I finished today, 3/17/12. I'm giving it 4 stars. It was good but not as good as some of the other Rachel Morgan adventures. I liked seeing her and Trent improving their relationship and Ivy moving on. The crime wasn't really a mystery, they knew who did it early on and just needed to catch them. And I really missed Rachel's magic for most of the book. Looking forward to the next one!

Ah, it makes things so much easier when the shelf called is one you actually have on your list. But then it also means I have plenty of options. Here is my shortlist. I'll probably decide tomorrow which to read.

Yeah, that was a good trilogy. I think this one takes place in the same world -

Magic Shelf 3/20/12 ★★★★★

Following the assassination of Mab Monroe you'd think things would've quieted down for Gin Blanco, alias the Spider. You'd be wrong. Every lowlife who wants to make a name for himself thinks that knocking off the Spider is the way to do it.

Finn suggests a vacation to Gin and she is so tired she ends up agreeing. She takes Bria with her and they go to Blue Marsh so Bria can see her best friend Callie, who just happens to be engaged (view spoiler)[ to Detective Donovan Caine (hide spoiler)].

Gin, doesn't get much of a holiday, but she does end up getting closure on a past relationship and she and Bria come to an understanding. Owen of course isn't far away.

There was plenty of action and some hard lessons were learned, so I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next one.

I just started this today for the magic shelf

I don't know that series Diane, as it's the third one I assume they're good :)

Other than the ever present love triangle, yes. It's been a long time since I read the first two, so it took a little bit to get into this one, but now it is moving along nicely.

It is fun to see what other people are reading and what series you might have missed, that is one of my favorite parts of this game.

I read from the magic shelf. I gave it 4 stars. While I really liked the background on this character, I felt that the story was a little rushed, especially at the end. (Completed 3/20/12)

I finished for the magic shelf, 3/21/2012, 4 stars.

The book is the second in The Black Magician trilogy and it deals with learning magic in a school-like environment. It reminded me of Harry Potter the early books and The Name of The Wind, though the writing wasn't as complex. I really enjoyed reading it and am reading the next book right now.

I just finished my magic shelf book today (3/22) and gave it 3 stars.

Started slow with too much talking and not enough showing, but did get into some fascinating world building information about the fae, vampires and werewolves. I really like Persephone, Johnny and a bunch of the supporting characters. I don't like Menessos or love triangles. I am interested to see where they take the series from here.

Yay Emily, I think that is the one I missed when I was reading IAD. I've got it now and I've started re-reading the series so I'll get to it this time.

And Archangels Blade was surprisingly good, seeing as it was Dimitri and not Raphael/Elena. Enjoy Miss.

Not saying anything about Black Magic Woman as I don't want to jinx Cathy, and I'm hanging for the MMP of 2nd and 3rd Graves, so I'm jealous.

PNR UF Shelf 3/26/12 ★★★★★

Well, I've waited 19 months for this book from when I preordered it till it reached my hot little hands and it was so worth it. Ms Briggs brings this world effortlessly alive, so I'm surprised it took this long to make the book happen; I think we'll have to blame Mercy for being a limelight hog.

So, the werewolves have come out and Bran has been sending out Charles to lethally enforce the rules as he can't be seen to be soft. But it is taking a devastating toll on Charles and therefore on Anna as well. Bran, talking to Asil and Adam devises a plan to give Charles a break and sends them to Boston to help the FBI on a serial killer hunt. The last 3 murder victims were werewolves and Charles and Anna also detect Fae victims.

In fact all the victims appear to be supernatural and the hunt is on to determine who and what and how they are killing supes. The why is pretty obvious to all concerned.

Great book, hope there are more in the pipeline for Charles and Anna.

Sorry for being MIA recently. I started watching Roswell on Netflix this weekend and had to get through season 2. I will be reading for the PNR-UF shelf.

I just finished reading 3/28. I loved both stories and loved how Cole tied this story into the previous books. It brought 3 stories together at the end of this one. I just received the next book from the library. 5 stars

I finished for the PNR-UF shelf, 03/31/2012, 3.5 stars.
I love Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter world and i really enjoyed this book in the series. Even though I wanted the series to remain focused on Elena and Raphael, I came to enjoy Dmitri and Honor so much and all the secondary characters that I want to read their story too. The story line was a bit predictable but it packed quite an emotional punch so it was satisfying and there is a lot of potential for this series. I'll read the next book for sure, in fact I can't wait for it!

I just checked and the next shelf is readers choice :) I am going to read . Im continuing with my demon books
