~KarenH~ | 11343 comments My understanding is that it's all a matter of which publisher holds the rights to the book in any given country, and whether or not they decide to release it, so it could show up tomorrow, or it may never show up. It's so frustrating to me, and it almost never affects me - I'd be ripping my hair out if I had to deal with it on a daily basis!

I finished another book from my list: First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones

It was a quick, funny read. I enjoyed reading it very much, and I'm really, really curious about Reyes.

Thanks for the rec.

Christina (christinaovallsbooks) | 384 comments Finished my second book this month, Darkfever. I gave it 2.5 stars. I really didn't get into this one.

message 556: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments just finished picks 2 & 3 for the month:
Lover Enshrined - I have a love/hate relationship with BDB. JR Ward's abuse of the letter H is shameful. This one just had too much going on. The romance was non-existent. gave it three stars due the continuation of the other stories, John Matthew, Rehv, and Qhuay (sigh)

In Bed with a Highlander - fun book, reminded me a lot of Julie Garwood's Scottish books.

done:
The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks

This series, as a whole, is phenomenal! Yes, Rainbow Mac is super annoying in the beginning but it only gives her more room to grow into one super-kickass heroine ;) Not to mention Barrons. *sigh*

Alright, maybe I won't give up on this series yet. Mac was really whiny throughout most of the book, but she did seem to get better toward the end.

MountainKat | 31598 comments Hi Breann, I just finished my second pick - The Locker Room by Amy Lane! Oh my goodness, thank you so so much for picking it! I loved it! It grabbed me right from the start and I was just couldn't help but to keep read when I should have been doing other things. This book wasn't even on my radar and this is a new author for me, it won't be the last book I read by her though, that it was a sports book was just the cherry on top! Thank you again!!

I love Barrons too. Yeah Mac (Rainbow girl) gets better towards the end of the series.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I thought it was such a sweet, sweet story. I still haven't read more Amy Lane, but I plan to as well.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Yz the Whz Just finished your second pick Gabriel's Ghost (Dock Five Universe, #1) by Linnea Sinclair and I absolutely loved it. I gave it 4.5 stars. What an amazing story - I'm not sure I'm happy though about having to add another series to my never ending humongous pile. You are two for two this month!! Thanks so much for some great picks!!

*happy dance*

I love that book. I have a major crush on Sully. If you have the chance, pick up the next book. It's slightly darker and more intense, but it's very good. It's a little heart-breaking, but Sully and Chaz made it through.

message 569: by Nancy H (new)

Nancy H | 1111 comments I finished my second PIFM for this month: Secondhand Spirits by Juliet Blackwell. I wasn't sure I was going to like it at the beginning, but the more I read, the better it got, and by the end, I couldn't put it down.

That's okay, Ashley. We certainly don't have to like everything we read! I just finished one that I almost put down at the beginning, but then it got better, so I know how you feel! I hadn't read that one, but saw it on your TBR list and thought it looked interesting, which is why I recommended it.

Breann | 398 comments MountainKat wrote: "I even began to like the cover too! =P"

hehe... That cover (and title) makes the book seem like it's going to be a cheesy, erotic book. But it's not. It has it's cheesy and erotic moments but it's really just a great love story. It makes me wonder how many people in the sports world have to live like that. It's heartbreaking.

I had that feeling too. Don't worry. Andrews just throws you into her pool of ice-cold world building. Then throws some more ice on you just as your warming up.

I have a total crush on Sully and I don't normally do that with characters. He's like the perfect blend of tender and tough. I can't wait to read the next one, but you just scared me!! Thanks, again!

I finished my sport themed book for the month Taking a Shot (Play by Play, #3) by Jaci Burton . I really like this series and this third book didn't disappoint. It was steamy and fun! Will start the Hunger games soon .
