ha ha, I like the personal tie in Ann, If everyone is ok with me just counting the whole book. I didn't really read that much this past week anyway, that is why it is not done before you are Ann. When is MLK day, oh, it's the 18th.

BJ, I have been wanting to read Kelley Armstrongs series, how is it?Well, I am out of this one - I just got back from the store where I finally found a copy of Heart of Darkness and Playing with Fire and just couldn't pass it up.

is the 1st book in her Darkest Powers trilogy, and I thought it was great. It does start out a little slow, but you'll be rewarded if you stick with it. BTW, this is basically a YA book about some HS kids who have - um - dark powers. This is not the same series as Bitten, which I have not yet read.

Congrats BJ. Glad you liked the Study series. I need to find time to read the Glass series as well, so maybe we can read it together. Based on Jane's recommendation's I bought a used copy of the Gurnsey book (found a hardback for $3 used). Now I just need to find time to read it. It's one reason I'm backing off challenges more this year (or being creative in how I complete them, lol) so I can work in more books I want to read that don't fit challenges.
I totally flaked out on this challenge, lol. Congrads BJ. I'll give you a few hours to post the next challenge =D.
I finally gave up the book I wanted to read that didn't hold my interest. I felt guilty not reading it, but because I hadn't finished it, didn't start anything else. So I've only read novella's, or a chapter-a-day books which don't add up very fast.
Hi Kate: I'm with you. I read 4 online quickie's and I have been reading my current reads, which I finish before counting.

Sigh--I have zerio out my count and start all over again. I went to the library today to pick up a couple of books that I'd had on reserve and as I walked in the door I got hit by the aroma of--A BOOK SALE. Yes, yes, they were definately doing their job as pushers. Tables and tables and TABLES of books. (eyes glazing over in lust) I DID try to be good--I only got 1 small little plastic grocery bag of books. Er, um, well, then after that I went to the Dollar General store--and well, they had The Fire King a Dirk and Steel book that I didn't have--AND it was only $1.25. So, I bought that too.
I know, I know--back to working on those 12 steps again, right? Sigh, us junkies have such a difficult time with our addictions.
You may be out of the current challenge (or zero'd out) but you still got great buys on your books. Sometimes it's really hard to pass up a good deal.
Oh Ann, those library book sales get me every time too. lol I really feel for you, but Kate is right, that sounds like a great deal - not sure I would have been able to pass by either. I'm 2/3rds through Stephen King's The Green Mile Book Box Set (which qualifies for double credit). I am taking a break though. First off, I had trouble concentrating to read anyway, secondly I wasn't in the right frame of mind to read the next bit of the book I was up to... The Bad Death of Eduard Delacroix. You see... yesterday morning I slipped on the ice at the bottom of the porch stairs, my feet flew out from under me, I went over backwards and landed on the concrete driveway head first. I was wearing a barrette in my hair which dug into my head then slid and cut me further. I ended up in the emergency room getting two staples in my head. Since I was tired, a bit groggy from time to time and lightheaded occassionally I probably had a mild concussion too. Under the circumstances... I wasn't reading.Today I went to the library to get a book that was in that had been on hold and starting Madeleine Albright's Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box.
It scared the crap out of me considering the amount of blood but I'm fine other than being extremely nervous on ice right now and having a headache.

It was very scary. I laid on the driveway crying because my head hurt but realizing at 9am everyone was at work or school and nobody would find me so I had to get up. Then I saw an 8 inch pool of blood where my head and been and went OMG! and got REALLY scared. I didn't want to drive myself to the ER and possibly get in an accident on the way and it took my mother 25 mins to get off the phone so I could get ahold of my parents to take me the the emergency room. The ER visit was over and done with in 45 mins and then they sent me home. I get the staples removed next thursday. So I'm left with my rattled nerves and a big headache.
Deb: The book looked almost new which was part of the temptation. I've never read NR and she's the FAC for this month in the RRRC author's challenge.
