's will, then it's a crime novel. :-)

Tonie Green Have you read Shayla Black was introduced to her Wicked Lovers series and she is Pre Fifty Shades. There is seven that I know of so far.

message 138: by Pearls (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pearls Anna, it is nothing like it. Virginal teenage vampires versus BDSM adult twentysomethings. She just used a basic plot outline from it. Same sense of self hatred for him.

message 139: by Anna (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anna Was YA the target audience for 50 Shades?

message 140: by Pearls (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pearls Ann, no, not at all. It was a what if they were adults exploration. The orinal was posted on a fanfic board, and she had to make a few copyright changes when the offer to publish came.

message 150: by Kirby (new) - rated it 3 stars

Kirby The "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy, for me, is kind of a guilty pleasure. I know it's not necessarily intellectual, and frankly, it's riddled with syntax and grammatical errors, missing words, etc. It's not exactly brain food. However, I will be finishing the second novel today, and I've honestly been enjoying the story. I definitely plan to read the third novel. I own it and will likely start right away tonight or maybe tomorrow. The plot is an unrealistic fantasy, and that's the point of fiction, in my opinion - to take you away from reality to a place where maybe the characters are living lives you'd like to have.

If you want to read something that takes the BDSM lifestyle more seriously, then I would highly recommend (as others here have) the trilogy by Anne Rice (A. N. Roquelaure), which consists of "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty," "Beauty's Punishment," and "Beauty's Release." I've read the first two novels in that trilogy and own and plan to read the third. Even people who practice BDSM recommend this trilogy (and often hate the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy).

Otherwise, I haven't read any additional erotic fiction.
