No problem. Right now I don't have power in my house bc of the hurricane but ill send them as soon as I can. Prolly tomorrow or Saturday as soon as I can get to my b.f.'s house to use his internet. Do u want me to send them to u thru a message on Ur profile?
Does anyone think we need a "Challenge help" thread??I was just trying to find books for the 50 states and am definitely struggling, but I didn't wan to clog up the challenge thread with my requests for help! LOL!
but, if I'm the only one, I don't need my own personal thread either! :D I was just thinking it might be nice.... what do you guys think?

That would be very helpful! I can't find many books for the 50 states challenged either D:
Trisha- I just made it! I put it under a new folder titled: HELP. The discussion is Challenge Help! Thanks for the great suggestion!
Jacquelyn wrote: "Trisha- I just made it! I put it under a new folder titled: HELP. The discussion is Challenge Help! Thanks for the great suggestion!"Thank you Thank you!!! I will clog that soon with my help requests! LOL!!! :D
I have an idea you could do one where we count the number of pages we read, and try to reach a certain goal.
That is a great idea, Anna! I'm going to create a thread for it, maybe spice it up a little when I get back! Thanks for the suggestion!
Good idea, but it is used in another group already. If we are going to use it, we have to ask their permission first. I don't like using people's idea without their permission :)
maybe we could set a goal as a group?? and then, when we post how many books we've read, we can post the page number too??I don't know, is that maybe a different spin on it so it could be ours?
Yes, Gisbelle is right but I'm not sure if we would have to ask them if we did Trisha's ideas maybe we wouldn't have to! I love the idea of working together as a group! How many pages do you think we could set for?
well...if we read about 270 books a month...and we'll say they are about 300 pages each....270x300 = 81,000 WOW! :D
and then we could call the "winner" as the person who reads the most pages...
81,000 sounds like a lot but I think with our group we could do it! Maybe we should round it up to 85,000 what do you think?
I would think no...since it's a pretty different challange. But, you know...I really don't know how all that works and I haven't seen the other challange. Have you?? ...I'd hate to lead you astray!
I've never seen one where a group picks a number of pages and the group works for it so I guess we wouldn't! Okay, onto the details! When would you like to start?! Should we try to get the pages done within a certain amount of time or just take it easy and see how long it takes us? You can either keep posting on here or PM me! Whichever is easier!
what do you think of trying this as a monthly one? Kind of like where we keep track of the books we've read. On the same thread, we could keep track of how many pages (have that possibly be part of the post?) and then do a separate count of pages. It's kind of cool, because you can read less books (not be #1 in book count) but still win if you read books that are longer.

But moderating how many pages we have read in the month is very difficult because some people may not make a correct calculation, so the moderator needs to redo everything.
Here is how the other group does it.
Their goal is a million pages.

Gisbelle- Well I could do the page stats and you could stick with the book stats. I don't mind doing a little more work! Would you like to add the challenge to the group, Gisbelle?
If you moderate it, I am totally game. So how are you going to do it? With goal or just keep track of how many pages we have read in a month?
I definitely can take control of it. I think we should do 2 different things though: one for books and the other for pages. I think it will make it easier for me and you. Well, I am thinking we should do December as a see how many pages as we can read in a month and then start the goal thing in 2013. Does that sound good?
I like it better if we just keep track. No need goal because if we include goal, it is like we copy from other group and we need to ask their permission.
Okay, well should we just keep track in general or for each month? And yes, yes it a lot of work, Angela, but as long as it's for the group I'm glad to do it!
Ok let's do it. We just keep track. One problem is that some books are only available in Kindle format.
Wait..just keep track of the months or just in general? Yeah, I was thinking about that but when people go on Amazon, if there's only Kindle editions they usually show you how many pages are there. I will also be making them look up the pages either in the book or on Amazon, because from past experiences Goodreads has been wrong when it came to amount of pages.
Monthly would be great. You can create a new folder and keep it below Month Book Count. Called it Month Page Count if you like :)
Here's the What Is This thread: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
That is not where you will post the page amount! You will be doing that in:

I've been brainstorming.. I have some fun ideas waiting to hatch. When will we be ready to expand our horizons?
lol so I'm wondering if we can do a challange that involves reading some of your free books - like on our ereaders...I am going through my Kindle and OMG! I have so many books! LOL!
I know many groups (and bloggers) have a challenge that is called something like "why buy the cow when the milk is free"...something like that.
maybe we could put a twist on it!? anyway, maybe it would make me read some of these free books I clicked on! :D

That's a great idea!! I don't have a lot, but I've got enough (:
so like a challenge that we read only free books? If you like Trisha, you can create a thread for that.
lol Okay, let me see if I can get either some ideas from these other challenges - or approval to copy them :DI'll be back...but first I have to finish marking all my kindle books! LOL
I'm on page.....17 with no end in sight! LOL!

I absolutely love this idea! I have so many as well! If you need any help with ideas or anything, you can always private message me!! I am excited! :D
What about reading the books with heroes to complete the alphabet or to read a book for every colour of the rainbow?
We have an option (option c) in our A-Z reading challenge that requires you to find the main character names.2015: A-Z Reading Challenge
Our Colorful Year Challenge does fulfill your second suggestion (I don't say they are all the colors from the rainbow, but there are 11 colors)
Thanks for your suggestions.
We're also planning to post another color challenge. Stay tuned.
Have you heard of Book Wars? I participated in one from the last group I was in but the mods became inactive and the challenge was never finished. It was so fun though so I'd love to do it again c: Here's a link:
