Yep you have to behave...LOL

Vered (vered_ehsani) Hi again - Under 'Reviews', I've started topics based on genre. Let me know what other genres to include (I just put up a few to start us off). This way, book reviews can be posted by genre, making the overall folder tidier and also easier for people to find books in a genre that interests them.

Stephanie (Tillerphish) | 3 comments Hi I'm Steph

I'm new to the e-reader world (my husband just bought me my first kindle) so I'm looking for books to read :) time to transition from old school paper pages I guess lol

Lydia Drace (lydiadrace) | 3 comments Hi,

I'm Lydia and a new author on goodreads. I'm still waiting for the site to activate my author profile but I was hoping to get some feedback on my book if anyone cares to read it for free.

message 56: by Elisa (new)

Elisa (ocdreader) | 4 comments Hi everyone, and thank you for the invite Vered. I am an eclectic reader and have been trying to post thoughtful reviews since I joined goodreads early last year. It helps me remember what I have read. I love being on Goodreads, I have found way too many good books here and have turned my love of reading into a pretty crazy addiction. I love fantasy, Urban fantasy, dystopia, YA and the like but also throw in thrillers, mysteries and contemporary fiction (with a non-fiction here and there) I have met some amazing people I now consider friends since I started all this and I look forward to meeting all of you! :) Oh, if you are interested, I started a book review blog earlier this year http://lostinsidethecovers.wordpress.com - I do around 3 reviews a week. Cheers!

We aren't an adult only group but we can do reviews on erotica and maybe put that in an adults only folder with a disclaimer...Hmmmm I'll have to think on how to do that exactly

I think it's a GREAT idea! I know where I won't be posting reviews. LOL

message 63: by Farrah (new)

Farrah | 0 comments Hi, I'm Farrah. Thanks for the invite. Looking forward to reading lots of reviews. My eternal TBR list could always use a few new additions. I love reviewing books, although I can't say I am very good at it LOL. But I love reading and chatting about good books.
Not a published author yet...but working on it. :)

Good idea - tell me which book should be posted under which folder and I'll try to move them.

message 65: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Warm welcome to everyone who's joined up! I look forward to reading about new books in the reviews.

Also feel free to invite other friends to this group.

An adult only folder is a good idea. Any other genres - let us know and we'll start a topic on it.

message 66: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Hi - I'll create a Steampunk topic. I tried to move those reviews, but no luck. Can you re-post those reviews under the appropriate topic, and then I'll delete the other ones. Thanks!

And I'm interested to learn more about steampunk!

message 67: by Geoffrey (new)

Geoffrey Wakeling | 12 comments I've never really read steampunk until I tried out Lindsay Buroker's 'The Emperor's Esdge'. Really enjoyed the book and really enjoyed the genre! :D

message 68: by Junying (new)

Junying | 27 comments Hello, everyone.

First of all, thanks to Vered fo the invite, and I'm hoping to get to know some of you better soon.

Secondly, I am an avid reader, and also a writer of contemporary fiction. You can find my first two book listed here on GR, and my 3rd will be out at the end of this month, hopefully.

Vered has kindly written reviews for my both book last year, for which I'm very grateful. If any of you kind readers find my books of interest to you, please do not hesitate to contact me for a free copy to read and review - guess I'll go to a different thread for this, but I want you to know :)

I have a blog which I post reviews and promote other authors' books as well: http:/www.junyingkirk.com. Do drop by and feel free to contact me if you wish to contribute in anyway, or simply see what I do.

Will visit other threads tomorrow, and good night from the UK!

message 69: by Jeri (new)

Jeri Walker (jeriwalker01) Thanks for the invite. My name is Jeri and my book blog is finally coming into its own. I review indie and traditionally published books and I am also in the process of writing my first novel. Lost Girl Road is a ghost story set in the woods of northwest Montana.

message 70: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Oh yeah, I love ghost stories! Welcome, everyone

message 71: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm Hannah! Thanks for the invite, Vered; I love reading/reviewing books and I'm always interested in discussing them with people, so I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone about a variety of books! I enjoy reading mystery, fantasy/sci-fi (particularly steampunk - I was so happy to find an actual steampunk reviews section!), historical and YA fiction. Even better if it's a mix of several genres with a bit of romance to boot!

I really admire all of you with your review blogs, too - I'd love to start one, but currently I'm busy writing my honours thesis. Maybe one day!

Welcome everyone... Vered without you as a moderator I think I might have started pulling my hair out. I was not expecting this group to grow so fast so "You Rock & Thank you so much"...I would like to have at least 2 more moderators since the group is still growing let us know if you are interested.

Well for the reviews that don't fit one genre or another or you just don't know just post it in it's own topic under Book Reviews folder and we can figure out the rest later

message 76: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Or maybe let's create a folder "Mixed genre", otherwise we will get too many folders on the list! With the rate we're all reading, it will be quite an ordeal to find anything!

I'm thinking individuals for each genre that way everyone doesn't have to scroll through too many messages for the review they want

message 82: by Solace (new)

Solace Winter (solacewinter) | 3 comments Hi, I'm Solace, and thank you for the invite! I have been reviewing books for quite a while, every year I seemed to take a different approach until I realized I'm a much better ranter. Though I heap on praise for some authors, I'm better at dissecting a book and finding what an author could work on. It's made me popular, an unpopular, among some of the self-published authors. I'm in love with every genre and look forward to discovering even more.

message 83: by Heather (new)

Heather | 3 comments Hi all,

My name is Heather, and I live in California. I'm mostly "just" an English teacher, but I've also started editing books on the side. I'm currently working on a website to inform authors about my services.

I love to read, and I've been deemed a "speed reader" by most people who know me. I love reading, editing, and commenting on books. I write fair, non-judgmental reviews while focusing on the basics of plot and character development, voice, dialogue, and grammatical accuracy.

As far as genre goes, I prefer biographies, historical fiction, young adult, mystery/thriller, urban, and LBGT books, but I'm open to anything as long as it's well-written and captivating.

:)

Hi, Heather!

Please don't red pen of death my post to you :) KIDDING (sort of)!

I have written a couple of books in your preferred genres. If you take a peek here: http://jomichaels.blogspot.com/p/link... and let me know if there's anything you'd like to read (for a review or just for fun) let me know and I'll send you a digital copy.

I love English teachers! :)

Looking forward to it!

Jo

message 86: by Robb (new)

Robb Grindstaff (robb_grindstaff) Hi everyone, and thanks for the invite. My name is Robb. I'm an avid reader -- at times. It goes in bursts. I'm an author and a fulltime book editor, so reading for 'pleasure' often gets pushed off my agenda for large chunks of time. I tend not to write reviews, as that opens up some ethical concerns since I'm a book editor and an author. But I love to discuss great (or even not-so-great) books, so I'm pleased to be here.

message 87: by Heather (new)

Heather (ham1299) Hello. I'm Heather. I have a book blog, and have had it for awhile now. I love sharing my books with others, and so the blog is perfect for me.

I'll be honest, I was invited to this group and am just now looking around. I'm not 100% sure I understand what I'm doing here. LOL

message 88: by Heather (new)

Heather (ham1299) I noticed the sections with reviews by genre. Are we supposed to post our reviews in there, or can we post links to the reviews on our blogs? What's the protocol?

message 89: by Heather (new)

Heather (ham1299) Thanks, Sarajayne! :-)

message 90: by Eri (new)

Eri Nelson (erinelson) Hello,

I want to thank Kristen for the invite and extend a warm embrace to the group for allowing me to be among you.

I am not as active as some on Goodreads but I do try my best to check in here and there.

My name is Eri (airy) Nelson and typically I enjoy action/paranormal/urban fantasy reads with some heat. However, I will venture out of my genre for a good read and a fabulous author. :)

Best Wishes
Eri

Hi Eri, I'm not really into "erotica" per se, so if you have any books (now or future) that are steamy but not hard core, those I'd love to read. :o)

message 93: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) Welcome, Everyone! I've been down sick the past couple days, but great to see all the new faces. Hopefully I'll be back up on Monday (yeah, great, what a way to spend the weekend; on the plus side, I'm getting a lot of reading done!)

message 94: by Vered (new)

If you post your review to a specific webpage and just want to post the link that fine. But if you could tell us a little about the book like auther, genre and a synopsis that would be great

message 98: by Vered (new)

Vered (vered_ehsani) So it's official - I have a full on throat infection. Can barely swallow. Am on antibiotics. Blah. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Good side: I ploughed through 3 ebooks in the past 2 days. So there's an upside to the downside. Will post comments later about them.

message 99: by Monica Porta (new)

Monica Porta | 196 comments Terrible for the throat infection :( But hurrah for the book reading, Vered :)
