James Lenox | 2 comments I read this book in the mid 1990s, which was part of a book club my mother was a part of.

The setting has a little house on the prairie feel to it. Where alot of time is spent talking about how much of what they have is manufactured by the family themselves rather than bought. The technology level is about the same, but it takes place in the South instead of the Western Frontier

The main character is a girl who discovers she is a witch and is trained through the course of the book by her Aunt/female on her mother's side. The book starts with the girl having visions of the werewolves terrorizing the town, but later has a vampire that comes to her little town, and then she goes to another town that has a ghost terrorizing their town through their fireplaces.

At the end of the story she is given a necklace that has semiprecious stones that represent the situations she has dealt with. It kind of is a resume to show any potential employers her competency as a witch.

The genres are supernatural mystery because the structure of the three stories is that first the identity of the supernatural beings need to be identified and then they are dealt with.

The book title and cover pertained only to the werewolf storyline with the title having something to do with her ability to dream about the werewolves.

Perhaps Night Calls by Katharine Eliska Kimbriel?

James Lenox | 2 comments Yes! That is it. Great story that has stuck with me for over 15 years.
