As my reward I bought some used copies of a couple Stephanie Plum novels as the ebook copies I have have terribe spacing problems. (In one, it was one sentence per page, in another one paragraph per page).
This weekend is the 21st Annual Oregon Trail Rodeo here in Hastings, NE (USA) where I live. So in honor of it... Labor Day Rodeo Challenge

You're really eating up those Stephanie Plum books, Kate! I've been on a rereading binge of Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, but instead of adding those pages, I'm down to zero - I just bought a bunch of books. I've been holding myself back for months, but finally caved!
Yeah, I'm just reading the entire series straight through. They're stupid yet funny and I'm enjoying them as stress relief from my new job.

I don't usually listen to audiobooks. I have a few I've stumbled across but rarely listen to them. My husband likes them as he's a truck driver.

Not yet. Been busy working half the day, then taking the boys after school to the World's Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics in town so they could as Boy Scouts do the color guard. Then stopped across the street from that to Walmart to buy Nathan new shoes as he put a 3 inch hole in his shoes we bought new for school already. Then finally now at 8am finished dinner. I have NOT thought about the challenge yet. lolAfter I work tomorrow, I'll try to remember to get something new posted up.

I have to reset as I bought a book. Library book was a new release and I was late with it. So returned it and bought my own copy. I'm sure I'll read it again as will my son as we both like the tv show castle.
Seeing as it's past Oct 1st anyway, and BJ was ahead of me anyway, she wins. CONGRATS BJ.Seeing as only BJ and I have been taking part lately, do we want to put this challenge on hold for awhile? Take it up again in the new year? I can see folks buying books before the holidays but perhaps holding off for awhile with the new year as a resolution.
Kate, I think that's a great idea. We had quite a few people for a while, but maybe we lost some because they were buying books, so after New Year's sounds like a good plan.
Done deal then BJ. Maybe in the new year we'll more active again.
Is anyone else ready to start up with this challenge again? I could really use some motivation to read the TBR down.

i'd like to join but, the know how kinda confuses my mind. to put it simply all i need to do is t count the number of pages i have for a ceratin occation right? like for the new years challage, it's 5000 pages right? BTW this is the 1st time i will join,,,
The rules on how to play are in the very first post of this thread. This challenge is a different in two ways... one is that to play you can't buy any books while playing. The idea is to encourage you to read what you already have. The second is that we go by page count. Help on how to count pages (for ebooks, audio books, etc which also count) are in that first post. Otherwise, yes, you count the pages you've read during the dates of the challenge. If you start a book before the challenge starts, you can only count the pages you read to finish the book from that point on, not the entire book. If you have any questions after reading the initial post of rules, just ask.
