I know :) I've had the series on my TBR for a while and I was doing the readathon over at 144 books so I figured I might as well get reading. So far there's been enough variety that I haven't gotten bored.
I'm reset to zero.I went to a few garage sales today. I bought a set of Choose Your Own Adventure books for my eldest son for $1 (for 5 books). I bought a set of Goosebump books for my middle son (one volume of combined books plus 4 others for $1). For myself I bought:
Easy Diabetic Recipes by Sally Hunt for $1
Kitchen Comforts: Recipes to Feed Body and Soul by Gay T. Boassy for $1
Cooking for Kids Collection $2
Ooh me too! I read a ton of those growing up. That and the Baby Sitters Club and Nancy Drew entertained me for YEARS! If the BSC wasn't out of print I'd try to find a way to buy the whole series! I know they are re-releasing the first few in the series for a new generation though. :)
What I think is funny is my middle son is the one who is scared of the most stuff on tv, yet he discovered and loves Goosebumps. Go figure. I couldn't pass up the set for $1 for him. The hardcover has 3 books in it, plus 4 more books. And my eldest just discovered Find-Your-Own-Fate or Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books. You read a few pages and make a choice. Depending on your choice, depends on where you continue reading. He kept dying, lol, and had to read it 8 or more times til he got to a decent ending. lol The cookbooks I bought for myself are high quality. I paid $4 for the 3 cookbooks, and cover prices are: $24.95, $19.95 and $29.95. All are hardcover and sprial bound. I hated to pass that up, and I'm so far behind on this count-off, I decided to go for it.
I read my way through the Trixie Belden mysteries as a kid. I read them all from the library but owned about half the series or more. Actually... still own them. lol I have them buried behind a few other books on a shelf. I've thought about rereading them again and see if I still enjoy them. I liked The Hardy Boys on tv, but didn't care for the books and never got into Nancy Drew. The Baby-Sitters club is after my time. lol
Oh, lord. I was part of the BabySitters Club fanclub when I was girl! I was crazy obsessed with it. Even had the dolls.Kate, I was the same way. I absolutely cannot watch anything horror-ish, but I read pretty much every single Goosebumps book I could get a hold of, then moved on to Fear Street.

I seriously had nothing to do today. Well, after 3 p.m. I didn't. And those last two books went by really quickly.
If i hadn't slept all day, I would have had nothing to do...lol!Christine wrote: "I seriously had nothing to do today. Well, after 3 p.m. I didn't. And those last two books went by really quickly."
Ahh... sleep. I remember that... I wish I had gotten more of it last night because I'm draggin' today.
it wasn't good sleep, that's why I slept so long, I kept hoping it would get better...my best sleep was the nap I took at 4pm, vice the "sleep" from 8am to 2pm...lol! - probably because I took tylenol and drugged myself
Yes, it's correct to start the next challenge, same day as the last one ended if a good portion of the day is left.

Nice new challenge. Don't know if we can read 5,000 pages in a week though. Then again, I've got two books to read next month published in May (for double pages)... but doubt I'll get ahold of them and read them within a week. Waiting on one pre-ordered from Amazon with a tues release date. The other I'm waiting for the library to get and I'm first in line on the waiting list.
Christine wrote: "I can extend it, if you want. Make it last until the 10th."That might help us out. :)
IDK - Christine managed to do 3k pages in about 3 days and then 2 in another 2; Nairabell wasn't too far behind...lol! I say change the date to teh 10th, but wouldn't be surprised to see someone make it before then

It's unusal for us to have that many pages read to win a challenge that quickly. There were several bonus pages too, so you have to take that into account. We'll just have to wait and see. :)

If you check the GoodReads page for the book, it'll tell you what month it was published.
