I've asked the mods if it will work. I'll share if it works.

My book is on the shelf too. I could be 13 points!!!
I've got to go get my family up and out the door now, hopefully when I get back the mods will have approved doorstep as a place and
i will share me book. (can't let the other teams know what I'm up to just yet.)

They have to put a rule 2000 songs only (maybe to mid-80s)

doorstep/way is not considered a place. There really is no other place in the song.
Back to the drawing board.

Yes and now i have a dance party songs folder from last challenge till now but it's hard :(
PS i loved this week's song so much (still listening) ^_^

Miss Dawn, that is a "yes" on the cover. BTW, whenever the hero sings, the heroine thinks of spring.

I think I've found something to read. I'll post it later."
I was considering it too. I didn't want to post my other book too early either since it was going to be big points. Then I thought I too like stalking the others so I wouldn't not post it but I was going to wait as long as possible before posting. Can't inspire the enemy too much.

Shelf: 1 Friends to Lovers Shelf
Cover: 2 Snow
Setting: 6 Cabin by the lake
Total: 9 points (maybe 12)
I'm a little confused on the plot though. It says she meets up with her ex's best friend, but since it's on the friends to lovers shelf I'm guessing that means he was her friend too? Might just have to read it and find out lol.

I think I've found something to read. I'll post it later."
You ladies are cracking me up!! All secret spy readers, lol!!

So I'm stealing Dawn's The Ugly Duchess. Will start it tonight and hopefully finish by tomorrow night

So I'm stealing Dawn's The Ugly Duchess. Will start it tonight and hope..."
I'm about 70% done. It isn't the typical romance, I'm not sure what I think yet.

Book: The Duke Is Mine by Eloisa James
Finished: January 19th
Rating: ★★★★
Review: A lovely romance with some intensely emotional and poignant moments. One must approach the story with an open mind and read to the end in order to fully appreciate its message.
Olivia initially comes across as spoiled and hateful due to her treatment of the mentally disabled Rupert. However, once she learns of the reasons for his disability, she becomes his most ardent supporter and by the end of the book is is obvious that she is one of the few characters who actually appreciates his gifts, and is a true and loyal friend to him.
Tarquin also appears at first to be cold and calculating but he has suffered a terrible betrayal and a crippling loss that makes him afraid to love again.
There are a couple of iffy moments in the book such as the library scene and the farcical excursion to France but ultimately this is an entertaining read.

Cover: Spring, flowers and a pool of water (2 points)

Review : Cute book , after reading lots of New adults i'm back to the Younger ones .
I really enjoyed this book , very realistic in a very cute way , liked the author way of writing , Hayley character reminds me of Juno *another movie reference .
I felt sorry for Hayley for being self conscious i know that feeling but with mom like that :(
I loved the list and the chapters' naming i always liked that in books .

Review: The writing is totally sub-par, even for a YA book. I get that it's told from the POV of a 14y/o, but still. I think it might have been aimed more towards juvenile than YA. The story itself wasn't bad. It held my interest for the 4 hours it took me to finish and I'm a little interested in finishing the series - curious to find out what becomes of the avian kids.
Total Points: 17
Cover: Dark and Stormy - links to lyrics 2 points

Name: Author//Artist - James - 5 points

Review: This book was not bad and I might have liked it better if I didn't have so many little issues that just added up. The story itself was decent and the different ups and downs were all believable and kept me interested.
I started off feeling really bad for Sue Ann (I wanted to kick her ex's ass) and all the things that were happening to her. I immediately started rooting for her and her HEA. What changed was that she seemed determined to be miserable and I felt made a big deal out of little things. Adam was a great guy and I hated how he only really had two hangups that she focused on. About 60% through I got sick of Sue Ann bring up the same two issues over and over and over again. Also around that time I wanted to stop and read the first book in the Destiny series about Mick and Jenny who seemed more interesting at that point. I also wasn't too fond of the whole Christmas Carol part that had to do with Adam. Overall though it was a nice story and I was happy with the ending.
Total Points: 12
Shelf: 1 point (Friends to Lovers Shelf)
Cover: 2 points (Snow on cover)
Plot: 3 points (Long time friends become more)
Setting: 6 points (Various cabins by the lake or woods)
Bonus Word- Shimmy: No luck. I thought with all the getting naked they did there would be at least one time someone would shimmy out of their clothes. Unfortunately I had everything but that word..I mean in one scene she started to slither out of her pants!

Hi Ab2y, I just want to check, what is it about your cover that links to the song?

Review
I liked the story and the general plot, but the characters just wern't amazing for me. They were a bit weak. After having a fight where the words are uttered, "I never want to see you again", instead of fighting for the one they love, the hero & heroine were too content to not see each other for 7 years. It made thier love not seem as deep that they didn't care enough to fight. I really wanted them to fight not just be content to be miserable. After 7 years apart they were too easy to fall back into bed. I think it could have been better.

Since we finished first do we get to pick songs to get randomized for the next dance?

I'm not entirely sure. They adjusted the rules a bit from last round. It now states, "by the team or players who finish first". It may just be some of us or all of our team. I guess we wait for Nicholas to tell us.

Team Name, Congratulations on being the first team to finish your Read, Rate & Reviews this week.
As the team with the first reviews completed, you will now be asked to contribute one song each for next week's list.
Please do not post your song choice on any of the threads, as this will give some players an unfair advantage. I would ask that you please send me a Private Message with the Song Title and Artist of your choice. If you have a link for video or lyrics, they'd be appreciated, but not necessary.
I will collect all your choices and add any missing lyric and YouTube links before posting on the game threads.
I will also send you each a Private Message to this effect, which you can just reply to. The only criteria for the song choices are below:
* It must be in English
* It must have been in the Top 50 in any country, at some point in time from the 1960s to 2012.
Thank you.

Alley: Bad Romance by Lady Gaga (2009)
Dawn: Thong Song by Sisqo (2000)
Lauren: Set Fire to the Rain by Adele (2011)
Manvir: Beautiful Stranger by Madonna (1999)
And its that time of the week again to scramble to find books! The song Links are here.
