Welcome, everyone! Hannah and Ken - good to know you have opinions and reviews! I've already added to my growing TBR pile because of this group. Still trying to decide if that's a good thing or not...

I've been bouncing around Goodreads for a good group to join and this here group seems to be the one. Honest reviews and no bashing--yes! Read any genre you want--bullseye. Young, old and in-between.

Hey there I'm Jonathan and I'm in plenty of groups. I mod a few as well. I was sent an invite by a friend and thought it looked like a decent group to join.
Welcome Jonathan - yes, I'd say we're a decent group, except when we start talking about caffeine and sugar, and then watch out!

Vicki, never done a reading challenge, how does it work? A certain number of books read in a certain amount of time? Can you choose the books? Yeah for The Priest and Aerenden! Hopefully, your eyes won't be too tired when you'll start reading them :)

The fun part is that it ended up between another girl and myself, and we were joking back and forth and PMing each other. We got to REALLY know each other through it all. Our challenge was over on Saturday morning at 9:00 my time. I was up until 5:30 AM reading until Saturday morning. It was so much fun but I read EVERYWHERE I went...even to the bathroom. LOL I won and got to choose 2 free books. :o)

Hello! My name is Jalyn (pronounced Juh-lyn) and I'm 27 with a husband and 3 little boys. I started writing reviews on goodreads back in August and I really enjoy it. My goal is to re-read all the books I've read that I liked and write a review on them and to continue reviewing everything I read from now on :)

Thank you Vered! My name just popped into my mom's head one day while she and my dad were in their car. My dad wasn't a big fan at first. He actually didn't even agree on it until I was born and ready to leave the hospital. They weren't allowed to leave with me until I had a name so he just gave in :D Until a few years ago I had only met 3 people with a close version of my name. Nobody had heard it, but now it's getting popular (though most people pronounce it Jay-lyn). It's actually made it's way into baby name books and it's listed as American. Sorry, I'm rambling!

I wish I had much more time to read, but I am a new author (published in August) and have been working very hard at book two these days. I am working to try and find a balance that gives me more time to read and would like to make contributions to the group. I've been very appreciative of blog reviews I've received, and want to know more about the world of blogging in general, and hopefully find some more places that are interesting in reviewing my work. I hope I'm in the right place! :)

Well, it's a really hard balance. I've recently decided to shift my scales from writing and editing and reading and reviewing . I've also just opened up an area on my blog for helping my fellow Indie Authors get exposure. You can check out my Author Features Page and submit your name for the queue if you want to get reviewed, get featured, do a giveaway etc. My queue is currently booking 2-3 mos out so sometime in February timeframe (plus or minus a month - could be late January or early March) I have a few authors who submitted after seeing me post here on Goodreads but mostly I'm catching up on reviews I wanted to do for the past year and haven't had time to get to yet.
Don't feel badly if you cannot do it all. NO ONE can! Be sure to participate in conversations before you post promotions, though. The 10 million Goodreads users seem to be entirely unforgiving when it comes to authors shamelessly shelf-promoting their books...or so it seems to us authors, esp. the newer ones. Don't take any of it personally and be sure to read the Author Guidelines (the Goodreads Admin ones not just the guidelines each group writes up) before you promote anything :)
